Thanks for setting up the new thread @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo.

Welcome as well to all the new joiners, good luck on your journey and do stick around, I’ve found the thread really supportive to share with others in a similar boat.

I’m on W3 day 5 today, 11 lbs down so far! Main symptoms have been feeling cold, fatigue, the odd mild headache and some constipation, all of which have been normal for me when I’ve been on ‘diets’ before.

I am keen to up my activity levels but the fatigue so far has been a bit tricky, I would honestly take myself up to bed at 8pm most evenings if I could!

DarkForces · 16/11/2024 08:12

Gettingbysomehow · 16/11/2024 04:37

It took me ages to work out the pen and Im an ex nurse!

I'm still not completely sure I'm using it right! Im
going to watch a film with instructions before jab 3!

Hundredthmillionthdiet · 16/11/2024 08:15

Weigh in day

SW - 85.5kg

WK1 W - 82kg - down 3.5kg - (7.7lbs)

Wk2 W - 81.3kg - down 0.7kg (1.5lbs)

Total lost (on mounjaro) - 4.3kg (9lbs)

That was a surprise.. I didn't think I had lost anything at all, so 1.5lbs off is good.

My mini goal is 79 kg.

Due to take my next injection later. Not entirely sure what my thoughts are on injection vs no injection yet as I feel I'm all over the place with it. Suppression/ craving and still really needing to do a proper 💩

JustAboutHangingInThere · 16/11/2024 09:13

I’m starting today. Nervous! Worried about side effects and recent stories in the press.

Thanks for all the advice. I just need to go for it!!!

Nomidoriforbiginnes · 16/11/2024 09:18

Hello, thanks for the new thread. So good to read everyone’s progress and tips. I took jab 4 last night and another 1.5lbs off taking me to 11lbs lost in total. I still have a long way to go but am actually full of hope that this has been the support I needed. Like so many of you I’m freezing all the time and yes the fatigue is off the charts and affecting my motivation to exercise. I feel like I’ve been quite lucky so far in terms of side effects and hope that continues when I move to 5mg after taking the bonus dose for my next jab.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and continues making good progress with minimal side effects.

WeakAsIAm · 16/11/2024 10:35

Morning so I'm W3 D4

SW 13st 6lb
Wk 1 -4lb
Wk 2 -4lb

I can feel the MJ starting to wear off towards the end of the week, I have food noise by D6/7 so plan to increase to 5mg with my next pen.

Side effects have been minimal I feel nausea when I haven't eaten for long periods, get dry mouth so drink lots of water and constipated. I think senna will be a regular thing for me, I'm usually more on the un regular side and eat porridge to keep me moving but it's just not quite enough now I'm on MJ.

Good luck all, to all those waiting and worrying about getting started just do it you'll be glad when you do and probably a little cross with yourself that you've delayed.

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 16/11/2024 10:43

W1 D3
The constipation has hit. 😢
Today I will be drinking (even) more water, eating more fruit and trying milled flaxseed for the first time.
Wish me luck...

ShaunaSadeki · 16/11/2024 10:49

Thank you @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo tagging us all must have been a mega effort. I posted on the old thread that I could have eaten and drunk much more yesterday but I didn’t.

W2 D4 here and I think the feeling really full after a teeny bit of food thing is not as strong this week, will see after breakfast.

I have consistently lost weight every single day since I started though, no gains or plateaus and I usually go up and down throughout the week.

I did Park Run earlier and my time was about 1.5 mins slower than last week but it was much harder. I am putting it down to how few carbs I have been eating and not having much in the tank.

But I went! despite a terrible nights sleep (usual for me, not MJ related).

Today will be a big test of suppression as have friends staying and a boozy afternoon/evening out. I can’t afford to feel awful as work will be mental next week, so that should help me.

Good luck to everyone trying to make good choices this weekend!

Madickenxx · 16/11/2024 11:20

Hi All and thanks @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo for the new thread.

I've just started week 4 so officially started in October but felt more at home here.

So far I've lost 8lbs in 3 weeks and I'm very happy with that. No side effects other than being thirsty which is a good reminder to drink water.

Way bigger than the weight loss is that my blood pressure has gone from really high to in the normal range and had bloods and my cholesterol has also gone from "in the red" (last measured April) to well within the normal range. Reading up on how MJ can improve blood pressure is what made me go for it and I couldn't be happier.

Hope you're all having a great weekend! I'm off Christmas shopping and really looking forward to it! Smile

Babymamamama · 16/11/2024 11:27

Morning all 🖐just joining I’ve been reading in the background and cheering you all on but wanted to say hi properly and participate.
I am on on week 2 on 2.5 dose. Lost 5 pounds so far. Feeling amazing with minimal nausea -and that’s only if I eat a bit too much. Game changer for me. I’ve been enjoying getting my steps in (what’s happened to me?) and eating small healthy portions. Also I’ve been enjoying various protein bars instead of some meals. Wishing all the nov starters well on their journeys.

