We are a few weeks away from the start of meteorological summer (1st June) so here are some early thoughts from Netweather

Agreed

A bit of an improvement today. Sunny spells and sitoutable temperature. Probably 18 ish. There is a breeze but it’s fresh rather than icy. Going to rain later. Got the washing nearly dry. Sitting outside drinking coffee and reading a library book. Fun times! 😂

Son and family have enjoyed two weeks in Portugal, not too hot. They're not happy to be coming home today.

Sums up UK summer in one word

Wet!!

Netweather's thoughts for the next few days ~ includes the depressing thought that it's midsummer next week.

My DIL has just landed at Manchester airport and wants to do a U turn and fly back out 🙈😂

Blowing hard and raining here. Feels like a proper westerly storm. Not pleasant in June. Currently 33km/h winds gusting to 60. So about 40mph ish.

Any chance of it improving next week? We are going to the IOW festival and camping 😬 20th-24th

Evenstar ~ it isn't looking too bad (but it is a week away so could change.) Might be the odd shower but otherwise dry. Temperatures range from 15C to 20/21C, so nothing too awful.

It seems to be winter again…

Sitting looking out of the window this evening it really feels like that point in October where the season turns and you feel it getting colder. The wind, the greyness, the rain.

I’ve given in and put the heating on.

And the minute it warms up -if anyone on here moans - I will hunt them down!

It's pishing down here. It could be November outside, apart from the fact that it's not dark.
I have jeans, a long sleeve t shirt, socks, and slippers on. Sad times.
In better news last GCSEs tomorrow, and we'll be in Portugal in 16 days' time 🏖☀️

And I'll join you if they utter the words 'hosepipe ban.'

I was at the allotment yesterday and had a similar conversation with a couple there, that I had with someone last week; that nothing's growing, we've had a too wet winter, a too wet and cold spring and not enough warmth now. And the amount of re-sowing of seeds is costing a fortune as well (combination of all the above conditions along with the slugs, which are loving the damp/wet conditions.)

Oh yes give it a month and there’ll be a hosepipe ban. So ridiculous how we waste water in this country.

Such a shame for all those with allotments.

It was actually hot and sunny when I came into work an hour ago. It's now pouring. I actually despair 😫

Same here. Probably because I just hung my laundry out 🙄
