Shall we have a quick round robin and see what day and dose we’re up to?

I’m on W2 D2, dose 2.5mg. Suppression good and not wanting to snack, a bout of loose tum today but mostly needing to carry on with my constipation medication (long term issue for me), a bit cold and tired today but overall happy so far!

Thank you for starting new thread @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo

I've only just started; took first dose of 2.5mg yesterday, so W1 D2.

Pumpkinforever · 15/11/2024 22:08

W2 D5 on 2.5. Away this weekend and trying to be good

flyinghen · 15/11/2024 22:49

Hey, please can I join!

I've literally just done my first 2.5 injection 20 minutes ago 🙈

So anxious about side effects!

Shallysally · 15/11/2024 22:53

Hi all, first dose this afternoon, excited to finally start after lots of procrastination 🙈

W2 D3 here. Side effects seem pretty minimal and appetite well controlled. My mum keeps reading horror stories about Mounjaro but I think it's a miracle. Would like to get down from 14 to 10 stone. About 4lb down so far and booze free since I started

Hi flyinghen, yes and welcome! 👋 well done! Try not to panic, there’s things we can do to help ease most of them if they occur. I will just copy paste a note I made following an introduction call with Voy as they ran through starting up:

“Key takeaways: important to stay hydrated (1.2 - 2L per day) thirst can be dampened so need to make sure to drink enough. Plain diet especially initially, smaller and more often is best. Avoid trigger foods: Rich, fatty, spicy Balanced plate approach; 1/2 veg, 1/4 protein, 1/4 carb & matchbox size healthy fat.
Resistance training helps minimise muscle loss (doesn’t need to be heavy weights) protein also important/ good for this.

MJ pen can be taken at different time on your chosen day, it is long acting so same time is not super necessary

Can take a few weeks for appetite suppression to kick in. This is quite common.
Get Gaviscon and check rennies.”

All the very best and let us know how you get on!

W3 D1
feel pretty good other than fatigue.
Any one else feel like this? The only comparators I have are first trimester or when I have a migraine coming on. Fine so long as I'm moving but the second I stay still I start yawning & want to lie on the floor I'm so tired🤷‍♀️

sleeping more doesn't seem to make a difference 😵‍💫

any suggestions? (Not caffeine!)

Yeah my mum is the same, have been avoiding the subject with her 😬 does she know you’re on MJ? Well done on your loss and the booze too! 👍

I’m wondering about this too as was a bit tired today, then v tired by evening and just came to bed early (and MN from here! 😂)

I’m wondering if this might be partly (or mostly) due to being in a much bigger calorie deficit to normal? Also sustaining this big deficit daily whereas normally I’d have days where the cals would be much higher from snacking or the odd takeaway etc. Has been a particularly busy week for me and maybe doing loads on low cals has caught up a bit.

I think fatigue is also listed as a side effect from the WLI, also I have an autoimmune so it could be from one or a combo of any.

Yes. I've decided to own it and say I'm using it.

I don't think it's calories for me because it started from about 36hrs after first dose, my cals aren't that low & I don't feel like this when doing extended fasts 😆

MrsMcvities · 16/11/2024 00:02

Ahh I just put mine back in the fridge for another night of procrastinating..
tomorrow is the day for sure lol spent rhe last few days disassociating the pen from a needle so my husband told me to watch videos on how to administer because I’m so scared of needles and instead here I am! (I know all the science of the medicine I’ve read papers and fully understand the medicine itself)

can anyone tell me how much of a ‘plunge’ you have to do when you push the button to administer the dose? I had in my head it was just like clicking a button/pen but I’m worried it’s more of a plunge than I thought (I might sound crazy here but I’m trying to hush my phobia)

Arglefraster · 16/11/2024 00:45

MrsMcvities It's not a plunge at all it's a slow gentle push but it is definitely not a pen click. You depress the plunger by about a couple of inches.(sorry)

The actual needle is very short & genuinely so tiny you don't feel it.

if it's seeing the injection that bothers you your DH could inject into the back of your arm.

i think your DH's suggestion of watching a video is good. Hope you can find a way through 💐

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 16/11/2024 00:55

<waves> Thanks @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo for setting up a new thread!

W1D2, 2.5mg. No side effects so far, fingers crossed for weight loss!

@MrsMcvities I was surprised at how far out you have to wind the pen before you insert it, but I swear it doesn’t hurt. Go for it - you’ve spent all this money now!

MrsMcvities · 16/11/2024 01:07

Thank you both! It doesn’t look like a needle so I’ve been telling my self it’s a pin. Good to know it’s a couple of inches to press I was not expecting that.. stupid irrational fear

Gettingbysomehow · 16/11/2024 04:36

I took my first injection today 2.5 mgs. I feel abdolutely fine but have woken up at 4am and my stomach sounds like a washing machine on spin cycle, my mouth is like the bottom of a parrots cage and my hands are freezing but thank goodness no nausea. I hate that. Drink more water I think.

Gettingbysomehow · 16/11/2024 04:37

It took me ages to work out the pen and Im an ex nurse!

November2024 · 16/11/2024 04:39

Week 3 (2.5mg) 7lbs down.

Less impulse and emotional eating.

Feel full quicker.

No side effects yet!

@Gettingbysomehow me too 😂