MJloser · 16/11/2024 11:35

Hello, just joining in too! I've just taken my 3rd 2.5mg injection. Lost roughly 2kg in my first two weeks and pretty happy with that. Minimal side effects so far, usually a bit burpy in the day or so after the jab! I am feeling pretty tired though, not sure if this is a side effect of Mounjaro or a side effect of life, but I'm struggling to do as much exercise as I'd like. Has anybody else had this? I've been thinking I need to up my protein intake as well. What are other people doing to make sure they get enough protein?

Gettingbysomehow · 16/11/2024 12:01

Arglefraster · 16/11/2024 00:45

MrsMcvities It's not a plunge at all it's a slow gentle push but it is definitely not a pen click. You depress the plunger by about a couple of inches.(sorry)

The actual needle is very short & genuinely so tiny you don't feel it.

if it's seeing the injection that bothers you your DH could inject into the back of your arm.

i think your DH's suggestion of watching a video is good. Hope you can find a way through 💐

It really doesnt hurt. Dont do it like throwing darts. Just push it in gently but firmly. I didnt even feel it, its tiny.

ShaunaSadeki · 16/11/2024 12:20

i have been reading on Reddit that week 3 can mean the onset of side effects as the MJ builds up in your system and I am a bit scared now. Can any week 3ers or 4ers who didn’t initially have much in the way of side effects share how they fared please?

mydogisacloud · 16/11/2024 12:28

Afternoon!

Is it ok if I join?

Had my first dose of MJ last Sunday, weigh day is Friday though, so appreciate it doesn't quite tally up for the first week or so to compare!

On the starter dose of 2.5, week 1

SW: 101.9
CW: 99.9

Feeling good about the second dose tomorrow evening, and seeing how week 2 goes!

ThreeBootsOneGlove · 16/11/2024 12:43

Welcome to new joiners.

Thought some of you might appreciate this.

November Mounjaro Starters - Thread 2
evilharpy · 16/11/2024 13:21

My first pen is sitting in the fridge waiting to be opened. I'm going to take it tomorrow I think, I had a few things on yesterday and today that I didn't want to have side effects for.

Have watched a couple of very good instruction videos on youtube so am ready to go.

Hundredthmillionthdiet · 16/11/2024 13:27

Just took 3rd injection so officially W3D1.

Oh and I'm no longer constipated 🤣

Shallysally · 16/11/2024 13:31

Thank you @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo

Had first dose yesterday. Feel a bit weird today, not dizzy but not right. Head feels a bit tight too. I’ve been drinking plenty of water.
Is this a side effect please?

BlueWalker · 16/11/2024 13:37

@MrsMcvities injected my first dose this morning so W1 D1 - I had to steel myself but literally went "oh, is that it?" out loud because I genuinely didn't feel anything and felt silly for bracing! The plunge was easy after that.

Nomidoriforbiginnes · 16/11/2024 13:41

@ShaunaSadeki I haven’t noticed any increase in the minimal side effects I have had (mild headache week 1, fatigue and generally feeling cold weeks 2 and 3). Hoping that will continue!

ExtraOnions · 16/11/2024 13:46

Did my first jab earlier .. do W1 D1.

My husband isn’t keen, but like I said .. it could work.. it might not work .. I might get side effects and have to stop .. who knows. Let’s just see how it goes

redavocado · 16/11/2024 13:48

Thanks for the new thread @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo! I can't believe there are so many of us.

@ShaunaSadeki I've seen the same on Reddit but that hasn't been my experience of week three. I don't think it's been noticeably worse for side effects but I'm definitely more constipated this week.

Arglefraster · 16/11/2024 14:13

Fwiw the glp plotter doesn't really bear that out - it shows the bigger jump up at second jag.

No side effects for me (week 4) so far other than a dry mouth especially the day after the jab. The only thing I'm noticing now on week 4 is that I'm feeling a little hungry again so will need to decide whether to start my 5mg pen or go for the bonus dose.

jaromoun · 16/11/2024 15:53

i've had a good day so far. i woke up feeling a bit delicate but o drank more wine than i had planned. but for the first time i logged it in my calories. it took me over but then i remembered the weekly overview means i am still under overall.
i've done an 8 mile walk today with a walking group and feel good that i have had the energy to do it and that it will contribute to my health and well being.
food wise i had a one egg omelette with spinach onion and grated cheese for breakfast, half a ham may and rocket sandwich for lunch and that's it. just feeling a little peckish now but nothing that can't wait until i make tea.
i did think that once i wean off the jab at the other end i might put the same cash towards a personal trainer for a while to keep me motivated and on track and hopefully firm up. can't afford both together though so MJ it is for now.
