I'm sorry for starting this when we still have 200 posts to go, but I really should sleep and I'm worried that the previous thread will fill up. Here it is --> www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weather/4481220-Storm-Eunice please fill it, before using this one.

Windy here in mid Cornwall but not too bad. Luckily it’s my day off as where I work only ever closes 2 days a year! DD’s school is closed. Thinking of folks in the red warning or very exposed areas.

FuzzyPuffling · 18/02/2022 07:25

Gust of 94mph recorded in West Cornwall now.

gogohm · 18/02/2022 07:26

We are in the red zone but still not particularly windy, just normal windy morning so far, wondering if they gave overcooked this one??? I might be eating my words later. Near Bristol so we are at the northern edge of the red

HesterShaw1 · 18/02/2022 07:26

Oh I've got no power! Have only just realised

cheninblanc · 18/02/2022 07:27

Woken up in Kent to the red warning. It sounds windy outside and I'm due to drive onsite for work and home again during the worst of it. I am really dreading it tbh and there's no way I can't go. We live very close to the train line into London so I fully expect that to be shut

HesterShaw1 · 18/02/2022 07:27

@FuzzyPuffling

Gust of 94mph recorded in West Cornwall now.
Blimey, where? Maybe that knocked my power out!
Happyface120 · 18/02/2022 07:27

Wind and rain just starting in North Wales. Was lovely and still here 20 mins ago...

kirinm · 18/02/2022 07:28

I think we are now in the red zone. I'm in a conservation area surrounding by neighbours with very large very mature trees that are very close to our house. A bit worried about damage to our roof.

It all seems very calm at the moment.

astoundedgoat · 18/02/2022 07:28

Bins being collected as I type here in the SE. Nothing from the schools yet to suggest they’re closed though - small child is a 5 minute walk, and we’ll drop big child in by car.

It’s just a bit windy here now. Nothing crazy.

Onceuponatimethen · 18/02/2022 07:29

We’re near London and now in red. Lots and lots of trees round our house…

littlese · 18/02/2022 07:29

@afengshui yes London's just gone into the red zone Sad I feel so bad to cancel at the last minute

underneaththeash · 18/02/2022 07:29

Pretty calm here too, a little breezy and drizzly. Bucks.

lollipoprainbow · 18/02/2022 07:30

Schools closed now in south east as weather warning changed to red, I'm relieved the decision has been taken out of my hands !!

mrshoho · 18/02/2022 07:30

@MrsLargeEmbodied

they have just played a recording of Michael Fish on radio 2, he is infamous,, the meteorological office never want to make those types of comments again
I remember it well. Waking up and walking to work as no buses and tree after tree uprooted and blocking the roads. I was the office junior and had the office all to myself. had the tv on in the meeting room watching neighbours I think.
Mumofsend · 18/02/2022 07:30

Meant to really kick off 9am here. At the moment it's mild. We are in the red zone

Moonswimmer · 18/02/2022 07:31

@ClearButtons What coast cameras do you use? I’m in the same area and would like to look as well. It’s so tempting to go and look for real!

Francescaisstressed · 18/02/2022 07:31

Based in Cardiff, rain has stopped and wind has died down. Is there a way to track the storm live? Any decent websites?

zen1 · 18/02/2022 07:33

Oh shit, just woken up to see the weather warning has changed to red where I am (south London). There is a pub clad in scaffolding just at the bottom of my road so I hope that stays put! Can still hear the usual amount of cars driving past. Very, very gusty outside!

FuzzyPuffling · 18/02/2022 07:34

Hester, there seems to be a power cut around Penzance area...affecting over 1000 houses. Are you caught up.in that?

CovidCorvid · 18/02/2022 07:34

I’m interviewing people via teams all day, really hope my power and WiFi stay on. On the east coast, bit breezy and raining hard.

PickAChew · 18/02/2022 07:34

Place marking and finger crossing for everyone. We have a dusting of snow up in Durham and I'm hoping it's gone in 2 hours when I need to be out for an appointment. Our forecast is still a very wet morning and a stiff breeze, this afternoon.

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 18/02/2022 07:35

Waking up (again) to really strong winds. Internal doors are rattling. Thankful that schools are closed. (Co. Cork, Ireland).

BerylStrip · 18/02/2022 07:37

Good morning all. Red zone here - very close to the coast and Redruth is the closest town. It’s windy but nothing out of the ordinary so far. We are quite high up here - the Carn Brae monument is about the only thing higher than us around here.

According to both the standard iPhone app and Dark Sky’s app peak winds are due around 9:30 - 10:00. It does feel quite strange - but so far nothing noteworthy

TomAllenWife · 18/02/2022 07:37

Flights are still leaving Bristol, I literally have no idea what to do
Flights is at 2pm, we need to leave home about 10am

Dimensions3 · 18/02/2022 07:37

We are in active Amber alert with Red supposed to start at 10:00am. It’s pretty calm here. We are in London and near trees, there’s not much wind and not much debris.
