While for many it is milder today, it will become colder again tomorrow. The main snow risk starts on Thursday where both GFS and ECM show a risk of snow in the south into the midlands and Wales, away from south eastern coastal counties. They both model a low moving in from the Azores, bumping into cold air.

GFS takes this right into northern England and parts of Scotland.

As always, early days and so there is lots of uncertainty. We await the next model run

Looking at the webcams at Whistler, gee it looks pretty

I’m in Cheshire and the local forecast has a worrying band of snow passing through during the school run. Could be interesting though they say it will only fall as snow above 200m and we are below that so who knows.

ListenLinda · 29/02/2024 21:56

Are we saying snow tomorrow is unlikely and I should ignore the app thats telling me it’s going to snow from 8.30am - 2.30pm tomorrow? 😂

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/02/2024 22:06

Snow showers are possible, but it's unlikely to settle and become problematic.

Snow here in mid Wales. Roads closed in places as they are impassable.

Lemonyyellow · 01/03/2024 11:45

None in north east wales that I can see. Although there must be some in the hills because a snowy car appeared on the school run today. Just cold, miserable and rainy in my town though

Poblano · 01/03/2024 13:11

This is mid Wales (not my photo)

Snow watch.

I started shivering when I saw that photo...

I can see blue skies in between the grey rain clouds so hopefully it will stop raining over my personal paddy field very soon.

BestIsWest · 01/03/2024 13:26

Blimey! We’re in South West wales and it’s just rain - feels very cold though the temperature gauge in the car said 8c.

CrunchyCarrot · 02/03/2024 06:31

Heavy snow here in the West Midlands - but we're at some elevation here. All the same, totally surprised to see huge flakes and the road and cars are already covered!

Colourful imagery from the netweather radar this morning. Pink is snow, green is sleet.

Snow watch.

I had to go out at an ungodly hour this morning to see a steam train with my young son. It is absolutely pouring here in North Herts but on the way back there were lots of icy splats on my windscreen and I did wonder if it might turn to snowfall as it was so heavy and dark but it seems to be easing off now. I'm gutted we've not seen snow this year and I suspect we won't now 😕

Caught in an unexpected snowstorm up a high road in the Lake District on Saturday. Seriously scary turning round, crawling back down with the car slipping and sliding all over. Then a 2 hour detour to avoid any more high ground! Not the best of journeys...
