W4 D5 and suppression no where near the same since week 1 really, but I am sticking to small, nutritious meals when I have a choice and small meals regardless and not snacking, no more booze suppression whatsoever.

Was out for dinner with colleagues on a work trip on Thursday and they all wanted Franco Manca, I managed to only eat half but could have eaten the whole thing. Glad I didn’t as my stomach wasn’t too happy yesterday.

Avoided pastries at our work event and had half a cookie for brunch as while I was working the clients ate all the nice fruit salads and Bircher muesli pots. Then in the pub I managed to only have 2 mini tacos.

I am now definitely going to take whatever is left as the golden dose on Sunday and hope for the best on a long haul flight on Monday.

Took my 3rd 2.5mg jab last night, weighed in this morning at 15st 6lb so 10lb total loss now. Really happy, nice consistent loss.
Suppression surprisingly is quite good today but I don't know if anyone else gets this but the night after I jab I always wake up at 3:00am thirsty and have some weird dreams?!

I did notice at the gym yesterday I was starting to run out of energy on the cross trainer where I never have done previously.

Love this graph!

TrinityWaves · 29/11/2024 12:08

I'm now on W1D3 (although day 1 was only a half day really) and have slightly dry eyes - I understand from browsing the reddit threads (Mounjaro has been around in the US for a couple of years now?) I probably need to drink more water?!
I haven't seen anyone mention this side effect on MN though, actually. Has anyone else had this?

On the plus side, I've still lost ability to remember the taste of junk food (I tested a tiny bit of chocolate and it tastes the same if I actually eat it, I just can't picture it), so no longer craving it and I forgot to have lunch yesterday and suddenly realised about 3pm - I'd normally be starving by then.

IHateMozzies · 29/11/2024 09:37

Yes, although it would take you over the 30 day limit.

I will be extending over 30 days if I don’t go up to 5 straight away x

First post here but have been following everyones journeys all month. I'm W3D5 but, as a fella, wasn't quite sure if it was the done thing to join in the chat. Anyway, I see a couple of others are posting so.....

On the question of getting a higher strength pen and then using partial doses - I am definitely doing that to save money. I have my second (5mg) and third (7.5mg) pens in the fridge (buying from Simple Online Pharmacy who do 2-pen deals) and will use to step up to 3.75mg and then 5mg if needed. Given experience to date with good suppression still on 2.5mg, I can't imagine I'll need to go higher. Planning to order 2 10mg pens when it's time and continue this way.

Shelf-life unopened/unused is well over 12 months in the fridge and so, if stored cold between doses, I figure there's little risk of it going off over say 45-60 days. A personal choice/risk I am comfortable with.

My main question from here is whether or not it will be possible to continue long term on a low 'steady state' dose once I reach goal weight. Guess I have to talke to the pharmacy when I get there.

Hello everyone.
I have been following you great people for the past week as wasn’t sure whether to take the Mounjaro journey but have decided I will.

I would like to start off with a provider that gives advice and I can check in with. Please can I have some recommendations? Are they generally more expensive than other companies although perhaps this shouldn’t matter when I am starting out?

Any other tips for starting out please?

Thank you!

Based on this theory of 30 clicks is 2.5

could you buy the 5mg pen, only use 30 clicks to stay on 2.5 and the pen would last longer, thus saving money ?

I believe the pen should not be used after 30 days of opening, so only so long you can keep it for…

I’ve ordered a 2nd 2.5 one as 2.5 seems to be working well for me… just wondering if I can just inject 2 doses in one session if at any point I feel that’s not sufficient?

Funny you should mention it, I’ve noticed dry eyes last few days! Didn’t know it was a side effect!

I never get headaches either and I’ve had a slight headache for the last 2 days, almost constantly.

However, first week I’ve drink tons of water, 2nd week not so much…

I had lots of fibre (berries and chia mostly) yesterday and noticed that made my stomach a lot flatter and things moved along, so feel like that’s key. Last 24h I’ve had lots of water and that’s killed the headache and improved dry eyes.

Thus feels like loooads of water and fibre intake a key to feeling good on it.

Hi

I used Superdrug first time as I wanted to use someone I had heard of and they offered 33% off.

Only offered 10% off next pen so quickly moved on to MedExpress. Very easy to switch and came very quickly. I used a referral code and got £40 off (you can find mine in the referral thread or PM me 😉).

