First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

May be a silly question and can't look at instructions right now as I'm at work.
The pen came im cold packaging...do I continue to store in fridge in between uses?

Jabtastic · 24/10/2024 10:48

You don't have to after first dose taken.

I asked med express as I was concerned it wasn’t cold when it arrived and had been held at the post office over the weekend. They said it’s fine for 30 days.

Do you think it leaves less of a bruise if to inject it at room temp rather than from the fridge? I go swimming a fair bit and go to a physio for a hip issue. I did my the thigh and I have a huge bruise. I don't want anyone to ask me any questions. I could do my stomach next time I suppose.

I haven't bruised one since the first initial one which I did straight out the ice packs on delivery.
I moved mine to a drawer upstairs as I didn't want any of my teens seeing it.

Pegsmum · 24/10/2024 11:50

@EVK I am debating whether to stay on 2.5 dose too, for a few more weeks anyway. I’m going to order the 5mg pen though is that what you have done?

Cheris · 24/10/2024 11:56

LumionaMoonsplash · 24/10/2024 07:28

Today's a good day to start, it took a few days to fully kick in for me. I'd prefer full suppression effects on the weekend as that is when all healthy eating goes out of the window for me, not to mention the weekend wine habit.

Darn itt! I wish I'd thought of this!! I did my first shot yesterday, so could be worse, but I wish I'd waited a day now!

Carlyisla · 24/10/2024 12:30

Started on 2.5 Monday and I’m not going to lie it hit me like a train, total food aversion to the point of vomiting up just a coffee 🙈 surviving off a forced in 400 cals a day! Day 4 and I feel less sick just completely disinterested in food but at least I can force in some more calories now.

My next injection isn’t due until Sunday. I have had my first NSV today! One inch off bust waist and hips. Still big, but it’s a start. Glad I took the measurements now.
I’m stuck at home waiting for my Oushk delivery from Royal Mail. They’ve said it’s out for delivery today, but no time as yet. I thought I’d try Royal Mail this time as DPD were a day late last time.

KolaKoalaKan · 24/10/2024 13:11

I'm another staying at 2.5 for now @EVK. I'm in week 3. I think I will stay at 2.5 as long as supression remains. Will then go up to 3.75. I've got a lot of weight to lose so it makes sense to scale up slowly. And I feel human this week as my side effects have settled but I have good suppression. I was so unwell last week! The thoight of doubling the dose feels scary to me so if this dose stops working it's magic I will go to 3.75 first anyway.

MrsBeefy · 24/10/2024 13:25

@EVK im staying in 2.5 too just done my 4th dose of first pen and have another being delivered tomorrow in time to start second pen next week. I’ve lost 12 lbs in 3 weeks so want to stay on low dose as long as I’m seeing results x

WafflingDreamer · 24/10/2024 13:35

I'm tempted to go up to 3.75mg and try that for a while but obviously with a 5mg pen.

I have barely any suppression and definitely could have eaten loads this week, I'm on week 3 due jab 4 on Monday.

I've heard a lot of people saying they got 3.75mg as their bonus dose so at the moment my plan is to see what's left over in my pen and how that works for me then decide whether to go up to 5mg or stick with 3.75mg.

HansHolbein · 24/10/2024 13:42

Hi all,

W2D2 for me. Feeling good. No side effects. No thoughts about food or planning food. Suppression good. I did have my first rumbly tummy this morning which was weird!

I’m also thinking of doing another month on 2.5mg. I’m feeling good on it so reluctant to move up a dose. I still have 6.5st to lose so I don’t want to jump up the doses too quickly.

Thinking ahead to ordering my next pen. When is everyone ordering? Week 3? Week 4 after the 4th jab?

@ApolloandDaphne Always keep mine in the fridge and I inject into my tummy. No bruising so far..

@Carlyisla Fantastic! It’s amazing how this drugs knocks it dead! It was pretty much immediate for me, too. Some days I really do have to force myself to eat. Sometimes the thought of eating makes me feel sick.

@letshavetea Yay a NSV! Agree, measurements are important. I took mine this week and will keep doing them. Hopefully, if I don’t lose weight one week, I will lose inches so that will keep me motivated. I’m trying to take lots of pictures… which are horrendous but I would like to look back and see how far I’ve come.

Mounjarjar · 24/10/2024 14:46

Sorry, I’m sure that this has been mentioned somewhere on the thread but how do you get a 3.75 dose? I thought the pens were automated

WafflingDreamer · 24/10/2024 14:47

As you turn the top of the pen it makes a click noise and you can count the clicks to get a partial dose or you can draw it up in a syringe

killamounjaro · 24/10/2024 14:57

@RunSlowTalkFast I think I read 2.5 dose is 0.6ml..... so that being the case 3.75 would be 0.9ml..... and a 3mg dose would be 0.72ml
I would measure this in an insulin needle though because I can't get my head around the clicks!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 24/10/2024 15:19

@RunSlowTalkFast I personally wouldn’t risk upping your dose on your fourth jab, but waiting till your fifth then take the 3.75 that’s left as it’s a nice bridge up to the 5mg. Your body is still getting used to the drug and that’s why we increment up slowly, I wouldn’t want to risk the side effects. I haven’t had very good suppression (I don’t think) and I’m impatient to move up through the doses as well but I definitely don’t want the vomiting and diarrhoea.

SunQueen24 · 24/10/2024 16:25

Day 1 - So I injected at about 9am and had catastrophised so much in my head I was expecting to be laid up immediately with D&V.

Had a rare day with DH home and he suggested we did a 3.5mile walk involving a huge hill. Had visions of D&V kicking in mid way round but so far I’ve felt nothing.

Not sure if it’s too soon but we got back and I could only eat half my lunch - which was batch cooked and proportioned and not huge.

So far, so good.

Jabtastic · 24/10/2024 16:28

I'm still getting food noise but after one day I was probably expecting a miracle to be honest 😅 but it's not because I'm hungry it's because it's a habit.

Yeah I’ve realised I’m not hungry but I’m habitually thinking about food. Not helped by having young kids as I am thinking about what to give them (and therefore me) for tea.

Jabtastic · 24/10/2024 16:40

I just started eating a cookie. I felt sick from the first bite but I ate two more bites before giving up. Then I ate a packet of Pombears - 13g. They're lying in my stomach like a stone. I felt like I was conducting an experiment on myself!

I'm slightly worried that I will need a high dose to get total suppression but that suppression will just mean 'too nauseous to eat' rather than genuinely turning off food noise. Early days though. Like literally one day after first jab.

Do you need total suppression though - I’d like to see a reduction in my appetite but I’d like to still be able to eat!

Tohaveandtohold · 24/10/2024 17:52

I don’t want total suppression really, I like the way the 3 weeks has been going, there’s suppression but I can still eat and enjoy food. So I basically forget I’m hungry but when I remember, because I’m not desperately hungry, I think of what I’m picking to eat and do that sensibly. I get full quicker as well.
@SunQueen24 , it’s week 3 for me and I’ve not had nausea or diarrhoea so sometimes we over think things and it’s fine in the end. That’s why I’m not rushing to up my dose as I’m not having any side effects and still losing weight so will increase it steadily

Jabtastic · 24/10/2024 17:58

Yes sorry I mean more suppression of eating rubbish while still wanting healthy food. I'm not calorie counting but I just want to eat smaller portions of healthy food.
