Feeling so sick on 2.5mgs and zero desire to eat. I made 2 boiled eggs thinking they are bland so I should be ok. They tasted like Satan's testicles.
I really dont think I'll be able to go above 5mgs tbh.

Oh my god I read this S Santas testicles 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 howling

Hi, please can I join? After a year of weight loss attempts I’ve failed and hit obese. Picked up my pen yesterday and I’ve read the instructions. Once the dog moved from my lap I’ll attempted injection number 1. Feeling like I’ve failed (which I know is unhelpful and I wouldn’t judge anyone else so harshly).
sw 12st 9

Feels like heading towards Christmas might not be the best time but I can’t keep putting it off. Hoping this community can be an outlet as I can’t share in rl.

I'm literally only on day one, but I'm finding that I still really enjoy food, I just get fuller faster. I also had massive doubts about starting before Christmas but if it's like this, this is how I always wanted to eat - really enjoying smaller portions and not snacking between meals. I hope it carries on like this!

PS I'm taking mine as part of a weight management programme and they recommending jabbing at night to avoid nausea

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 17/11/2024 13:47

W1D4 and the effect on portion size is fascinating. I had one slice of oat bread with scrambled eggs for lunch, and I enjoyed it but feel full now. I would have had two pieces of toast with scrambled eggs just as a standard portion size before. I need to retrain my memory/habits to automatically aim for the smaller portion in future. This is part of my goal - to be able to eat carbs like a normal person. I know from bitter experience that I can’t stick to low-carb forever, so I need to get used to a sensible amount.

I really wasn’t sure about starting before Christmas either, but we’re at home this year so it will be less obvious if I eat and drink less. I did Fast 800 from Jan of 2023, and I worked out that on average I had a night out once a fortnight with much drink and/or food, and often next-day hangover food as well. So I decided Christmas didn’t really matter that much as clearly I just party too often at all times.

OliviaFlaversham · 17/11/2024 14:17

WHEN TO ORDER?
Anyone else with Asda? It’s expensive (as a first time buyer, I got a good discount) but the option of collecting and not waiting it suits me logistically. How soon did you order your 5 pen? I’ll finish the 2.5 and will buy some needles to get the bonus dose out of it but don’t want to risk having none to go onto! I’m on week 2 day 2 so only have one more 2.5 official dose left.

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 17/11/2024 14:32

Me too TooExtraImmatureCheddar but I made the mistake of going for two slices of toast with scrambled egg and couldn’t finish it! I think it might take time to re-train my brain to smaller portions..

I’m also not sure on this. I’m with Voy and they have an app so will check on there and report back (though am guessing dispatch date will vary a bit from prescriber to prescriber?)

Yes totally TeenLifeMum come join us! :) I think we can all relate to feelings of failure but really biologically it is hard to swim against the tide when our bodies are stuck in fat storage mode (for whatever reason or combination of reasons) and we’re relying on steely willpower to push through. I’m only half way through week 2 but already this feels different, significant weight loss to get to a healthy weight finally (FINALLY) feels achieveable!

Also try to relax and not worry about the jab, it is so fine and short you barely feel it, most of us don’t feel anything at all. Let us know how you get on

Thank you @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo
I’m not fussed about needles (had to inject post C-section and it’s quite similar - although that was 13 years ago). At 38 I was my fittest ever but I hit 40 and life stresses mean the least two years I’ve eaten my way through the stress and lost any ability to control my brain when fog eating occurs. I lost 9lbs in the summer but got stuck and added 4lbs back. I just want to stop constantly thinking about food. Dh is supportive. I don’t think he’s keen because he’s worried but will support me in whatever I want to do. I get it as I’d feel the same. He also slightly stressed about money and always assumes we don’t have any… it used to be tight but we’re okay now and both earn well, but his mindset hasn’t shifted.

i didn’t shop around. A friend is with Asda so I took her recommendation. It was straight forward. I think realising I met the 30bmi criteria was a bit of a shock to be honest. I knew I was overweight but was kidding myself that it wasn’t that much.

PinkArt · 17/11/2024 14:57

If it makes you feel better @TeenLifeMum , I've got just over a stone to lose before I get back down to 'just' obese. Now that is mortifying!
I think this is potentially a great time to be starting as there is probably going to be increased demand in the new year, in the same way Weight Watchers and gyms get busy in January. And we are hopefully just far away from Christmas that we'll be used to new eating habits by the time the holidays hit.

