Welcome all December 2024 starters, and November and January starters too😊. As we're almost at the end of the first thread, I thought to start a new one before it finishes.

After much deliberation I went ahead and ordered the 5mg pen between Xmas and NY and now kicking myself as the suppression this week on 2.5mg is massive. I'm reaching for protein lots, but am under eating calories wise so really need to sort that before I kill my already temperamental gall bladder completely.

Some fab weigh losses in the thread. Well done everyone. :)

CountryVic · 08/01/2025 08:17

I set myself a mini goal of 10 kilos, I’ve lost 5.5 and still have 5 weeks till my trip so have to keep at it. I definitely feel less inflamed.
i want to walk more but it’s been so hot, Aussie summer.

Thank you, yes! I must have posted around the same time as you. I swear I checked for a second thread before creating one, must've been post-work brain-blindness!

Awww bless! You're right, we missed each other by a few minutes I think. You're definitely welcome to start the next thread 3 so I'll hold off on starting one when this thread runs out 💛

Morning! I started 3 weeks ago and have been following this thread since but not posted until now. I have had terrible diarrhea, stomach cramps and sulfur burps 😣 the last 24 hours and wondering what foods I should be avoiding that may have triggered it? Any advice?

The Weight loss has been great so far, suppression generally quite strong and this is first noticeable side effect, strange how it’s come on after 3 weeks on 2.5 mg

SW 15 st 1 lb
week 1 14 st 7 lbs (-8 lb)
week 2 14 st 3.5lbs (-3.5 lb)
week 3 (current) 14 st (-3.5 lb)
total loss 1 stone 1lb 😀

Welcome @Julesni77 Sorry to hear about your walking troubles. Hope you begin to feel better by tomorrow. Which supplier did you use?

Hi @OnTheMJ I started with Voy and a discount code - got 2.5mg for £111 then second 2.5mg from farmeci for £120 and then my 5mg from Curate at £130 - I am trying not to pay more than £130 for an injection as that is the top of what I can realistically afford

Although the cost is definitely offset by buying less alcohol and treats!

I did another workout last night and now have sore arms to match the sore legs!

I am hoping its just the break in training rather than a side effect of the jabs - I have never had doms like it before!

Oh you poor thing! I haven't really suffered with any major side effects apart from nausea the day after my first 5mg jab. I'm basically eating zero junk - very, very occasional sweets, diet is predominantly fruit, veg, beans/pulses and tofu. I have heard high sugar/fat can trigger unpleasant side effects, but I think mainly down to the individual. Some of us seem to tolerate it better than others.

TrinityWaves · 08/01/2025 10:25

Hi gang! Oo, shiny new thread and official weigh day for me.
I'm W7D1, I've lost 2.2 lb this week, so total after 6 weeks is -22.2 lb
SW 263.4
CW 241.2

Reetpetitenot · 08/01/2025 11:00

Finally, the scales dropped 120.3 kg when I started on 15/12, 118.7 kg this morning, although I've had a chaotic few days where meals have been a bit of an afterthought. I'm not getting much in the way of suppression on 2.5 so have a 5mg pen in the fridge to start on Saturday. I had wondered about doing 3.75 but not entirely sure how to go about it.

Well done on your recent loss.

To get 3.75mg I did 45 clicks (rather than the full 60 clicks to get to the number 1 marker) on a 5mg pen.

CrystalDeCanter · 08/01/2025 20:43

Hi all, also a big hello to @CountryVic I'm also in Aus so I hear you about the hot weather. I'm walking early in the morning to get the dogs and I run before the heat hits.

I'm about to take my 7th dose, I'm on 2.5 still but the weight loss has really levelled off over the past week or so, am thinking of upping to 3.75, but not sure how to with a 2.5 pen. Has anyone done it? 1 full dose plus half the number of clicks I suppose...

Hello all!

Week 3 for me. Did the third dose on Tuesday and definitely feel hungrier this week. The first two weeks were amazing and I'm 7lb down but I haven't lost this week at all. What am I I doing wrong?

JunoRoma · 09/01/2025 08:02

End of first week on 3.75mg...

SW: 107kg
CW: 95.5kg
GW: 75kg

Loss this week: 2kg
Total loss so far: 11.5kg

Have lost more than 10% of starting weight, which was a mini goal I had set for myself.

OnTheMJ · 09/01/2025 08:31

Well done @JunoRoma It must feel amazing to reach that goal 👏

@UnaLength You're not doing anything wrong. Our weight fluctuates and there's no guarantee that we'll lose each week. Just keep going and doing what you're doing, you will start losing again. x

@LC4life I've not tried the back of the arm yet but maybe I will. I've been doing my stomach and plan to do the thighs next jab day. It's great that you've had mild side effects and hoping the big losses come soon for you.

Hello to the Aussies among us @CrystalDeCanter and @CountryVic 😊 Congrats on the loss. You're both very lucky to have some warmth! We're frozen over here 😆

@Reetpetitenot and @TrinityWaves Well done on the loss 👏

@Julesni77 Thanks for the info. Ooh, sorry about your sore arms. I imagine it could be both but mainly the break in training. Hope you feel better soon.

