Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

Lovely seeing all the positive results! I can't tag you all individually as I've had a glass of wine and wouldn't want to miss anyone by accident! 😵‍💫

TrinityWaves · 19/04/2025 21:05

Good to see you back @LC4life , you're smashing it and your BMI is lower than mine. Obviously, sorry to hear re a difficult personal situation, though.

Slimwannabe · 20/04/2025 10:16

The big gain from last week has come off, along with another 2lb, so down by 37lb total. W21,D1 starting on 7.5, fingers crossed no side effects!

SW: 273lb
CW: 236lb

Bit of an Easter splurge on pizza and (chocolate) eggs for me on Sunday, but happy to report the suppression is BACK on 7.5, after 15 weeks on 5 I think I'd forgotten what it felt like! Proud of still losing over the past few weeks with little suppression. No side effects as yet on the higher dose, feeling pretty good!

OrangeDonald · 22/04/2025 16:56

For the last few weeks I've been hoovering round the low 80kgs. But every week id lose around 1lb (0.5kg). So i knew that a number starting with 7 was within reach, but it just seemed to be teasingly out of reach.

Today, im bloated. Day 2 of period. Feel blergh. But i stood on the scales and it gave me 79.6kg! Milestone reached. Next target is 69.9kg (bmi of 25 at 70). But that is end of summer goals

Sorry I've been absent. Life's been mad, then had a couple of bugs and been away over Easter.

I'm stuck on 2stone weight loss. As in it will not go any lower. I'm still on 3.75mg, and it's fab as still huge suppression, so not sure upping my dose achieves anything.

I'm not being as mindful on what I'm eating, but I'm still not over 1000cals a day.
I'm hoping now I'm back off holiday, I'm going to up my intake of water and see if that gives me a boost! Don't get me wrong I never thought I'd see 12.9 on the scales again in my lifetime, but I want another stone or two gone and I can't get traction.

TrinityWaves · 23/04/2025 09:19

End of week 21.
-1.8 lb this week
SW 263.4 (BMI43)
CW 205.4 (BMI33.7)
TL 58 lb
Targets : <200 lb, 13 st (BMI30), 12 st (BMI27.7), 11 st (BMI25.3)

JunoRoma · 23/04/2025 13:04

Well done @TrinityWaves - getting close to that 200lb milestone

JunoRoma · 23/04/2025 13:12

This is my 4th week on 4.4mg after having reduced from 5mg (due to side effects).
Suppression is barely noticeable and I'm feeling hungry 3-4 hours after eating.
Weight loss has slowed from average 1kg a week to average 0.5kg a week.

I'm going to try moving up to 5mg again, either for the next dose or the one after.

Hi {mention:MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals}@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals. ^^

OrangeDonald · 23/04/2025 13:56

Whoops, gremlins in my phone. Didn't mean to just post hi @MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals

Have you spoken to your provider/a medical person/dietician about your calorie intake as staying under 1000 a day seems a very low target, especially if sustaining that calorie deficit has now been happening for 4-5 months?

You can use a TDEE Calculator online to work out what daily calories you'd need to maintain your weight, and then i think the advice is to aim for no more than 500-200 a day under whilst on glp1.

Obligatory i am not a doctor disclaimer, but it might be worth checking out that you're not sending your body into starvation mode, which is making it fight to retain weight, or going into nutrient deficiency happy for everyone to jump on me and say thats an old wives tale

TDEE Calculator: Learn Your Total Daily Energy Expenditure

Use the TDEE calculator to learn your Total Daily Energy Expenditure, a measure of how many calories you burn per day. This calculator displays MUCH more!

Hi all,

sorry I have been absent since about January!
I had a month off the jabs in February due to travelling. And another week off at the start of April.

So I am still on 5mg - by choice. And honestly I have been feeling awful. I’m not sure how long I can keep this up. I have another 5mg on the way, and a 7.5mg in the fridge which I’m too scared to go up to.

However, I’m 50% of the way to my goal. I’ve dropped from 94kg to 79kg since mid December. Bringing me below 13 stone for the first time since Jan 2020. BMI is now 28.3.

is anyone else still on 5mg? I’ll try to be more present on here again!

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 23/04/2025 16:32

@OrangeDonald in all fairness I'm guesstimating the calories, but I'm just not hungry at all.
I haven't asked anyone about it from my provider, and sometimes I'm over calories I'm sure.

In think maybe I need to start tracking properly, but I did the 800 cals diet before and dropped lots of weight (although not as long as this obviously).

JunoRoma · 23/04/2025 18:17

@saj90 I managed four weeks on 5mg but felt over-suppressed and found it difficult to tolerate the side effects, so I reduced to 4.4mg and stayed there for the past four weeks. I'm planning to try increasing to 5mg again soon.
When you say you feel awful on it, what sort of symptoms?

I did 5mg for January. Then March / April too.

At least one day a week I’m up during the night with horrific cramping and diarrhoea. The tiredness is hellish for two days too. If I could work from home it would be ok, but I’m struggling. The other thing is my mood, I am incredibly low and struggle to get going. The weight loss is great but I just wish I wasn’t feeling so low in between!

Slimwannabe · 23/04/2025 20:41

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals you might be plateaued or it might be too low cals and your body is in starvation mode - I know some people up their calories to stop their body hoarding weight if there's no movement. 1k cals does sound very low (I'm on around 1800 - but MUCH heavier than you - and still losing). Maybe try increasing a bit and seeing if that helps?

That sounds so rough! I was on 5mg for around 15 weeks and did have some gastro side effects. Have you tried pepto bismol to settle the tummy? 7.5 has been kind to me so far, although a bitter taste in my mouth sometimes, which seemed to be helped by more water. Pepto really helped with the poops.

JunoRoma · 24/04/2025 09:17

@saj90 you've done well to cope with that for so long. I hope it improves soon for you.

Goinghome20 · 24/04/2025 09:56

Morning everyone.
Havent posted stats for a while, and Ii love seeing others, so here they are.

Slow and steady except for the beginning.

Its so weird when I step on the scales. I still expect it to go to 13 something and for those horrible feelings of defeat, self loathing snd dread to hit me. Then they dont and I still cant quite believe it!

@LC4life look at you with your BMI whooshing down! The difference between 40 and 32 is massive in terms of health and wellbeing! 😍

I’ve also been tired and not exercising as much as I’d like. I did a workout just now, squats and core stuff, but was pretty knackered and stopped sooner than I would have done a couple of months ago. Now feel too tired for gardening and will go and finish reading something instead.
