Thanks Kitten

Beautiful morning in the south east, left for the train with no coat or cardy again! Although think that'll change next week by the looks of things

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/09/2023 07:58

It is a gorgeous morning for those in the south, with sunshine and temperatures in the low to mid 20s.

Through parts of southern northern england the midlands and Wales, if you are stuck under showers, that's set to last for some time today.

We're stuck right under that band of rain and it's miserable! Attempted to take FosterDog for a walk this morning ~ he got to the end of the drive, saw the weather and decided to turn around and head back inside the house!

Thanks @OhYouBadBadKitten it really is a lovely day in the SE (sorry those that haven’t got the sun) yet it cools down enough to sleep at night. Very pleasant.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/09/2023 16:16

Sunday is a day to watch for people in southern and central England, with plenty of potential for severe storms. A messy, uncertain picture though. There could be a lot, or there could be nothing. Or perhaps something in between.

I've started gazing fondly at our log burner. The hearth is covered in plants that will have to be moved and the orchid is in full swing. Will be nice to see a glow in the evening. I wonder what the puppy will make of it.

It's cooler here today so I'm hoping to sleep better tonight.

justasking111 · 15/09/2023 17:49

Looking further afield hurricane Lee appears to be blowing out a relief to my NYC friends and Europe looks very pleasant again

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/09/2023 20:42

ECM has turned insane. Model output shows 130mph gusts on the 25th September. Shock

This is extremely unlikely!

In fact, I can say, that I'm certain that wouldn't occur.

That's a relief.

In other news the fish are back, in deep water only so no good for beach fishing. It's been an awful summer for angling trips and beach casting

I did wonder if the temperature of the water might throw a few curve balls this autumn.

Our reservoirs are healthy at around 70+%. Last year 40+%. Average year over 80+% though .

It’s very colourful in a bad colours sort of way. Nothing those colours on a weather map is good. 😂

hillyholman · 15/09/2023 22:31

More good news is that, despite the unseasonally warm weather, after 13 months Cornwall's hosepipe ban is being lifted in 10 days time 🤗🤗🤗

OhYouBadBadKitten · 16/09/2023 09:42

It's still showing. Confused Albeit further north and less deep, therefore less strong.

GFS show a deep, but filling low pressure to the north of Scotland for the same day, bringing in gales. Note the change in units from km/h to mph.

We should keep a mildly interested eye on the 25th.

Thankfully it's small tides. Small mercies.

I'm so glad I've been ill all week and told son not to come over from Leeds. That storm warning is moving north and East. He'd have a bad journey home.

RafaistheKingofClay · 16/09/2023 13:59

Apologies to anyone who didn’t want rain. I watered the garden and hanging baskets yesterday. That seems to have caused a downpour.

justasking111 · 18/09/2023 14:30

Looking at long range forecast we're not going to need the heating on for the rest of the month

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/09/2023 14:43

There may well be a warm up again in a weeks time.

Lovely. Not enjoying this autumn wind and rain. Next week looks gorgeous and sunny.
