Hi

I am starting this thread for anyone that is starting their weight loss in March.

I have read a lots of the other threads and have never ordered until today when I looked in the mirror this morning and did not recognise the woman staring back at me, she looked unhappy and ashamed and quite frankly fat.

I got on the scales and worked out my BMI is 32, until 3 years ago my weight was around 9 stone, I am now 13 stone, peri menopause, an under active thyroid, death of a parent and not bothering with exercise and eating too much has left me like this.

My goal is to get to 10.5 stone by the end of May as that is when my son get married, and then keep going.

So who would like to join me, where we can support each other and go onto bigger and better things in life

Hi, I’ll join the thread please.
Received my first order yesterday, got it in the fridge ready to take tonight (I saw someone advising taking it in the evening so that if you feel nauseous you can just go to bed). Start weight is 13 stone 6lbs, BMI 31.4. Target weight is 10 stone. I turn 40 in the summer and would love to be closer to my target by then. I have lost and gained the same half a stone over and over and over. I’m very “all or nothing” so feel like if I slip and have one biscuit then I’ve failed and might as well binge. Which I do know is stupid but here we are, and that’s something I’m hoping the jabs help with. I’m scared of side effects like feeling nauseous, tired (I’m a teacher so hard to carry on when feeling unwell) and constipation. I haven’t told anyone but my partner. I’m a vegetarian.
Nice to “meet” everyone on the thread and hopefully we can follow along together.

My Mounjaro has arrived, I only ordered it yesterday, really great service from my supplier.

I will be injecting tonight and weight myself just before so that I can track my progress accurately (a day since I weighed myself knowing my luck I will have put on another couple of pounds)

I will let you all know how it goes

Good luck, OP. Which provider did you use? I’m going to be injecting (or rather my partner injecting me!) at around 8pm tonight. Hope it goes well for both of us this evening!
I have a new set of bathroom scales that links to an app on my phone. If I have the app open when I step on the scales it automatically updates my weight and also works out BMI and body fat and other things. One thing it gives is Body Age and mine is 44years (I’m 39, turning 40 in the summer). I’m quite progress motivated so really hoping to see changes on the tracking app that keep me motivated.

This might be silly but I’m worried about looking older once I lose the weight- especially in my face and neck. The last time I was at my goal weight was around 8 years ago and I looked great (if I do say so myself!) but I’ve had a second child since then and obviously aged although I don’t look too bad in terms of age mainly because my face is plump and round. More recently when I’ve lost 7-10lbs (and put back on…) I find I get a turkey neck and face looks more drawn/wrinkled. Maybe I’ll have to look into Botox down the line!!

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 28/02/2025 14:59

I have injected, as there was no one in the house….. I have not even told my husband as he believes I can do this without medication and just healthy eating and moving more, when I really can’t.

The injection was really easy and I did not feel a thing, I had to check that the needle was actually went in.

Good luck tonight!

I use Botox regularly and at 46 3/4 look great, I have also take marine collagen which has been a game changer for my skin. I am sure you won’t look like you have a turkey neck.

I used Med Express and they were great. It arrived in 24 hours from when I first submitted my application and it was approved straight away.

Do you recommend any particular brand for the collagen?

NotARealMeat · 28/02/2025 16:42

Literally just ordered for the first time so joining if that's ok.
I have been through phases of being a regular gym goer and really keeping on top of my food intake but just completely lost it. Hoping stopping the food noise will really help me get back to it.

SW 14st 1lbs
GW 10st

I have been using Kiki Health Beauty Blend it’s marine collagen which is meant to be the better. I buy it on look fantastic.

I am getting out my clothes in the wardrobe that I have not worn for a couple of years as an incentive, I will be buying and selling on vinted until I reach my goal weight. That should keep the costs down.

