Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

I started last weekend. So far haven't noticed any change in appetite what so ever. In fact I've actually given in to carb cravings when normally I don't even eat them .

My DH did say he slept well last night so maybe my snoring is less. I feel more refreshed in the morning.

I've stopped drinking for a bit as it was getting problematic and I am hoping Mounjaro will help with that too.

ANewStartIn20225 · 01/03/2025 09:41

I'd like to join.... just injected this morning. Already been strength training and running but still struggling to lose any weight so hoping this will help. Have borderline high blood pressure so I'm hoping to reduce that too.
SW : 85kg BMI 31
Wanting to get my waist size down as that's where I carry all the weight which is not healthy! And be able to run faster Smile

@TheSpoonyNavyReader you mentioned high protein snacking and meal plans, just a tip in case anyone finds it helpful, but I follow this page on Facebook (HungryHealthyHappy), and she is great at high protein meal and snack suggestions, including what she calls 'picky plates', I've found it really useful:

What is your meal plan like?

I need to know what your snacks are, so far I have protein bagels, 0% Greek yoghurt, loads of fruit and veg.

I have been drinking lots of water, but had to get up last night 3 times.

We have from memory for the next week, trying to keep it family friendly, I’ll adjust mine where necessary, perhaps less carbs and get more veg on my plate.

lentil dal with salmon
korean chicken bowls
jacket potato with tuna mayo
Sausage and mash
chilli con carne
homemade pizza
Sunday roast
one pot bbq hunters chicken with orzo

for snacks on top of fruit/veg, I’ll pair the below with veggies/crackers/rice cakes if needed

cottage cheese (longley farm is elite and I won’t use any other brand)
chicken sausages
tuna mayo made in advance - will add like sweetcorn/peppers and veggies to scoop it up
precooked chicken skewers (ones found with like the cocktail sausages) but I may attempt to try and make my own as I try to cut down UPF as well.
boiled eggs
babybels
I make my own ‘trail’ mix with cranberries, chocolate chips & Brazil nuts - not high on the protein but feels like a nice treat.

then like you say greek yog, but I tend to have that for breakfast.

misspositivepants · 01/03/2025 10:06

@Pipsballoon

yes I found her page too, very useful, and love a picky plate!

Flaitch · 01/03/2025 10:13

@TriangleLight wine is my downfall too! That leads to crisps and cheese🤣 does anyone know how having alcohol effects you on mj?

MamaNewtNewt · 01/03/2025 10:19

@Pipsballoon I ordered from Asda and did not get the wipes. The prices they charge you'd think they'd include them...! DH then went to Boots and another pharmacy who said they don't stock and to try a supermarket, which also didn't sell them. I ordered on Amazon in the end.

MamaNewtNewt · 01/03/2025 10:39

Looks like you are all making great strides with the meat planning. I need to get on that today. I tend to have porridge or Greek yoghurt for breakfast and omelette or hummus sandwiches for lunch. I'm a vegetarian so I need to do a bit of research on the best protein sources. I don't think my meals are too bad, for me its the fact I eat waaaaaay too much, and my sweet tooth and love of crisps. Thankfully I don't really drink these days either so I don't have those calories to worry about.

MrsAlwaysRight · 01/03/2025 10:54

Morning everyone,

Just weighed.
SW 13.10 BMI 33
GW 10.0 BMI 24

Waiting for everyone to go out so I can do my first dose.

misspositivepants · 01/03/2025 11:34

Just had a lovely long walk in this March sunshine, amazing what a bit of sunshine can do for my mood and motivation

Morerollthanrock · 01/03/2025 11:37

Hopefully starting next week (Medexpress still haven’t sent out my first dose after ordering on Monday 😔).

BMI is 35

Already lost 9 stone on keto, need that extra push now as I’m stagnant at 15 stone for the past 1 year.

Would like to hit 13st so a 2 stone weight loss 😊

TryingMJ · 01/03/2025 12:02

Morning everyone (or actually just afternoon!)
Did the first jab last night about 8.15pm. My DP jabbed it into my stomach for me. It felt fine. I then got an early night, felt normal but through the night and first thing. I feel a bit sluggish now, sort of like I’d had a few drinks last night but not a full on hangover iyswim. I’ve only had a weetabix this morning and been drinking water. Going to make some lunch now. I don’t feel hungry and I haven’t snacked or anything but don’t know whether that’s any different to how I’d usually be on the first day of a diet when I tell myself it’s going to be different (and then inevitably fall off the wagon). It’s as time goes on and motivation wanes that I tend to have problems!

yikesanotherbooboo · 01/03/2025 12:10

Hello , I have just had my first injection delivered and am feeling unprepared. I'd like to join. I'm not even sure how much I weigh so I wrote my last known weight although I am more now. The scales have gone awol so I will probably weigh at work weekly .

MrsAlwaysRight · 01/03/2025 12:27

Just done first dose. Psyched myself up to do it and didn't feel a thing 🤣

Isn't it weird how it's just like nothing? If only most needles were as gentle (looking at you, flu jab...) 😁

MamaBanana12 · 01/03/2025 14:53

Hi all! Can I join? Just ordered my first injection.
I'm currently 16st 5 and 5ft 10

Hoping it arrives soon. Go on holiday in May so hoping I can maybe be 2 stone down for then 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

MrsN2121 · 01/03/2025 15:30

First jab done! Bring it on!

Sleepeazie · 01/03/2025 15:52

Just collected mine. Had to trek round Asda 3 times til I found the pharmacy.

Also doing my bit for de-stigmatisation - as the kiosk lady asked me what I was collecting and was it a private prescription (It transpired her aim was to identify if I had a qr code or a collection number) and I proudly stated it’s mounjaro

Anyway, I’m going out tonight so it’s going in the fridge until tomorrow.

I got a sharps bin too. Does anybody know how I dispose of that when it’s full?

Eee this journey is getting real now.
.

SharpOpalNewt · 01/03/2025 16:45

First jab.done after lunch. I wondered if it had gone in, never felt a thing!

Just a little pink mark and no blood.

My body is definitely going "Hmm, what is this?" just now.

The council collects my mum's diabetes one on bin day. Have a look on your council website.

Sleepeazie · 01/03/2025 16:47

Thanks @SharpOpalNewt i’ll have a look.

Thanks @SharpOpalNewt i’ll have a look.

It probably won't be full for a few months I expect. On my council website I can book a collection when it's full.

ShineyGreen · 01/03/2025 19:09

Hi all. First jab last night- eek!

Have not read full thread yet - will do in a bit- but just wanted to report that I didn’t think I had felt any side effects at all until I realised I could very easily not bother with dinner 😮😮😮😮

Having said that I don’t know whether it’s just a placebo effect. Either way I am going to try chicken fajitas as my children need to eat so I am making it anyway.

MumofSpud · 01/03/2025 19:46

Mine arrived yesterday and is in the fridge as I am plucking up the courage!
DD has been on it nearly a month has lost 11 pounds

flipflop76 · 01/03/2025 20:05

I'm on day 4 after my first jab. Today I've definitely got more food noise - I've had 2 packets of crisps, 2 chocolate biscuits and some haribo and a small cake just now. So annoying but I've still eaten less and I'm not having constant compulsion to eat. Still a fair bit though! The next few days will be a challenge until jab day.
