First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

Yes..hunger is physical, food noise is mental.

Thank you! I think I need to start tuning I'm to my body more and see if I can start distinguishing between it all.

BeckyBloom · 13/10/2024 11:22

I think I was hoping for magic to happen... I'll plod on then..

BeckyBloom · 13/10/2024 11:31

Can I just ask... do you jab at the same time on same day of the week?

Bee16 · 13/10/2024 11:43

Had my first jab last night around 9pm. So far today I've not been hungry but no idea if that's just placebo or if it can work that quickly. I have around 5 or 6 stone to lose so I'm really hopeful this will work for me.

Yes, did your provider not send you info when you were approved?

Corliss98 · 13/10/2024 11:48

I took my first jab yesterday. It didn’t hurt at all. There’s been a few eggy burps but I’ve had that before when I’ve overeaten so I’m used to it. The lack of food noise has been amazing. The lack of desire and need to overeat has also disappeared. I’m very much an emotional binge eater so being relaxed around food has never happened. It has always been on my mind. I feel strangely calm. The appetite suppression has surprised me as a bit of stress can have me reaching for the crisps, feeling guilty and then going on a binge.

This was a bit of a last resort as I’m classed as obese and I’ve got kids and two have special needs who really need me to be healthy so I’m around for them as long as possible.

I don't.. morning , afternoon, evening. Anytime.. I started on Wednesdays and brought it forward a couple times so I'm now Mondays did that over 3 weeks.. 1 week did Tuesday then Tuesday then next time Monday .

But that’s not recommended , important to point out.

First weigh in and zero lbs lost 😔 just done my 2nd jab. Had no appetite suppression from jab 1 and no side effects. I will continue on for this month and then try a month on 5mg before I pass judgement. But feeling very deflated with no loss

It says in instructions anytime of the day, but same day.. and it also says you can move the day forward if needed.. i asked zava and they said yes it's fine .

Don’t worry, it builds in your system, it stays in for about 30 days, so every week you inject it builds how much you have as the previous injection hasn’t left your system. It’s why you need to build up slowly to tolerate it.

2.5 is just the therapeutic dose, so often doesn’t have much impact, a lot of what we’re all doing is using willpower too, the impact is when you get to the higher doses. I spoke to my doctor about it before I started, and she said she’d been using it for about a decade for diabetes, with good results, but the weight loss really happens when you’ve got into the higher doses.

if you’re relying purely on the drug and eating as normal in the first few weeks, you’re unlikely to lose weight,

Pegsmum · 13/10/2024 12:32

Thank you for the new thread-had a moment of blind panic when I saw the first one full! Had my first meal out and glass of wine last night, I chose carefully and ate quite a small amount and was fine. I was worried that the wine might make me ill but all ok.

Oh that’s weird, I bought mine from suoerdrug, (now switching as it’s pricey) and they say same day,,

I moved mine forward a day as I’d realised after the first week I’d chosen the wrong day to inject. If you need to move the day you must make sure that at least three days have passed since your previous inspection (according to my instructions).

autumn1610 · 13/10/2024 12:37

@Theonewhogotaway it’s more I’ve never thought about food so much! I was eating less before the jab 🤣 I think it’s because my food noise has increased. Where normally at work if I’m doing site visits I don’t eat or feel hungry, the past week I’ve eaten when I normally wouldn’t. I’m craving sweet stuff more than before. We will see. I was hoping it would knock the inbetween meal noise, but like i said it’s increased. Assume it’s because I’m being more in tune with it, as more conscious, I know it’s all in my head

morbidcuriosity · 13/10/2024 12:39

Yes.. just realised this was the October thread..

I did 4 Wednesdays, then 2 Tuesdays now I'm on Mondays.. so was like 7 days, 7 days, 7 days then 6 days, then 7 then 6. Type thing.. sorry I'm on 9 weeks now. Maybe I confused my words

Yes if u want to move the day, do it slowly. But anytime of the day is fine.

@Theonewhogotaway i got mine from Superdrug and also thinking of moving. Pricey and didn’t find the face to face consultation helpful. I’d be interested to know which supplier you’re considering, if that’s ok?

Superdrug also supplied an out of date pen - even with the extended expiry until 10/2024 it’s out of date. Worried as injected two doses, first one at Superdrug clinic with nurse!

Mine was in date but ni wipes, no sharps bin even though the order was for one.

they did say some batches had their expiry dates extended on my email.

I’ve now ordered with med express and waiting approval. Only did it this morning. May be a bit early but wasn’t sure of how long it would take.

im a little disappointed in surperdrug. I said to the doctor id ordered from a reputable company as she was concerned so many sprouting up some dodgy product may hit the market, but medexpress seems ok when I googled them and from anecdotal on here. Superdrug hasn’t covered themselves in glory.

monj.co.uk seems a good site to see comparisons, Price comparisons,Price comparisons,Price comparisons,

As you say a loss is a loss @WafflingDreamer! Well done to all those starting the journey... I am 3 days into week 2 and still feeling good. Suppression seems a little lower this week but I wonder if the novelty of it in week 1 made it feel more. Having said that I am still able to resist overeating or eating bad things so it's all going well at this level. Thankfully!!! I am starting to feel the weight loss in my clothes now and not looking so bloated after eating. Honestly I am so grateful for this... I know there will be some psychology behind it but I really needed this to get me on the right path and stop hating myself for eating too much - which would make me over-eat, almost like a punishment.

Totally with you on that. Released fr
self loathing and disappointment.

Second jab done this morning and first weeks weigh in, 4lbs lost. Feel a bit disappointed as I’ve cut my calories loads, eaten healthily and hugely reduced wine intake… was hoping for 7-8lbs like others have reported. Hey ho. Better than nothing.

I lost 4lbs too and was eating healthily, no alcohol, exercising everyday - I felt disappointed too! Thing is 4lbs is a lot in a week and usually 2lbs is recommended as a healthy weekly weight loss so I don’t think we need to feel disappointed but just remind ourselves we’ve done brilliantly and not to compare with others - which is the road to unhappiness!
Well Dine 🙌🏻

@Theonewhogotaway thanks so much! Hope the medexpress approval goes through and the process is smooth!

Had my first injection on Tuesday evening. My usual weigh day will be Wednesday morning but as I'm going to be away from home until Wednesday evening I thought I'd weigh this morning to see if I'd lost anything.

3kg off !!! More than happy with that. I know I won't lose that amount every week but it's definitely a nice boost !

SW 107.4kg
CW 104.3kg.

First goal 88.9kg.

I've just taken my second injection. Had some horrible side effects during week 1, so hoping they settle this week. Lost 8lbs in week 1 - I hardly ate anything though due to the side effects. If they continue this week I think I'll need to accept this isn't for me, which is a shame as I've at least 4 stone to lose and I feel confident that this is the way to do it!

@Dazzledee - how are you finding the second jab?

I've also struggled with bad side effects (currently on day 3 of my first week) and getting nervous about re-injecting later this week 😞

Fingers crossed you feel a bit better soon. I felt bad until day 3 but feel a lot better now (day 4) thankfully.

Anyone else find the mix of stones, kgs and lbs that people post confusing?