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 17/11/2024 15:11

Yeah totally agree PinkArt I think this is a great time to get started. Traditionally have always gained over the festive season and felt awful after (physically and psychologically) am looking forward to it this year! To enjoy some nice things over Christmas but remain in control rather than losing it/ chucking in the towel and over indulging (again 🫢)

Really good point @PinkArt i also think I was just going to keep creeping up and up so need to get on top of things now so I can enjoy being “young” (in my 40s). You’ll soon be there. It’s so hard and while I’ve spent a year thinking it wouldn’t be this hard, it is and I need help. Good luck x

Yes, I think the same - expect demand will soar in the New Year, so I wanted to get in before that happened.

PinkArt · 17/11/2024 16:49

I've lost about 4 stone before just with willpower @TeenLifeMum , before gaining it back and another 4 after my gallbladder was removed. I'm feeling pretty hopeful that with mounjaro's help I can get some good momentum going. 4 pounds off in the first week, which was a good start.

BleachedJumper · 17/11/2024 16:59

Been cold all day today and overdid the dulcolax after I mistakenly thought the dose I took last night hadn’t worked, so took another one this morning. The walk from the sofa to the bathroom multiple times has been all the exercise I’ve done today!

Today is the first day in nearly 4 weeks where I’ve felt some hunger/cravings. I have a nice dinner planned but we won’t be eating until 8:30 when DP gets back. Twiddling my thumbs and probably going to make another peppermint tea soon.

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 17/11/2024 17:01

I'm realising that some of my unhealthy eating has been from habit / routine. I went for a long walk this afternoon, which at this time of year would usually be followed by a hot chocolate and biscuits or cake.

Today I realised that it is actually possible to go for a walk and not have a high sugar + fat drink and snack immediately after getting home. And (possibly thanks to the Mounjaro) I don't feel short-changed or hard done by.

MsRumpole · 17/11/2024 17:08

5pm and I have had about 800 calories. I have never eaten so little as an adult without immense force of will.

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 17/11/2024 17:10

For those of us with significant amounts of weight to lose, do you have a a mini-goal / interim target in mind, or are you going to just see how it goes?
I'd quite like to get to the next class of obesity below my current one, although I'm right at the top of this one so it might be a while.

MsRumpole · 17/11/2024 17:28

I have about 10.5 stone to lose. My interim target is to lose about 3.5 stone. I'll be delighted to lose anything and keep it off, though

TeenLifeMum · 17/11/2024 17:51

I’m surprised how fast it’s kicked in. I’ve not thought about food and I’m only cooking dinner because dc need food and I’ll eat so I’m healthy but I’ll still be only 750 calories. It feels weird but nice. I’ve just finished a post grad course and now have a painful 3 week wait for the results. Really hoping that by that time my clothes will be looser.

PinkArt · 17/11/2024 18:16

My first goal is 17st 13lbs. My starting point was 19st 9lbs so getting back to 'only' the 17s feels like a realistic first aim and I'll also be back to 'just' obese by then. My overall aim is 11st as that's the higher end of what my weight hovered at when I was in my 20s and that feels too far off to think about at the moment.

Demjay · 17/11/2024 18:20

I took jab 4 yesterday and the sulphur burps are back 🤢🤢

Demjay · 17/11/2024 18:21

On the plus side I’m w3 d2 and somewhere between 11-14lbs down 💪🏻.

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 17/11/2024 18:36

@Demjay poor you, that sounds really unpleasant. Is there any correlation with having eaten particular foods?

NoOneAtTheInn · 17/11/2024 19:05

Would love to join you. Started yesterday after thinking about this for maybe 9 months. Saw a few awful photos, realised I am as heavy as I was when I was pregnant with first child, and bit the bullet.

Starting weight 172lb. Target weight 149lb would be amazing. But let's face it I'd just be happy back in the mid 150s where I keep getting to and then losing my way.

I am feeling strange today, like hungry but not hungry. I guess it's nausea. Need to take something for it as it's making me a bit grumpy. I think the whole thing has me stressed out. Hopefully won't last and will be a bigger deal in my head than reality. I think I just feel like I've failed as I've been dieting for years and years and it's just a doom loop. But I need to do something as my confidence is so affected. So here I am to join you. Promise my future posts will be more positive.

TeenLifeMum · 17/11/2024 19:11

@NoOneAtTheInn I only started today. Let’s see how week one goes! Sounds like similar weights. I’m 172 too. Post pregnancy I was 13st but that was after twins and I lost it all quickly. So much easier at 29/30 than in my 40s 😭

lovealongbath · 17/11/2024 19:14

I am on week 1 day 3
I have calorie counted today. From 9am to 7 pm I have had approx 1000 cals.
i don’t plan on eating until 9 am at the earliest tomorrow so 14 hour fast.
I have approx 7 stone to lose. I have a reasonably physical job and on a work day I would easily do 800 steps at work alone.

Is 1000 calories too many, too few or about right?
