Although there's some rain about at times, this will please those who like things warm.

At the moment, for the weekend onwards, looks like things could be getting very warm ~ temperatures up to the mid 20sC but could be a thundery blip mid-end of next week.

A taste of summer on the way

There will be some wet weather around in the next few days, but also spells of sunshine.

I can absolutely guarantee we will have a mini heatwave for the next 7 days. Honestly. I can.

How do I know that? I've just paid for a long term stray to be spayed to prevent having kittens on my doorstep and I need (advisable) to keep her inside while she heals. So no windows or doors open.... 😩

justasking111 · 20/06/2024 11:01

I was told by vet to be very careful when we spayed a stray, they still smell good to the Tom for a while, hormones take a while to disappear.

Pixiedust1234 · 20/06/2024 11:07

Thanks @justasking111 . She's been smelling exceptionally good these past 6 days hence the emergency panic call to a vet Blush

The day she can leave/escapes the house will be the day the mini heatwave ends. I just know it 😂

I'm going on holiday on 29 June so the sun should be blazing for you all from then

Thanks ginger, that's so generous of you 😁

justasking111 · 20/06/2024 12:18

OH bally hell husband has given me his man flu I think. I'm just going to sit in the sun and sweat it out. 🤬

Stowickthevast · 21/06/2024 09:02

Great @gingercat02 that's my birthday party so am keeping everything crossed it will be dry.

@Pixiedust1234 when we got ours done, we opened the doors but put a big piece of card over the entrance so they couldn't get out.. As they grew, we did have to keep making it higher though!

It is absolutely lovely outside. Unfortunately I cannot visit this little piece of heaven today as the poor cat keeps trying to hide but the cone says no. I'm hoping it will be just as good in a week's time crosses fingers Hope it's just as lovely for the rest of you, get those Vit D levels up!

MotherOfCatBoy · 21/06/2024 11:25

Well yesterday was an absolute stunner and the day one of cats chose to go missing so we spent it traipsing along the back lane with the tub of Dreamies… This morning’s not bad though and the cat has now turned up, having been extracted from under the bed in a neighbour’s house where it hid from their two Alsatians.. 😳 So now we can enjoy the garden!

KeepScrapingBy · 21/06/2024 14:58

Lovely weather at long last! And it’s warm enough to sit out in the shade so I don’t need to play cloud chicken!

justasking111 · 21/06/2024 18:08

We've had rain all afternoon but it's a lot warmer.

A fantastic day here. Cool enough for a run first thing then lovely sunshine with a very slight cool breeze - nice enough to sit out all day and read in the sun. Lovely after such a horrible few weeks.

RetroTotty · 23/06/2024 06:58

Is there a heat health advisory out? Thought I heard this on the radio late last night but can't find anything current.

Abracadabra12345 · 23/06/2024 06:58

And here's summer...

In the SE it's 24 degrees today, "feels like.." hotter, and rising steadily as the week progresses. My surprise is that the rest of the country (almost) is getting hot weather too given the usual south-north divide

Yes I'd seen that on the online news yesterday

justasking111 · 23/06/2024 08:34

Cloudy day here today. We're further behind than the se sunshine wise

GloriaSmud · 24/06/2024 06:54

'Tis going to be a warm/hot couple of days ~ we're forecast to reach 27C tomorrow but looks like it cools down towards the weekend.

Only showing as 22c here tomorrow, I was planning a swim but debating if to go today! Meant to be 25c today

Not wanting to moan but I'd be a liar to say I'm not miffed about the heat always building in the week, then breaking down what seems like every weekend😏. As a gardener, the humidity is a real challenge. However, I'm really trying to embrace summer this year after those horrible months of endless rain.
