First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

Nice, thanks for that. I was just coming on to say that the feelings on day 1 are not at all what I was expecting. I injected yesterday afternoon. Today I have been able to comfortably eat but I did dish up smaller plates as I was nervous about feeling uncomfortable. Whilst I didn't feel very full, I wasn't necessarily hungry so just didn't have more and those meals sustained me so much longer than I would normally go for. I am usually hungry all day long if trying "to be healthy".
I have had a couple of pieces of chocolate but I really think those were habit rather than true desire which was something so interesting to notice in myself and definitely something I need to stop and think about to cut out those kind of bad habits even if it is such low volumes to what I've done before.
Very interested to see what tomorrow brings but I am happy so far!

WafflingDreamer · 12/10/2024 20:10

Thanks for the new thread!

I'm day 5 today and I've not been hungry but I've definitely been much more aware of food for the first time since I injected.

RhubarbandCustardYummyYummy · 12/10/2024 20:14

can I join? Day 2 for me - not noticing too much yet but only ate half my dinner which is a novel experience for me! I have 2 under 3 so trying Mounjaro to get back to myself as struggling with tiredness and motivation while balancing kids / work - felt like I needed the Mounjaro to get myself started with weight loss

Doghairismyglitter · 12/10/2024 20:32

well the jab has always rendered me insane as I’ve just fostered a puppy this evening 🙈
least it will help with exercise moving forwards!
I’ve eaten a graze flapjack, a sandwich and half a jacket potato and beans today, definitely more than the other days but still feeling supressed even though it’s my second jab tomorrow

PickleSarnie · 12/10/2024 20:50

Thanks for the new thread!

And new puppy @Doghairismyglitter 😍I so want a dog but we have extension going on (and on and on) and need to get that out the way first.

I've found I'm still hungry but I eat a child sized portion of anything and I'm completely full. Have managed to resist the truffle cheese my husband is sat eating next to me. But only just!

Maggi85 · 12/10/2024 20:55

Thanks for setting up the new thread. I need to get some more healthy snack in to ensure I’m getting nutrients in and make this sustainable.

Bakedpumpkin · 12/10/2024 21:11

Thanks for the new thread!

I am day 6 now - I complained about not feeling suppressed at all but on day 4 I started to feel fuller. Well I have managed to have a KFC today for dinner without any issue but I have still ended the day on 2000 cals which is a lot less than a normal Saturday so I am hoping it is having some effect. Jab 2 is tommorow evening.

FuckOffGerms · 12/10/2024 21:22

Thanks for the new thread!

I’m day 3, nausea has disappeared. I’ve really struggled to eat - not remotely hungry or thinking about food. I made the DCs tea without wanting to pinch a bit and forced down some pasta this evening.

I went food shopping today and picked up a load of healthy stuff.
Also got some easy stuff such as a couple of protein meals from aldis ready meal section. I haven’t seen them before but thought they would be alright to try. Never normally buy ready meals

I realised that whenever I feel full, I feel guilty. It's really messed up.

PepsiMaxandPringleStacks · 12/10/2024 21:55

Back on for thread 2! I took second dose on Wednesday and had an upset stomach yesterday morning and today. The only thing I hadn't tried yet was cheese so I'm assuming that was the cause of the upset?

Today was my first lie in and it was a big mistake, I woke up at 9.30 and hadn't had anything to eat since around 6pm Friday night and although I wasn't actively hungry I was so so shakey!! I've been very thirsty all day today too!

Vegemite123 · 12/10/2024 21:59

Hello! I took my first injection 48 hours ago and seem to be really lucky with side effects!

Not sure if it’s working, or I’m just too scared to overeat! But either way, I’m certainly finding it much easier to stick to my daily calories (I lose weight when I track. Nothing wrong with my metabolism, I’m just a terrible emotional eater).

I’ve been a bit headachy. I’m not sure if that’s the lower calories or the tail end of a cold, though.

