What's this graph showing exactly ?

If you scroll up it shows you what it's plotting (weekly dose of 2.5) but you can play with it & plot whatever dosing scheme you're interested in.

Thanks for the new thread !

LeanneJP · 16/11/2024 16:18

W2 D2 here, 5lb lost first week. SW 14 stone, GW 10 stone so just under 4 stone to go 😬 feeling very positive tho, suppression is very strong, almost to the point where I have to force myself to eat, and no side effects so far just cold hands and feet a few nights … which makes a change from menopausal constant night sweats. Haven’t told anyone I’m on it, not even DH. It’s so amazing not to be thinking about food all the time. I even had a night out two nights ago and had quite a lot of Prosecco, thankfully didn’t seem to have any negative effect. Bit nervous of moving up to 5mg next month but in it for the long haul. So pleased I started x

MsRumpole · 16/11/2024 16:21

Hello! I just received my first MJ pen (2.5 dose). Doing it as part of a weight management programme which costs a bomb but makes me feel a bit more comfortable than doing it alone as I have massive health anxiety at the best of times. I'm currently about 150kg, which is fairly awful; about 10 stone to lose, which will leave me overweight by BMI standards but at the weight that doctors seem to think is right for my build. Lucky enough to be in relatively good health and reasonably fit for that weight, but at nearly 50 don't feel my body can carry on fending off metabolic and joint problems much longer.

Was dithering earlier about whether to start now or wait for the next (stressful) work week to end, but I just looked at my diary and there's never really going to be a good time to do this so am just going to get on with it tonight I think (but actual decision will be made whilst staring at the pen before I go to bed).

PinkArt · 16/11/2024 16:57

Thanks for the new thread @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo
I'm on W2 D1. Like day 1 last week I have zero appetite. I've eaten some hideous protein yoghurt and raspberries today and that's it. I'm making the most of it as I'm often quite snacky at the weekend. I'm eating out a couple of times this week so I think it'll all balance out!
@MrsMcvities I'm not great with needles either. Not phobic with the needles themselves but I'm very squeamish so have never been able to look when I've had jabs etc. I can't stress enough how tiny the needle is - about a centimetre long and about the thickness of a piece of thread. It was actually seeing one on This Morning that made me think I could get past the squeamish and do this. It doesn't hurt, you don't feel anything from either the needle or the meds going in.

Goldleafcat · 16/11/2024 17:20

Thanks for the new thread!
W3 D6. 2.5mg.
Lost 6lb so far. Appetite suppression seems to be limited now although I have not once binged on food (a big issue for me since my teens - yo-yo overeating to serious under eating and occasionally making myself sick) (not good). In the past I’ve lost weight through serious calorie restriction - I have always struggled with my weight since a child. Managed to lose 7 stone from my heaviest through diet (woohoo) but have piled back on 4 stone (sad times).

Starting weight - 16 stone 6.5lbs
Current weight - 16 stone 0
Goal - 11 ish

Looking forward to the higher dose hopefully helping me keep on track. I do not underestimate the difference being slimmer makes me feel both mentally and physically.

Methemummy · 16/11/2024 17:50

@KeepCalmandGiveItaGo thanks for new thread.

W2 D2 here, 4lbs down so far, all side effects managable, slight headache, dry throaohas expected .... but I am so cold! I am wearing so many layers today and still sittings with a blanket over my legs.

I noticed last week I seem to lose some supression on day 5 last week. Which was a challenge but in a good way. It helps me manage ahead of life with MJ.

IndigoHexagon · 16/11/2024 17:52

Took my last 2.5 yesterday …. right arm is really difficult to do when you are right handed!

I have 5mg in the fridge ready for next week, and I’m contemplating topping this last one up with ‘the golden dose’ tomorrow or Monday. I’ll decide based on how hungry I get!

Anyone else considering that last dose? It just seems so wasteful to throw it away!

HulaHoopz · 16/11/2024 17:59

I've been on MJ since April and lost 2.5 stone. Remained on 5mg the entire time after initial dose.. it works so well for me.

Anyone else find this?

NikkiC1975 · 16/11/2024 19:05

Just got my approval through for MJ and waiting for confirmation to go and collect it.. I’m excited but really apprehensive about the side effects so am glad I’ve found this forum.

bananasplice · 16/11/2024 19:17

I posted on the other thread but am here now!

4th injection today and 5.1kg down so 11 lbs loss in 3 weeks.

So pleased, I have ordered the 5 pen so will increase the dosage next week.

