Ha! I had a little taste of fudge just before as an adios

Yeah, I had a chunk of banana bread earlier as a last hurrah (though honestly the last two weeks has been an extended last hurrah and I basically need to start by losing the weight I have put on in that time)

MrsMcvities · 17/11/2024 00:19

Glad I’m not alone with this! I’ve def shown myself that I do need to try this route lol

PinkArt · 17/11/2024 01:14

I had chips and sticky toffee pudding in my last meal before jabbing. I figured if I was lucky and the appetite suppression was great that I would like to enjoy both before I started not enjoying them!

Mounjaropen · 17/11/2024 04:43

Thanks for the new thread @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo

It’s been my birthday weekend. Drank far too much on Friday and ended up sick as a dog yesterday morning which was to be expected I suppose…! I also had friends coming for lunch yesterday so I spent the morning cooking but didn’t once pick whilst I cooked. Had a bowl of Cadbury’s heroes on the side and whilst everyone was tucking in, I didn’t feel the need to join in. I did have a few modest glasses of wine. DH is coming down with a cold so I’m hoping I don’t catch it as I’m in the zone exercise-wise. Overall, I’m not expecting the scales to have moved this week, but friends did say I looked like I’ve lost weight which was nice to hear. One of my mates has lost a ton of weight (around 10ish stone) and had to have surgery to remove excess skin so it’s made me quite determined to continue with the toning exercises as well as cardio.

Weigh-in last week was 13st 4
Starting weight was 13st9
it’s W2D6 for me.

So far, no serious side effects 🤞

MrsMcvities · 17/11/2024 06:52

ooo feel like I’ve got really bad morning sickness today, came over me like a huge rush cold sweats, dizzy, shaking, had to run and sit in front of the toilet but it passed quickly with no actual sick. Hope this isn’t a common occurrence!

@Mounjaropen fab with the hero’s & snacking! Glad you had a good birthday

MsRumpole · 17/11/2024 07:16

@MrsMcvities oh no! Hopefully that's it. I feel ok at the moment but I haven't sat up yet 😬

LimeLace · 17/11/2024 07:30

Just placemarking on this thread. I’m W2D3 and feeling positive. I love the support everyone is giving each other here. Let’s keep this up - we can do this!

Bisognodelsole · 17/11/2024 07:36

Well done everyone who has taken the plunge and thanks for the new thread. I’m really pleased with how it’s going so far. 9lbs lost in first two weeks and I can tell I’ll have lost more when I do next weigh in and jab on Tuesday. Have my first online coaching session with Voy this morning.
I’ve had no negative side effects so hope this continues.
Don’t know if it’s the MJ or just feeling good about losing weight but I feel so much more positive. I have more energy and am sleeping really well. Being super efficient and the procrastination seems to have disappeared along with the food noise.
Anyone else?

AlwaysTimeForWine · 17/11/2024 07:38

I took my first jab at 7pm last night:

W1 D1
Age - 47
Height - 5ft 9"
SW - 15st 9lb
BMI - 32.4

I've already lost 7lbs in the last few months. I had a health check in Sep and all they could focus on was my weight, despite my blood pressure, risk of diabetes and cholesterol all being low. I then had a smear test a few weeks later and was told I was higher risk of cancers due to being obese.

From September, pre MJ my SW was 16st 2lbs and my BMI - 33.4. So I'm pleased my BMI has already gone down a point. But to get to BMI 25 I have to lose 4 stone which seems mad. I'm big and tall and have some muscle so will take that with a pinch of salt and see how it goes.

I've been thinking seriously about MJ since Easter but oven been too frightened to try it, worried about the judgement of others and about managing side effects while working.

But then I decided that the risk of developing health complications if I carried on gaining weight was worse!!

So wish me luck.

I was amazed that I couldn't even feel the needle - it was so easy.

I developed a headache before bed. And I've been awake since 4.45am which is annoying as I'll be tired later. I don't sleep deeply anyway but insomnia isn't usually an issue for me so I hope that's not the jab.

BleachedJumper · 17/11/2024 07:39

Happy belated birthday @MounjaropenFlowers I’m sorry you had a terrible hangover feeling, but well done for sticking with the motivation, The mj is an amazing tool, but it’s still down to us to not indulge in things like chocolates to excess.

I had a rubbish night sleep, DP went to the pub yesterday to watch the rugby so didn’t get home until after 10 filled up with beers and he woke me up at half 4 going to get a glass of water, then he fell fast asleep with some almighty snoring. I gave up and went to the spare room but I struggle to get back to sleep once I’m up. I was so looking forward to a lay in! The fatigue has probably been my biggest side effect so far, I can see it being another sofa day today.

