I'm sorry for starting this when we still have 200 posts to go, but I really should sleep and I'm worried that the previous thread will fill up. Here it is --> www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weather/4481220-Storm-Eunice please fill it, before using this one.

currently worse than ever here (south shrops, up a hill.. ugh)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/02/2022 13:32

It seems we have a lot of trees down locally and the wind is picking up quite remarkably.

Seems to have passed us by largely - strong gusts but at minute bright sunshine with occasional gusts though few white clouds going past fast.

Red warning gone though now have amber. I expect nearer coast and river it's been worse.

poorbuthappy · 18/02/2022 13:33

Feels like it's ramping back up in South East Wales

Kent here. My garden cabin was ripped in half an hour or so ago.

4intheCorner · 18/02/2022 13:36

In Hot Fuzz style, the top of a church spire has fallen off in Wells 😳

Xiaoxiong · 18/02/2022 13:37

Maybe I spoke too soon, the lights are flickering again... apparently properties on the other side of the valley have lost power but we have been ok so far.

Lobelia123 · 18/02/2022 13:37

@Shannith

Surrey- still and calm here. I've shelved plans to ride my horse tomorrow morning as I'm choosing life, but we are supposed to be hacking tomorrow afternoon. Can't see that happening. Might be a bit too exciting.
Indeed . . . can take the cold and the rain, but the wind seems to corrupt horses' brains!!! Stay safe xx
MarshaBradyo · 18/02/2022 13:37

Might be an odd question but my weather on phone says 26mph

Is it much lower here or is the higher ranges sporadic?

Do people have much higher on their weather apps

Porcupineintherough · 18/02/2022 13:39

@MarshaBradyo is that wind speed? Have a look at the estimates for gusts.

Egghead68 · 18/02/2022 13:41

Not much action in London

Lockheart · 18/02/2022 13:42

You mean other than a massive hole in the O2 arena and all major stations closing?
GloriaSmud · 18/02/2022 13:43

Storm pictures.

What have the Romans ever done for us, eh ?

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 18/02/2022 13:44

May have spoken to soon - the gusts are picking up now and very noisy !

overthethamesfromyou · 18/02/2022 13:44

Power has gone in Sussex Smile

Feministwoman · 18/02/2022 13:44

Things had calmed down a bit here over the last hour, but now the wind has really picked up again

I don't recall the mature trees in our wood ever bending this much (been here 40 years)

Glad they are all (just) too far away to damage the house, if any do fall.

Livestock hunkered down by hedges, out of the wind. Cats and Dogs piled on sofas in a huddle.

Keep safe, everyone

Indoctro · 18/02/2022 13:45

We have lost power now, no wind but deep snow so that must of damaged it some how.

We are used to it we had no power for 5 days in Arwen

Feels like deja vu

Dont forget the wine!

Theonlyoneiknow · 18/02/2022 13:47

My HR is sky-high, we experienced roof damage in the last storm Arwen (cladding ripped of sides of Dormer) nobody (!) able to fix it - roofers are run ragged, and now this - wind and rain pissing into my exposed dormer. So Stressed.

NothingIsWrong · 18/02/2022 13:51

Roof is off one of the hangars at RAF Brize Norton according to local rumour...

BulletTrain · 18/02/2022 13:51

We have lost our entire garden fence. Gaaah.

Fruitbatdancer · 18/02/2022 13:54

Kent, Romney marsh here. All 4 routes out of village blocked by fallen trees, we’ve lost several ridge tiles (sounded like roof was coming off) and the big heavy patio table and glass top which I foolishly presumed fine is in a million pieces. Just watching next doors fence blow in and it’s starting to rain…

daisypond · 18/02/2022 13:55

Completely quiet now. Sw London.