@Honeypad So sorry to hear of your side effects. They really can come on at anytime and it doesn't matter if they were there before so don't worry. Hopefully they'll level out again. You can look at the foods you ate and see if there was anything different from before. Ive also heard to avoid greasy food. Congrats on your weight loss also.

Well done all the losses so far everyone. I'm loving our progress 💛

I don't think you are doing anything wrong - you've lost half a stone in 2 weeks! Weight fluctuates over the week, so keep at it and I'm sure it will even out and you'll lose over the next 2 weeks. If however, you don't, or the hunger comes back and you are eating more than you want you may feel it's time to move up your a stronger dose next month.

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 09/01/2025 10:20

I think it's normal for weight to fluctuate across the week, even more so if you have a menstrual cycle (I'm on menopause).

Over my 35 days so far I have lost near 1 and 1/2 stone. But during that time I've had weight fluctuations as big as 1.6lb on overnight followed by 1.8 off overnight at a different point. I've had a 5 day run at one point where I lost nothing at all.

I track everything I eat and it wasn't much different over those days. I seem to lose better if my fluids are a bit higher, and carbs in the evening seem to store water the next morning but resolved itself the next day.

I am eating much smaller portions than I used to, but I'm not denying myself. After dinner yesterday I had a chocolate biscuit with my DH but for the first time ever 1 was enough and the packets back in the cupboard.

I read somewhere that reassuring your body that you're not starving by having the odd treat can stop it trying to hold on to fat in case of famine. I don't know if it's true or not, but I think an occasional treat probably helps prepare for maintenance anyway 😊

Goinghome20 · 09/01/2025 10:35

Well done everyone on the losses and the perseverance.

Feeling a bit flat as my losses have stalled on 2.5mg even though I am using Nutracheck app to ensure I am under 1300 cal a day.

Am taking this weeks MJ a day early as I am travelling next week. Just deciding whether to do the 45 clicks on my first 5mg pen for a 3.75mg dose or just go for it! I can see how mixed experiences are on here and I to decide what to do by this evening!

My weight loss has stalled now for 2 weeks so I definately need to go up from 2.5mg.

Reading about how some of you have been suffering bad side effects
has put me off doing the jump. For those people I hope the bad side effects subside very soon.

Really hoping my weight loss will resume on a higher dose without too many side effects .

Sw 13.7 Bmi 32.4
Cw 12.7 Bmi 30
Gw 9.8 Bmi 23

Posting on here made me decide. Just injected 45 clicks of the 5mg so 3.75mg! Forgot to prime my needle! What a dope!

Hi all week 4 for me.
I’ve lost 17lbs so far. Not sure I’ve lost much this week though but I’m getting obsessed with weighing. Need to make sure it’s only weekly but can’t help myself every morning!

Hi all week 4 for me.
I’ve lost 17lbs so far. Not sure I’ve lost much this week though but I’m getting obsessed with weighing. Need to make sure it’s only weekly but can’t help myself every morning!

I weigh every day but try not to fret about it.

I do record it in My Fitness Pal and have a spreadsheet to track though which might be a little obsessive I guess, but it doesn't feel that way

I don't change my eating according to what the scales say though, because I've got strong suppression I tend to be focussed on trying to eat nutritious foods rather than trying to reduce my intake

If you five weighing affects your mood or your eating then I agree you should limit it to once a week just to keep track of whether you might need a dose increase

Often weight fluctuations align to constipation, inflammation or water retention and understanding the patterns can help you relax about the numbers when you do weigh though. I remember when I did slimming world a long time ago there was a thing called star week, basically almost everyone put on weight in the run up to their period and lost it almost immediately after it started

I hope you're not feeling too stressed about weighing 🤞

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 09/01/2025 12:10

@MaybeMrs sorry forgot to say 17lb is awesome in such a short period. It doesn't sound like there is any reason to be worried about the scales

Goinghome20 · 09/01/2025 13:02

Thanks! As I am travelling next week decided to be cautious! Plan is to do one more 3.75mg next week then see if I have lost anything.

im really happy that a stone has gone And stayed.off for 2 weeks especially with Christmas etc.

i just reminded myself that it would usually take me at least 2 months to lose that doing low carbing or WW!

claudia1994 · 09/01/2025 18:10

Bonus dose chaos.

W4D2

I attempted the bonus dose yesterday with an insulin syringe. I was a bit shit and clueless. Managed to get the liquid out but the needle was a bit wonky afterwards. It seemed like there was quite a lot in the syringe but I didn’t really study the ml. I then attempted to jab the needle in but then when I took it out and looked at it it was at a 90degree angle, totally wonky. So I wasn’t sure if I’d injected or squirted it sideways to the carpet.

I actually contemplated just doing the 5mg in the fridge (ready for next week). Thank the lord I didn’t as the suppression is sky high today. I’ve felt a bit sick all day. So it obviously went in but goodness knows how much as I haven’t felt this much suppression on the other 4x2.5mg doses I’ve had so far.
