We are a few weeks away from the start of meteorological summer (1st June) so here are some early thoughts from Netweather

I am dreading next week in London! Temps don't seem to drop as much as first forecast which makes for a long week in the hospital

Yikes, those weather maps look nasty. I could already tell today is going to be a very hot one at 7am but hopefully it will get cool enough for tonight. I think others can tell too, lawn mowers and hedge trimmers were activated at 8am 😩

Some thunder and lightning earlier in Edinburgh. Now 18c and muggy
This is the first thunder storm we've had for ages.

Unexpected thunder here this morning too. Weather app denies all knowledge 🙄 but there was an almighty bang at about 8:30 this morning followed by heavy rain for a while. It’s just a bit grey now. Was hoping for a scorching sunny day.

Woken up by massive claps of thunder and a beautiful cool breeze got up, North West. Now drizzling and so muggy, it feels like stepping off the plane in a hot country when you go outside.

It's hot here. I've been lucky enough to work from home and not get on the train and tube!
Tmrw I have to though

Nefyn Anglesey had massive claps of thunder, faded away so we only got a spit of rain. We're in heavy cloud in Llandudno, friends basking in sunshine on the Lleyn Peninsula. Friends in Scotland canal holiday torrential rain.

I will be up your way @justasking111 next week, walking the coast path. Hoping for a bit of sunshine!

Fingers crossed the weather is good. Anglesey?

@justasking111 walking Abergele to Moelfre, staying in Conwy for a few days then on Anglesey for the rest. Can’t wait! We’re walking all the way round, slowly - started in 23 from S Wales and did Offa’s Dyke to Welshpool, this year from there up to the coast, hope to get round Anglesey by October, next year we might make it to St David’s. I love it but we only get away in school hols.

Last time we had hot weather the stray had a spay, so all windows and doors shut.
This time I'm on antibiotics with strict instructions on the leaflet and the box to stay out of the sun even when cloudy.

It's a conspiracy, I tell ya!!

It's raining here in on the south east/London border. All the windows are open and it feels so fresh

Month ahead forecast from Netweather ~ changeable seems to be the theme for the next few weeks.

Absolutely torrential rain here in North West in the last hour and it has rained all morning to some extent. Ideal for the outdoor event I was volunteering at. Thankfully we had a marquee, now sitting under my heated blanket ☹️

It's surprisingly gusty here, like a mini storm. Grey, drizzly but not enough to wet the path, but it's having fun with slamming doors and bowling puddy cats over.

East coast here and blowing a hooly. The promised downpour blew off with just a few spits and spots. Could use some rain.

It was very bizarre weather here today. Hot, sunny, raining, and very windy all at the same time. Not very nice!

This morning here was a beautiful but breezy summers day. This evening is grey and drizzle with a chill.

Bit of an unsettled week at times, especially for the north and Scotland so there have been some rain warnings issued for this week.

The Bank Holiday weekend though at the moment, is looking dry-ish (looks like there could be some overnight rain lasting until lunchtime, Saturday morning for the Midlands and south) but after that, it doesn't look too bad.

my uni dissertation was on the Anglesey coastal path and access… 18yrs ago now so no use to anyone 😂

Currently sitting in my garden with my
legs out in south lakes. Blustery but warm 😊

Yesterday rain storm never arrived just a spot or two. Blowing today. The moon was amazingly orange for a couple of nights.

It's a bit windy today.

Just seen the stray cat being blown across the lawn. Good job she's a bit fatter now as that helped to slow her down 😬
