First thread is full and I couldn’t see a new one to continue it so thought I’d make it so we can all carry on chatting.

I want to buy some needles to extract the fifth dose from the pen (thinking ahead) but have become confused with what I actually need to buy.
can anyone recommend?
I also want to buy some spare pen needles but these seem simpler to purchase.

Today will be Day 3 for me. And albeit was woken up by toddler but had to go to the loo with an upset stomach which is very unusual for me as soon as I woke up. I think it is what I ate on Day 2, given I thought I was generally symptom free on Day 1 and I wasn't sure if 2.5 was doing anything much for me yet.

Day 2 diet:

  • Nearly 3l of water (I have a cold, I am not overly thirsty)
  • 2 Weetabix with almond milk
  • 1 pasta salad from M&s with more mayonnaise than was probably good for me - while I was eating it, I was expecting to feel full sooner but I finished the whole thing and was satisfied and didn't feel sick so at the time I thought it was fine
  • 1 Muller corner yoghurt with fruit compote
  • a handful of smoke almonds

I was very conservative on Day 1 and ate a good high protein, low fat, low (starchy) carb diet.

I find that my appetite is still there and I do feel hungry but have better will power. At this moment though I do think some of it is attributable to the fear of eating badly and getting a bad side effect.

I am going to have a trawl through a thread of the second month of MJ from an earlier month to see if I can get more clarity on this as I am sure they would have gone through the same thing

Also Day 1 food intake for me was what you described in your last paragraph and it was lovely and symptom free for me.

I really think this! I have tried to keep it balanced and haven't had many bad side affects, the only time I've had some diarrhea is after a family gathering last week where I had pizza and alcohol and also during the week when I had some full fat cheese and after eating a very tomato based dish (which makes sense to me cause tomato's give me heartburn)

bughunter · 14/10/2024 06:36

Third jab for me last night. Definitely felt the suppression wearing off as the weekend went on, and I'm a bit constipated so don't want to weigh as I'm worried it'll show a gain and be demotivated! Aiming for plenty of fibre and water today to hopefully get things moving!!!

Fizzleaway · 14/10/2024 06:41

I drink
These to help with constipation

Woke up this morning and feel hungry!

What day are you on? Are you close to the next injection date? x

I have an awful cold and I hope it isn't interfering with my MJing

letshavetea · 14/10/2024 07:18

@Onedancewontdo - I’ve found that the best diet is the one recommended for pre diabetes on the British diabetic association website. Eat lots of protein, high fibre carbs, fruit, veg and pulses. Plus at least 2l water per day. Avoid alcohol (easier said than done - for me at least. The Zoe website has some great info (for free), basically recommending the same sort of diet.

RunSlowTalkFast · 14/10/2024 07:37

Can anyone offer any insight into knowing whether it's the mounjaro or food poisoning?

I haven't eaten much different to last week so it seems odd that jab one would have literally no effect, good or bad, but jab two would see me having diarrhoea for 24 hours. Still not quite right now.

And infuriatingly I've actually felt really hungry in between!!

Scared to take the 3rd dose in a few days!

RunSlowTalkFast · 14/10/2024 07:48

Also I'm due to take my 3rd dose on Thursday. Do you think it would be OK to delay it until Sunday?

I'm in the office on Thursday and have plans that evening and all weekend that involve long car journeys whereas Sunday evening to Wednesday evening next week I'm working from home and have no other plans so seems safer!

Second injection this morning and I’ve been violently sick three times throughout the day. Cannot eat anything. On my second day with an eight week old puppy (and 2 young DC) this is not ideal at all. I feel so ill 😣

Oh no I hope you are feeling better soon, I started last Sunday too and strangely I woke up feeling sick as a dog with really strong suppression despite being ravenous on Saturday! Guessing it's because I ate more than I had been doing on Saturday so this week even if I feel really hungry again I need to try and be more careful with how much I eat. Was out last night so instead of doing the second jab last night I decided I would wait until this morning as I was knackered and just needed a good nights sleep with no risk of side effects!

comewhinewith · 14/10/2024 08:21

Another one feeling really rough here - started at the end of the week, just before 3rd dose.

Lots of sulphur burps, feeling nauseous & as if I was about to vomit at any point. Also glued to toilet. Had to stop work & not feeling up to working today either.

Not sure if it's Mounjaro or a bug, but painkillers (for unrelated issue) are making it worse.

JulesK17 · 14/10/2024 08:23

On my 3rd week, lost 3kg in 2 weeks, which I am happy about, I can see changes in my clothes.
I haven’t had much side effects, feel full a lot, although suppression wears off a couple of days before the next injection is due.
I drink lots of water and a balanced diet, but I am now experiencing constipation :(

JulesK17 · 14/10/2024 08:27

Forgot to add: does everyone stick to no drinking 30 mins before and after food? I struggle, I’m always thirsty after eating. Then I have food realising I drank water 10mins ago.

hopeishere · 14/10/2024 08:31

I've just done second jab. I've Mo es it from Sunday night to Monday. I'm definitely constipated though so am looking for something to help with that!

Where does this come from? I've never heard to not drink before and after food.

Well, I’ve finally lost two pounds! Had my third injection last night. Week one I stayed the same. Last week I gained a half pound. I’m just going to stick with it and may have to join the slow losers club! I plan to up my steps and gym visits this week.
Regardibg the not drinking with meals - I just sip water and have found that it’s fine. Usually I have a cup of tea afterwards - also fine.

I’ve not heard this before. Was it part of the guidance from your provider?

Edited

Only injected Friday so have a few more days yet.

I will be injecting Thursday this week instead of Friday.

Still haven’t eaten anything though and currently not hungry again. I’m always really busy before I head off to work so that comes first. I’m now at work and busy again!

For anyone who's suffering with sulphur burps, it's worth looking into low FODMAP eating. It's for IBS, but encourages avoiding foods that ferment in the digestive tract and cause gas (high FODMAP foods), which are probably going to cause us more problems than usual because of mounjaro slowing down digestion.
