Sorry, been a bit predisposed today and I'm unlikely to be able to keep the thread as updated as I'd like over the next few days.

Amber thunderstorm warnings for northern Ireland, flash flooding likely. And three days of thunderstorm warnings in a row.

Massive rain just now in Dublin. I had to turn the lights on it was so dark. My driveway is now filled with puddles and my car is sparkly clean.

colouringindoors · 06/09/2022 16:50

Thundering in the Chilterns now 😁

PeloFondo · 06/09/2022 17:11

More thunder in Lancashire

EspeciallyDivided · 06/09/2022 17:12

Very black clouds again in East Hampshire, been trying to rain all day.

PickAChew · 06/09/2022 17:21

A lot of thundery rain through the northeast, this afternoon - went on for over 3 hours. The bird bath is definitely full! Feels much fresher for it but we're forecast more over the next few days.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 06/09/2022 17:22

It doesn't feel fresher in London, it's swampy and humid. The rain is really perking up the plants though.

PickAChew · 06/09/2022 17:31

That's what it was like here, this morning, after raining all night. We're actually getting a cool breeze though the window, now.

SteadyNowBetty · 06/09/2022 19:10

My patch of the northwest is still desperate for the thunder and lightning storm that was promised two months ago after the first heatwave! It’s so humid!

tigger1001 · 06/09/2022 19:56

Lots of thunder/lightning and rain today in east Scotland

Muchtoomuchtodo · 06/09/2022 22:09

Couple of flashes and rumbles with a short sharp downpour in Cardiff about 7.30pm

BiddyPop · 07/09/2022 08:00

There were a number of very heavy rain showers last night that woke me but didn't hear any thunder in Dublin (on the occasions I woke).

By heavy, I mean the pounding like tropical monsoons heavy that we've been getting, short intense bursts, rather than the more normal steady heavy rain - so getting the equivalent amount of water from 1 hour of normal heavy rain in. 10-15 minutes.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 07/09/2022 09:04

Yes, last night in Dublin was immensely heavy. Like sleeping under a waterfall.

TwoMonthsOff · 07/09/2022 18:37

Epic one in Dorset but sounds like it’s waning now.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/09/2022 19:33

Lots of thunderstorms this evening, moving north. By the end of tomorrow pretty much anywhere in England and Wales has the chance of one or more. But it's a very complex thing to forecast. It will be a case of now casting,

Just cracking off on the South Coast

stillherenow · 07/09/2022 21:04

Thundering in Surrey, big gap between lightening and clap though, it must be a whopper somewhere

PriamFarrl · 07/09/2022 23:39

Very distant thunder here in Suffolk. And some lightning.

North Wales been watching your weather in Ireland we're copping it hours later torrential rain yesterday afternoon couldn't see to drive. Thunderstorms every evening. Then rain. So humid. We've another two days of it. Damned anti cyclone

TheYearOfSmallThings · 08/09/2022 09:35

We had heavy, heavy rain last night but no thunder and lightning in East London. It was very humid this morning - my hair has puffed out like Janis Joplin's.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/09/2022 09:37

Today looks like a very messy picture for many, with thundery showers or rain. Tomorrow generally less so.

We have dark, warm and rain rain rain. And I see we're back up to 25° by Monday and then more thunderstorms next week Hmm.

TwoMonthsOff · 08/09/2022 18:54

Blue skies emerging now in Dorset ☀️It’s been very wet today my candle holders in garden had over an inch of water in them. (thats my scientific gauge)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/09/2022 08:23

Fewer storms today and in general they will be focused around the north midlands and southern northern England.

Wet to start in the SW and part of the south coast for a time, but generally a better day weather wise than yesterday.

Sorry about the underlining, unintentional!

When we get a date for the funeral I'll start a weather thread for it as I know that will make a difference for some.
