Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

Thread 1 here:

I'm 5 weeks in maintenance now

SW 14 stone 3.8 BMI 32.2
CW 10 stone 11.8 BMI 24
24.5% body weight lost
TW 11 stone BMI 24.9

I'm continuing taking 2.5mg at the moment and my weight is fairly consistent. I currently t weigh the same as the week I got to target.

I'm considering that I might like to lose a few more lb but I'll do some toning first and see how I feel.

I'm nervous about stopping MJ all together, but not planning that for the next month or 2

JunoRoma · 02/05/2025 15:07

@shrinkingfi if you find it difficult to tolerate more than 6.25mg then I would stick with that dose for now and try changing other factors: e.g. drinking more water, changing type of exercise, calorie cycling.

JunoRoma · 02/05/2025 15:13

@HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow thank you for keeping us updated, that's encouraging for those of us who aren't yet at the maintenance stage.

Thats reassuriing to hear and well done on the maintenance.

I think youre right to take a pause just now. I can see how easy it would be to keep goijng, keep losing and see how low you can go, but, I think our brains need time to catch up with our new weight.

I had a number in mind but realistically I am not 19 anymore and it probably would not suit me and sit completely differently on a post meo body.

Did anyone read rhe article about "set point" shared on another thread? It takes a whilw for your body to reset.

On a different note, a non scale victory today... i can cross my legs and its completely comfortable!!

Goinghome20 · 02/05/2025 15:23

Sorry for typos I am on my phone

Julesni77 · 02/05/2025 15:37

@shrinkingfi I am also in a plateau - even slightly put on as last few weeks! I am on 7.5mg and feeling ok on it sop am not going up dose just yet but have not ordered my next pen am realy on the fence as what to do! In my heart I know I can try harder but at lest being on the jabs has stopped me throwing in the towel and binging!

shrinkingthiswinter · 02/05/2025 15:44

I had a whoosh two weeks ago after a frustrating plateau and have sat still since then. Maybe it’s just going to be more stop-start now.

Julesni77 · 02/05/2025 16:04

@shrinkingthiswinter you may be right and thanks for sharing I am not the only one - I see all these folk losing every week and feel a bit left behind and then i remember not everyone has the same journey and the slower losers are just not as vocal!

shrinkingfi · 02/05/2025 16:14

My supplier (that sounds bad!!) always advocates going up a dose when I ask for advice, but don’t want to be left down the line on 15mg with no where left to go!

shrinkingfi · 02/05/2025 11:14

Stalled again, no loss for three weeks. I’ve lost 15kg since December, but another 20 at least to go, so a long way to go. Been on between 6.25 and 7.5 for 8 weeks now. Really suffer on the full 7.5 so reluctant to increase. Any tips anyone? V v frustrating!

What are your daily cals/exercise/water?

Slimwannabe · 02/05/2025 17:51

Is anyone doing a new thread as we're close to the end?!

What are your daily cals/exercise/water?

1200 calories, limiting carbs and avoiding anything processed where possible. Masses of water, at least 3 litres a day. Spend a lot of time at my computer but have a job on my feet 3 -4 days a week. Not doing any additional exercise mainly due to lack of time. Wondering if I should work on my strength and build some muscle. Need to look into that.

Maybe you are eating too little so your body has gone into starvation mode? I struggle with the exercise too as I have a desk-based job and regularly do loads of overtime and found a walking pad really helpful.

Slimwannabe · 03/05/2025 10:28

I've started up a new thread in readiness: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5327512-mounjaro-december-starters-thread-3.

TrinityWaves · 04/05/2025 17:43

Thanks for starting a new thread Slimwannabe, it's obviously important we fill this thread up to 1000 too or it's going to bother me 😅

Slimwannabe · 04/05/2025 17:52

I am happy to support efforts towards completion! 🤣

On the next thread, we could add up how many suitcases we’ve lost in total between us all