Hi All, I'll join you too. Ive just injected this evening my first dose.
SW 18 st
GW 12 st
I really need to lose weight for health reasons - hoping it will reduce my blood pressure, help joints and feel better about myself.

mumofmanydaughterofone · 28/02/2025 19:23

Can I join in? I did my first injection yesterday in the evening - not been hungry or snacked all day so hopefully it's working. Had a sicky headache though - trying to drink plenty of water.
SW 194 lb
GW 176 lb initially so I'm just overweight

Can't think beyond that as it's been 25 years since I was that weight - will replan as I get there

Tereseta · 28/02/2025 19:37

I got a call from my GP today to offer me mounjaro. Got to go for an appointment next week to go through diet, injection etc then can start. Hadn't really thought about using it so can I join for some tips!

lardass88 · 28/02/2025 19:42

Can I join please? Had first jab last Sunday. Have tried ozempic and Wegovy before both with good results. So fingers crossed for this.
Want to lose weight for holiday in July

Tranquilitybaby · 28/02/2025 19:59

Can I hop on, I’m either starting tonight or Sunday night, just bothered as I’m now working tomorrow and out all day Sunday so just bit worried about any possible side effects.
what to do, what to do. Any advice would be great

My BMI is 39, I want to lose 5 stone so get it down to 27. Peri menopausal so it’s not as easy to diet as it once was, but I’ve had enough of my weight dictating my life.

Good luck everyone we can do this!

MamaNewtNewt · 28/02/2025 21:06

DH couldn't get hold of alcohol wipes anywhere. I had to order from Amazon so will start tomorrow when they arrive.

soupforbrains · 28/02/2025 22:00

im waiting for my first batch of mounjaro. Should arrive any day now.

im targeting a bigger loss than you guys.

I’m currently 19st10. Targeting 12st.

Not sure what to expect with mounjaro but hoping it will help me shift a good chunk of weight. I can’t exercise currently due to an old injury which means my knee can’t really take the stress of my huge weight. My aim is to get to 15st7 and then see if my knee will let me start including exercise too.

Flaitch · 01/03/2025 08:13

Morning

Can I join? I’ve purposely joined mumsnet to get some support.

Last at my ideal weight 8 years ago. Feeling fat and frumpy, and clothes not fitting. Jag due to arrive today, so hoping to start it on Monday.

Like you, perimenopause , death of a parent and just sheer laziness has led me to here.

Hoping to loose 3 stone for mid July, for a holiday. Also hoping to sell / buy on Vinted to save money.

I’ve bought collagen supplements along with multivitamins that should stop sulphur burps that I’ve read about.
Will post tomorrow with starting weight.
Good luck ladies 😍

All injected this morning, planning to keep of the scales until next Saturday. Meal are all planned to ensure I stick to my calorie deficit, and plenty of fruit, veg & high protein snacks, giving myself the best possible chance of kicking this weight for good.

So did I, but I ordered Monday and mine is due to arrive today! And I've seen a poster on another thread who also ordered Monday this week and has been told there are supply issues, so she doesn't know when she'll get hers...

Pipsballoon · 01/03/2025 09:22

I'm noticing people mention alcohol wipes, are they not provided by Medexpress? If so, I'll go on a hunt today, as I want to inject my first dose tonight, as long as it gets delivered today as promised

What is your meal plan like?

I need to know what your snacks are, so far I have protein bagels, 0% Greek yoghurt, loads of fruit and veg.

I have been drinking lots of water, but had to get up last night 3 times.

Hi, I was on the February thread but my order took so long to come I haven’t started yet 🙈 I have a night out tonight, so will start tomorrow or Monday, though I have a busy week so am concerned about sides effects. But it’s now or never!

I’m 111 kgs, tall and muscly so it’s been easy to let the weight creep on so that my BMI is now 37 🙈 And a knee problem.

Wine is my downfall as I exercise a lot and eat relatively well. Will calorie count and watch portion size and hope it all helps!

Med express sent me wipes, but I will go to the chemist or order them on Amazon as well just in case they do not come next time.

Good luck tonight @Pipsballoon