I’m keeping my treatment a secret. And we have friends visiting, so it feels a bit like I’m lying when I’m being careful to limit my morning granola, or skip the second glass of wine.

Dazzledee · 12/10/2024 22:25

I've just taken my second injection. Had some horrible side effects during week 1, so hoping they settle this week. Lost 8lbs in week 1 - I hardly ate anything though due to the side effects. If they continue this week I think I'll need to accept this isn't for me, which is a shame as I've at least 4 stone to lose and I feel confident that this is the way to do it!

Theonewhogotaway · 12/10/2024 22:38

day 1 for me too, I’ve been ok. My appetite is definetly reduced, however I’ve consciously eaten less but I’ve not felt the need for it, so it’s been easy, usually I’m ravenous. I’ve eaten about 1000 calories, I’ve done about 2.5 litres of water.

i feel a little nauseous, and I felt like I might get bad guts, that gurgle, but I’m aware I took a pysyllum husk this morning, which maybe the cause of the latter…😳

LolaLouise · 12/10/2024 22:45

I took my second injection today too, a day early, but i got zero effect from week one, i thought id give a 6 day cycle a go. Really hoping it works, as although my week 1 loss was decent, it was 100% self motivated and rubbish

Your comment has just really struck a chord… I’m feeling really bad today. I’m on day 4.
I had a healthy breakfast, didn’t have a proper lunch, fruit and some raw cashews but have given in this evening to tuna and coleslaw in some French stick, a packet of skips and three squares from a large toblerone and I’m overly full and feeling like I really let myself down today, I feel guilty because I’m full, if I was hungry I wouldn’t have that guilt and that is so wrong

I’ve actually preferred the days where I’ve had a bit of an appetite, as I’ve looked forward to my meals and eating them, but then after a very small amount I feel completely full and can just stop.

The days where I’ve had zero appetite at all have had the most amount of nausea, headaches and shakey feelings.

I’m nervous for my first weigh in tomorrow morning!

doodlydooo · 13/10/2024 00:41

Thank you @Fizzleaway for the new thread.

Today (or yesterday now that it's half past midnight) was Day 1 for me. I had a slight headache most of the day.

It could be the excitement of being on MJ or it could be the medicine taking action already but
I noticed my willpower was better than usual.

We were out all day, and I would usually get sugary drinks or smoothies from cafes throughout the day, or I would have ordered starters and dessert but I stopped myself. But also I don't know if I was scared of unwanted side effects whilst out and so didn't go for a side of chips etc because of that.

I probably let myself get too hungry or it just hasn't kicked in but my meals for the day was:

Breakfast: none
Lunch: half a white muffin, 2 poached eggs, some smoked salmon, some green beans and 2 tablespoons of hollandaise sauce. I started to feel a bit nauseous towards the end of the meal. But again, as it was the first thing I was eating after taking MJ for the first time the night before, I don't know if I was just being too anxious and making myself feel sick.
Dinner: large bowl of broccoli and cheese soup with some sourdough and 3 large king prawns on the side
Snack: steamed corn on the cob (half of one cob)

My TDEE is 2078 so I'm aiming for 1578. Does that sound too much? At the moment I feel like I can definitely eat that much.

Fizzleaway · 13/10/2024 05:58

Iv woken up this morning super early for no reason and I have a massive headache. Just took some paracetamol as there is no way I can go back to sleep with such a pounding head

Same her- I am on week two and feeling a little more nauseous than last week. Also just woke up with a headache and feeling quite hot.
not sure if it is the drug or just general under the weather 🤷‍♀️

Tulip8 · 13/10/2024 07:01

Thank you for the responses at the end of the last thread, sorry I can't tag!

My post was just feeling absolutely wiped out all day Saturday after my first injection on Friday.

I woke at 5.30am to let the dog out and usually I would snack at the fridge already! Awful I know 😞 I haven't today, I think that's just my willpower though, because this medication is expensive, and I don't want to screw up!
