Snow watch.

While for many it is milder today, it will become colder again tomorrow. The main snow risk starts on Thursday where both GFS and ECM show a risk of snow in the south into the midlands and Wales, away from south eastern coastal counties. They both model a low moving in from the Azores, bumping into cold air.

GFS takes this right into northern England and parts of Scotland.

As always, early days and so there is lots of uncertainty. We await the next model run

Snow has started in Nottingham now, peed it down all morning though so not settling

in the Midlands/Yorks amber warning area, I really would be very careful about travelling. It is a notorious region for people getting stuck on roads, having seen rain to start with and assuming it will stay that way.

Same in Preston

Im in a north Notts village and its settling and heavy despite all the rain this morning.

Settling here in North Yorkshire (Harrogate area). It was raining heavily this morning, but now settling on paths despite the precipitation. Snowing fairly heavily.

A hint of snow has just started in addition to our rain here in Warrington

Sky has gone from very grey cloud to that 'brighter white' heavy cloud

North Yorkshire here too (Pickering division) and no snow here. I think we were in the 'bulge' of coastal weather which will hopefully keep the snow away (I've got a late shift tonight and don't want to have to struggle home uphill through snow). We've had rain since 8.30, little bits of sleet in and very cold, but definitely just wet as of now.

I'm not sure that the radar is picking up all the snow that is/has fallen very well this morning. It hasn't really shown anything around Nottingham for example.

Snowing properly now in Warrington, but ground very wet so just going into puddles!

We've got slight rain here on the NE coast of England. No snow as expected.

What's bloody worse though is we've got Easterly 45mph winds. So it feels flipping freezing (although it's 3 degrees)

My cross country sources tell me it is cold and dry in Scotland, cold and snowing in Leeds and cold and raining in London. I'm glad I am the Scottish source!

Just rain rain and relentless rain in North Herts! Delightful! It's bloody cold though.

The BBC has got the latest news on the weather/disruption here ~ Buxton looks quite pretty with all the snow.

Leicester has stayed a chilly, wet 3C and I've just had the wettest, coldest dog walk ever. FosterDog is now sprawled out on the sofa and I'm drying out slowly!

Intermittent snow and sleet in Merseyside but not sticking at all

Some quite good snow in north east wales that started to stick but it seems to have stopped now.

Checking in from school trip coach at junction 28 of the M1, where it is very snowy, white and pretty on all sides. The motorway seems to be well salted and traffic flowing so we are well on our way to Yorkshire!
