Amber thunderstorm warnings for northern Ireland, flash flooding likely. And three days of thunderstorm warnings in a row.

Quite the storm is brewing in North Hampshire. The poor plants have gone from parched to drowning :(

Torrential rain, rumbles of thunder in the distance and a couple of lightening strikes here in the Midlands. So far seems to be further away than last night and not as active.

Just started in Lancashire. Sudden rain, loads of lightning. I'm petrified of lightning

I’m sat here watching the live lightning map and it’s about 20 miles away in all directions. But nothing here, not a drop of rain.

And now loads of rain!

We have all the rain, thunder and lightning in East London now. I'm doing that thing of counting from the thunder to the lightning but instead of moving across and away, it seems to be circling 🤔

WAITING PATIENTLY ….

Just had the loudest thunder and brightest lightning in SE London, it set off a car alarm on my street!

It's chucking it down here in west Yorkshire. Last night we had an epic thunderstorm: it woke me up at around half 2.

Thunder and lightning have finally finished over East Midlands and the rain is calming down. We also had some lovely lightening last night too (or very early this morning, 1.30am). Does this mean we get another light show tomorrow?

I thought it interesting to see the three storms shown going up the channel.

Heavy rain, thunder and lightning here for the last 15 minutes and continuing, although in a white/ yellow area on the 00:16 map (E Anglia).

North East Essex - nothing!

Had about 5 minutes of rain a couple of hours ago. Really think we have a very different micro-climate in my little patch of the world.

Torrential rain here (Cambs/Suffolk border) from about 00:30. It was off and in for about an hour with some thunder and lightning thrown in for good measure. Rain was so loud on our roof I had to put ear plugs in as I couldn’t get back to sleep - of course every other bugger in the house slept through it 🙄

A nice storm in Wales. It’s still bloody boiling though- clammy- unless it’s just me 🤔

We had a quick storm in mid-Essex, but lots of lovely rain - it probably rained for 1.5 hours. Only a few big cracks of thunder, but I could see lightning flickering a lot and the storm seemed to be either side of us.

I'm about to go and check the damage to my plants - must stake my dahlias better!

Lots of rain in Dublin yesterday and again overnight. But didn't hear any thunder.

DH is watching the hurricane in the mid-Atlantic for the weekend, but Windy seems to think it is mostly stalled and will slowly swirl around the existing low that is stalled off the south coast of Ireland, and die away to some wind but not even storm force by the time it hits land.

But all that rain is good for the water restrictions that were imposed in West Cork last week...
