First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

I’ve just understood what this medicine fully does, I felt hungry and knew I should eat, there was a left over breaded cod fillet in the fridge. And I ate it. I felt really full after. Like I’d eaten a really big meal. That was a couple of hours ago ans I still feel full.

I’ve friends here for dinner tonight so that’s going to be interesting. Avoiding alcohol and not eating much will raise eyebrows.

Fingers crossed you feel a bit better soon. I felt bad until day 3 but feel a lot better now (day 4) thankfully.

Anyone else find the mix of stones, kgs and lbs that people post confusing?

Yes! I have to convert kg.

I used to live in the States. They weigh in lbs. Came home, went to gym, put my weight into the running machine. The machine told me to get off and didn't move! I'd put in lbs, it wanted kg so it thought I was 185kg!!

Haha I love how the machine said no!

So many different suppliers does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks so much

WafflingDreamer · 13/10/2024 15:26

I think most people weigh in lbs or stone as your loss seems larger as there are roughly 2.2lbs to a kg. Lots of people weigh in kgs because that is traditionally what your BMI is based on and medically what a GP or hospital will weigh you in.

I don't convert my lbs to stone anymore as I find I fixate on the number a lot less otherwise I'm constantly pushing for the next stone bracket and dissapointed if I don't get there, whereas staying in lbs is just a small amount off a large total

Don't you just end up with different brackets though? e.g. I just need to get to the next 10/20/50 lbs etc.

RunSlowTalkFast · 13/10/2024 15:36

So I had no suppression nor nasty side affects in my first week.

Took my second jab Thursday afternoon but had a stinking cold which always makes me ravenous so couldn't tell on Thurs/Fri if I had any suppression.

Yesterday. Had a headache in the evening then up all night with diarrhoea!

If the first jab had no affect, how likely do you think it is that it would cause such explosive side affects 2.5 days after the second dose?? I'm leaning towards it being food poisoning!

With the cold and the diarrhoea I'm still too ill to figure out whether there has been any suppression yet!

Nervous about taking the 3rd dose this week!

Fizzleaway · 13/10/2024 16:19

I find it confusing too… I don’t know how to work things out in KG. Never have…I had to google how much 1kg was to try and see what people were losing 😂 Google says just over 2lbs. I use stones and lbs or I can do just lbs but prefer stones/lbs.

Whole family is having pizza and I’m finding it easy to resist, not sure if that’s the injection or just willpower at the moment though!

Iv had just under 800 Calories today so far.

Currently drinking slimatea from H&B so I don’t get the constipation people keep talking about.

Hello to all. Thanks for the new thread. I’m due to take my 3rd dose this evening. So, in the last two weeks I’ve lost precisely nothing (unless there’s a miracle by tomorrow morning!). I know it’s not a therapeutic dose, so there’s time yet! I came on MJ because (like the rest of you on here) I find it impossible to consistently loose weight.

I’ve found I have suppression from Sunday evening through to late Wednesday. From Thursday it really quickly wears off. I’m then tempted by having some drinks when out at the weekend! I don’t find MJ has put me off! Food wise I’m eating healthily (fruit, veg, protein) and finding I leave things on my plate as well as reducing portion size. I do also drink lots of water.

Side effects have been constipation, nausea and insomnia.

What I need to do next week is to up my exercise again and see if that helps. I’ve also booked an appointment with my GP to discuss my hypothyroidism and medication to see if that needs a review.

Doghairismyglitter · 13/10/2024 16:44

Did anyone find the side effects worsen or decrease when you go into week 2/3/4 please? (2.5 dose)

surreygirl1987 · 13/10/2024 16:45

I started this morning!! Very excited about this. I definitely still have my usual large appetite at the moment though..!

Fizzleaway · 13/10/2024 16:56

@letshavetea could you switch the injection day to a Thursday/Friday so you have max suppression over a weekend?

I did Friday but I will be injecting 1 day early and doing it on Thursday evening next week so I get Max suppression over a weekend.

OP posts:
letshavetea · 13/10/2024 16:58

@fizzleaway - yes, I did think about that. If I was going to do that I would need to do it over a three week period I think? So if I inject tomorrow instead of tonight etc

Yes 😂I find myself having to try and work them out all the time, I think the differences distinguish the young’uns from the old(er)’uns

Dazzledee · 13/10/2024 17:31

Theonewhogotaway · 13/10/2024 09:35

Can I ask are you drinking plenty of water, 2-3 litres a day, ensuring you take fibre, ie psylum husk with a big glass of water to avoid constipation, and managing your food intake, Ie lots of green veg, and protein? These are really important things, as dehydration, constipation, too much fat or carbs will have you feeling really ill I think

I’m only a day in, so no clue, but I’ve spent a lot of time reading medical advice and anecdotal findings, and it seems the above is key to avoiding side effects,

from what I understand it’s not just how much you eat, but what you eat, and any supplier should have warned on eating healthy.

if you’re doing all these things, then it could sadly just be a bad reaction and another medicine may work better.

Thanks for this! I've definitely upped my water intake - about 2 litres most days! Food wise, has been varied for me as the biggest symptom has been diahorrea, so I've been scared to eat. The more I eat, the more it runs out of me. It's starting to reduce now, but still going - 3 times so far today!
I have taken my 2nd injection, really praying my body builds a tolerance and I'm not going to just shit myself thin!!

MustLoveCats · 13/10/2024 17:31

Hi all,

I am on day 2 and apart from a headache on day 1 I have had no other symptoms.

MustLoveCats · 13/10/2024 17:33

Quick question

After the first injection are you keeping the pens in the fridge?

I'm not. It can be kept up to 30 days out of the fridge as long as its not above 30C. I have a teenage daughter and I'd rather not have that conversation with her!

Gr3atEscape · 13/10/2024 17:49

I am but I understand once opened it doesn't have to be as it will be ok in a cool dark place for 30 days which is how long you have to use up an open pen anyway.

MustLoveCats · 13/10/2024 17:49

@Tulip8
Thank you for replying, I have a son and was thinking the same thing

No you don't need too.. they need to be kept in the fridge until you take your first dose, then they are good for 30 days.. you will read about people ignoring that and making them last longer.. thats up to you. But guidance on the meds is fridge till 1st use then 30 days and discard.. always kept below (23° or 25°) so in your bedside drawer is fine..

Hello. Is anyone here that can help? I’m trying to administer my first dose but I can get the plunger of the needle down to zero - it went halfway but now seems stuck. I’m not sure what to do 🫣

Thanks for the reply. Was in such a panic my message didn’t make sense !

I’ve done it now but basically I was pushing on the plunger to administer the dose but the purple end of the pen only depressed halfway - not to zero. In the end I adjusted the angle and reinserted the needle and then I was able to push down the pen to zero but I feel like I probably didn’t get the full dose.

There is a reason I’m not a nurse !

Ah ok.. sounds like you did get the full dose then, just in 2 parts..

I know what you mean now.. glad you got it sorted..