As far as the scales go this week has been a lot slower, but I know it’s because I’ve been constipated. My official weigh in is Monday/Tuesday but I’m a regular one for stepping on the scales, for me it keeps me on track but I know it’s not for everyone.

46mumof6 · 17/11/2024 07:47

I'm doing this with my daughter, we both have over 10 stone to lose so will be on it long term.

Currently W3 D3, I have lost 10.5lbs and my daughter has lost 16lbs!!

The best thing though is I quit smoking as well last Saturday and haven't craved one and finding it easy not wanting to smoke.

Here's to us all to have a successful week and a good weigh in Flowers

That's brilliant! Well done. Just think of the health changes already with giving up smoking and losing weight!!

NCMounjaro · 17/11/2024 08:30

Hi, please can I join... I'm W1 D6 on 2.5mg
So far not too bad with side effects and suppression is awesome. I feel like I can eat like a normal person and no thoughts of bingeing or diving into the biscuits tin when I'm peckish. I've had a sneaky peak at the scales and I've lost around 6lbs which is amazing but I know may just be water etc. and I have 6+ stone to lose. Feeling hopeful for a chance at resetting years of abusing my body with food and getting a much healthier outlook. Hope to keep up with everyone here too as I find others experiences really helpful Smile

Wow! That’s amazing. Honestly, this feels like the one ‘diet’ I won’t get bored of/ can’t stick to. Such a crutch to lean on

Good luck to you and your DD.

Thanks guys for the birthday wishes 🥰

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 17/11/2024 09:55

Hi everyone and warm welcome to all the new starters! 👋 Thank you for your replies for setting up thread 2, I see multiple threads before us as we start and continue our journeys down in the weeks and months to come 🩷 I’d love to reply to everyone but can’t keep up, haha! There’s so many of us now on thread 1 & 2.

Happy Sunday everyone and look forward to catching up here later and see how we’re all getting on :)

@46mumof6 this is incredible for both you and your daughter - well done! Especially with giving up cigarettes too. I don’t smoke but drink too much wine (so calorific) so this is inspirational.

Gettingbysomehow · 17/11/2024 11:04

Feeling so sick on 2.5mgs and zero desire to eat. I made 2 boiled eggs thinking they are bland so I should be ok. They tasted like Satan's testicles.
I really dont think I'll be able to go above 5mgs tbh.

TeenLifeMum · 17/11/2024 11:39

Hi, please can I join? After a year of weight loss attempts I’ve failed and hit obese. Picked up my pen yesterday and I’ve read the instructions. Once the dog moved from my lap I’ll attempted injection number 1. Feeling like I’ve failed (which I know is unhelpful and I wouldn’t judge anyone else so harshly).
sw 12st 9

Feels like heading towards Christmas might not be the best time but I can’t keep putting it off. Hoping this community can be an outlet as I can’t share in rl.

Whattodowithaminute · 17/11/2024 11:52

Really positive to hear all the stories and progress. I’ve noticed a dampening of the effects this week, last week zero interest in food overall and this week a few mindless extra bits being eaten here and there, chips from some plate, left over rib all adding up and I need to get back in the self
control mindset for it to be successful…

andfinally10 · 17/11/2024 11:59

Thanks for the new thread.... so much to read!
I wanted to change my day from Friday to Sunday so I'm due my second dose today (2 days later than due)... at some point. But, like last week, I'm terrified again. Arghh. Also I've not told anyone, not even husband, so I have to find somewhere to do it as everyone is home. May have to go and "sort the garage". I'll be left alone there for sure 😆
I'm scared again of the injection, of feeling nauseous again, of feeling fatigue, fear of something worse etc etc. I didn't love much of last week bar the 4lb weight loss. Having you all here makes me brave tho. Lovely group!
My plan - I'll jab at 4pm and flail on the sofa for a couple of hours before I start dinner cooking. That's the plan....

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 17/11/2024 12:09

Deep breath andfinally10 you can do this! Rooting for you! 💪
If you want to stay incognito would a ‘pop to the shops’ in your car be less noticeable? Park up some where quiet to do it? Only thinking if I told my family I was heading out to our freezing garage it might raise some eyebrows (as have been complaining about being cold and dealing up the heating! 😂)

Yes totally TeenLifeMum come join us! :) I think we can all relate to feelings of failure but really biologically it is hard to swim against the tide when our bodies are stuck in fat storage mode (for whatever reason or combination of reasons) and we’re relying on steely willpower to push through. I’m only half way through week 2 but already this feels different, significant weight loss to get to a healthy weight finally (FINALLY) feels achieveable!

Also try to relax and not worry about the jab, it is so fine and short you barely feel it, most of us don’t feel anything at all. Let us know how you get on