I then found out they price match as well, so got £24.99 credit for my next pen. Annoyingly if I waited another day to order, this would have been doubled!

I hope to stay with them if the price match continues. Hope that helps ☺️

They also send a few emails with info, but I find Mumsnet and Reddit the most useful source of help and info.

UpToonGirl · 29/11/2024 14:25

Just done my first 5mg dose. Didn't want to try a golden dose on the old pen or count the clicks for 3.75 as I worry I would just convince myself the dose wasn't correct and spend a week questioning how I feel, if that makes sense!

The past few days I've had the metallic taste in my mouth which I know is a relatively common side effects but I've also got an ulcer/blister on my tongue. Not sure if it's related, I do get the occasional ulcer but this is right in the middle of my tongue which I've not had before.

Ordered a Costa this morning as DH was slightly hungover and I wasn't tempted to get a bacon buttie or even a croissant, just a latte. I've probably saved at least half the cost of the pens on not ordering random junk food!

I’m with Numan who are brilliant with the advice and also do regular check ins, you can basically have as much or as little communication as you like.

Reading here I do believe that they are more expensive than others but that wasn’t really a consideration for me as I really value the support.

I may swap once I’m confident that I’m able to go it alone but currently I can’t even think about that. It’s strange but I’d almost feel like I’d let my health coach down if I fell off the wagon so that’s another incentive to do the right things and make the right choices.

There is also a clinical team just a click away if you need them which is reassuring.

So far I’m happy, but it is only week 4 😆

Thanks for replying - I will up the fluid in take then. Just so hard weeing so much!!

I've had a mild headache today also but I'm very prone to headaches (usually barometric) so it's very hard to tell. I had a headache all day Monday and Tuesday and I started Mounjaro Wednesday, so it definitely can't be to blame for then!

Jabtastic · 29/11/2024 15:21

New, unexpected side effect - I can no longer eat eggs. Eggy burps swiftly follow and diarrhea/ loose stools. The first time it happened just seemed like bad luck but now it has happened again today. RIP eggs!

Editing to say - perhaps I can eat an egg anytime I have constipation!

Jellybaby30 · 29/11/2024 16:07

Really enjoy reading how everyone is doing. End of week 4 and have no suppression and eating more so I think I'll do my 5mg tonight but scared of being ill so may do 45 or even 50 clicks to keep it a little below 5mg. Will report back over weekend 🤞

Drum roll please….i stepped on the scales this morning and my weight starts with a 12 for the first time in about 10 years! 🥳

(Tbf 12st 13.8lbs but I’ll take that 😂)

I’m not off to eat chocolate or drink wine in celebration either - I shall be playing tennis instead 😉

Awesome !! I cant wait to see -1 on my starting figure St 🙏

First time I've fancied a glass of wine today. Bad day at work! So far I've resisted. Have hardly eaten today though so really do need to find something for dinner once I've finished working.

Hi what was the name of the company you price matched with?

Thanks

I deffo feel it wearing off in the last two days and I’ve been counting down to the next one. I do Wednesday so it wears off on a Monday/Tuesday when it is easier not to go overboard.

i have been reading on Reddit that week 3 can mean the onset of side effects as the MJ builds up in your system and I am a bit scared now. Can any week 3ers or 4ers who didn’t initially have much in the way of side effects share how they fared please?

Im week three and its the only week I have t been sick.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 29/11/2024 19:34

Looking for a bit of advice, please. I should have injected dose 3 yesterday, but I was out for my work Christmas do. I am ridiculously hungover today and dreading the potential interaction between hangover and MJ. Option 1: take it just before bed and hopefully sleep off any ill-effects. Option 2: just take it tomorrow first thing. What would you do?

NoOneAtTheInn · 29/11/2024 19:39

Hey everyone ... week 2 day 6 here so 2nd weigh in tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Am hungover from a night out last night, my first time drinking on MJ and the aftermath is bad.
Plus I am absolutely starving today. So strange how don't want food for days and then suddenly ravenous.

I would leave it til the morning when you are feeling better the half life of the drug is long so topping it up a day late will make minimal difference.

It’s annoying isn’t it, been considering doing mine tonight instead of tomorrow night so a day early but don’t know if that’s a silly idea lol I’ve just been so hungry and groggy feeling today.