Buttons0522 · 16/11/2024 19:39

Hi, can I join?
Week 2 day 2 here 2.5mg.
I am tired, cold hands and pretty moody but to be fair that is not unusual so possibly not a side effect! 😂
I’ve lost 6lbs so far, this stuff is incredible.
I was anxious about the needle but genuinely you don’t feel a thing! only thing that hurt was trying to prise open the sharps box when I accidentally closed it 🙄

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 16/11/2024 20:32

WeakAsIAm · 16/11/2024 10:35

Morning so I'm W3 D4

SW 13st 6lb
Wk 1 -4lb
Wk 2 -4lb

I can feel the MJ starting to wear off towards the end of the week, I have food noise by D6/7 so plan to increase to 5mg with my next pen.

Side effects have been minimal I feel nausea when I haven't eaten for long periods, get dry mouth so drink lots of water and constipated. I think senna will be a regular thing for me, I'm usually more on the un regular side and eat porridge to keep me moving but it's just not quite enough now I'm on MJ.

Good luck all, to all those waiting and worrying about getting started just do it you'll be glad when you do and probably a little cross with yourself that you've delayed.

Hey, just a quick reply on this as just heading out. Please please don’t take senna regularly! It is a stimulant laxative and can cause lazy bowel, GP’s advise against them for ongoing constipation. Go for an Osmotic laxative instead which is more gentle on the system (draws water into the bowel) when you need to take something daily to keep things soft and moving. Cosmocol and Laxido are examples of these, flavoured Cosmocol is much nicer than plain. x

JasonTindallsTan · 16/11/2024 20:54

Hi all, I took my first dose on Thursday evening. I’ve not told anyone including DH. I feel embarrassed although god knows why.

I had some very lucid dreams in Thursday night and felt a bit nauseous yesterday. I’ve been cold today and only reading through this thread did I realise it could be a side effect. Suppression has been reasonable. Definitely not fancied any snacking between meals. I do think I’m thinking about food a lot though, mainly because I keep wondering to myself ‘am I hungry?’ 🤦🏼‍♀️

I hope this works for me but I am a bit sceptical as I don’t eat because I’m hungry. I don’t even know why I eat too much. Addiction I guess.

Starting weight is 16 stone 8. Would love to lose 6 stone.

lovealongbath · 16/11/2024 20:58

Place marking, I am W1, D2. So far so good!

unicornsarereal72 · 16/11/2024 21:20

Evening all I have just done jab 4. All in all suppression has been good but had a few days I just ate absolute rubbish. Total loss in 3 weeks is 8lb. Which I'm ok with.

I need to decide if I order another 2.5 one or move up to 5. Also want to try and get 5th dose from this one if I can so that is my next challenge.

5 weeks until kids break up for Christmas so hoping to get to the one stone mark. We shall see

Good luck everyone

schoolmum11 · 16/11/2024 21:46

I did my first jab last Sunday and apart from being achy on day 1 I d been fine. My only issue is appetite suppression wore off my Friday. I've eaten quite a bit yesterday and today. Is that normal?

Fireangels · 16/11/2024 22:37

W1 D1. I’ve been moved onto MJ after being on Trulicity for a couple of years. I lost just over a stone on it in the first few months but nothing since, and it hasn’t helped by BS either.
I’m taking MJ to treat T2 diabetes, so as long as it is effective for this, any weight loss will be a bonus.
I’ve been put straight onto 5mg. I’ve bought some high protein shakes and yogurt and made some crustless mini quiches for small meals or snacks and have plenty of fruit and veg in, so I’m hopefully we’ll prepared.
Early days but no adverse effects!

MrsMcvities · 16/11/2024 23:48

Thank you to everyone who replied to me to calm my fears! I just took my first dose, had to really build myself up but 100% did not feel it which meant it didn’t feel like an actual needle so I managed it! I’ve spent a week looking at the bits and have not used the words injection or needle to remove to association and it really really helped to have first hand information like this thread so many many thanks! So proud of myself and happy to be starting (huge huge huge serious needle phobia for anyone who missed my post lol)

PinkArt · 16/11/2024 23:55

Well done @MrsMcvities . A friend of mine is similarly phobic and I was so proud of her when she managed to get the covid jab.

Arglefraster · 17/11/2024 00:00

That's so brave @MrsMcvities well done!

MrsMcvities · 17/11/2024 00:03

Thank you, so glad I put my big girl pants on!

MsRumpole · 17/11/2024 00:04

I've done it! First dose. Officially a November starter. Now trying to imagine eating a brownie as a thought experiment 😀

MrsMcvities · 17/11/2024 00:08

Ha! I had a little taste of fudge just before as an adios
