We are a few weeks away from the start of meteorological summer (1st June) so here are some early thoughts from Netweather

@GloriaSmud yeah, it's been a difficult 12 months! With the biggest garden, the client uses it to show off for his garden parties and it's my job to facilitate his showing off. I'm happy to do that but recent weather has made it bloody hard work.

Its 27°c here in the tropical NE. Everyone has been complaining its too hot. FFS!

It’s so lovely. As it’s so fleeting I’ve been enjoying it very much. So nice to wander around town in shorts. Don’t feel too hot at all. Took the dog out early and have a new fan for the bedroom.

DH went fishing at 6.30. This morning returned after 12. I said let's go out for lunch. It was lovely in the shade watching the world go by on the marina which was packed.

It hit 30 degrees. A warm night ahead I expect.

31c in south east kent. Too hot for me.

29.9C here, according to the weather station outside. A lot of our windows face west, so I have blinds down, curtains shut and an air purifier running to keep things fresh. I put my hand behind the blind to feel the window and the glass is hot.

27 in Manchester with a lovely breeze. Perfect.
I even made a fire (for a campground that doesn't allow real fire):

Rumours abound it will be 26 in Essex all week next week. Is this true, I wonder?

It's looking nice for the south east next week. Today I went on the decking after lunch having been spring cleaning the playroom bedroom. Read a book, then lay down in the sun for a couple of hours. Was lovely to feel the sun on my bones. It's cloudy now 🙈

Just in time for my week off at home!

It is looking fairly decent for next week ~ might be the odd shower about but looks like we're getting some proper summer and yes, the Midlands/south/SE might well see temperatures in the 25-30C range.

Been ok here (Leicester) over the last few days but just as the weather's improved, I have.......a cold 🙄

I'm in the Midlands.
When I went to bed last night a day of sunshine was predicted for today. When I woke up it was a cloudy day & it started raining early this morning - totally not forecasted. And the weather has now transformed to overcast for most of the day.
Yesterday morning we also had heavy rain. What's up with this weather and the forecast?

It's been overcast here too despite the two news/weather people saying it will be sunny. Looking out the window right now I see some very dark and grumpy looking clouds.

Is this rubbish forcasting to do with climate change or is it to do with the newer computers they brought in a couple of years ago that can allegedly forecast hourly? It all seems to have gone to pot since then imo.

I thought the humidity was just bad in the flat but it’s pretty full on outside. Grey, warm and muggy.

@Pixiedust1234 yes, that’s what I think. The previous methods were good.

Climate change won't make forecasting any easier

London is grim today. I thought it was supposed to be nice! Is grey, humid and miserable

EmeraldRoulette ~ cold is a bit of a stinker so taking its time to go!

The weather continues to look good going into next week ~ I forecast plenty of watering at the allotment!

So one place saying that Wednesday, Thursday, Friday will be a bit cooler, which I don’t mind because I have to use the Tube. Has been really nice today and yesterday.

EmeraldRoulette Cold is about gone, could do with the cough going now!

It's 29C according to my weather station at the moment.

A hot few days for some areas at the start of this week and a Heat Health Alert has been issued from today until Friday.

Could be a chance of thunderstorms on Thursday ~ weather warning issued and then things cool off a bit for next weekend.

And if the skies are clear, could be a chance of seeing the Northern Lights over the next few nights as well!

Finally might be able to get some swimming in this week! It's at the top of a very steep hill so always a balance between warm enough to swim and too hot to clamber up
