I'm sorry for starting this when we still have 200 posts to go, but I really should sleep and I'm worried that the previous thread will fill up. Here it is --> www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weather/4481220-Storm-Eunice please fill it, before using this one.

@oakleaffy

O2 in London says ''Torn in half''...but looks like a small hole in the tarp to me??
BBC have just caught up with MN. Grin
viques · 18/02/2022 12:45
@viques sadly not. Not covered by the extreme weather it seems. Ah well, once its done its done and sturdy
Wow, that’s a bummer. So sorry.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/02/2022 12:46

o2 seems to be continuing to shred and I guess as more gusts get under it, the more it will shred.

Not torn in half but pretty substantial damage!

Fences down here in our garden in Kent. Trampoline's lifted a couple of times. Wind is squealing through one of the bedroom windows. They're new UPVC so can't be that well fitted? Trying to keep occupied and not worried.

PalmLady · 18/02/2022 12:47

In Hertfordshire and it's pretty windy, but my Facebook is full of people taking children out to activities, albeit indoors. 😶

MrsRussell · 18/02/2022 12:48

Jackdaws are now out and flying (mad buggers) so I'm guessing it's dropped below the very destructive to just standard high winds.
Damper on our stove is still rattling and the Tank is still very clingy, but the Met Office thinks we've ridden out the worst now.

More than a slight rip at the Millennium Dome Shock

Leicestershire

Getting windy now

WinterIcelandicPony22 · 18/02/2022 12:49

Ah - just had a call from our neighbour. We have a hole in the roof. We think from where the chimney pot came down and then bounced off.

DH has just admitted that my bringing in the garden furniture last night was not an overeaction after all. Grin

Looks like quite a big hole on the BBC London news page
justasking111 · 18/02/2022 12:55

Cats turned up and smuggled against me, she's wise

Opal8 · 18/02/2022 12:56

cereallover · 18/02/2022 12:57

justasking111 · 18/02/2022 12:57

YetAnotherSpartacus · 18/02/2022 12:59

Someone's being nasty about this thread on the other thread ... name change maybe?

Wagsandclaws · 18/02/2022 13:03

Our horses have broken out of the paddock as the fence is down and are now in the front garden. It's waaaay to windy to catch them - they are ( understandably) spooky as fuck.

They've eaten my newly planted apple trees 😭 twats ( I do love them really )

I hope everyone is doing ok. One roof tile off here and some smashed pots so far.

@PeeAche

Our 22 year old walnut tree has just come up at the roots and smashed our shed to bits. Feeling both sad and a bit afraid. Kids are crying. Can hear a neighbour outside furiously hammering something. 🤯
Oh that’s sad 😞 Flowers for your tree

ah don't worry about them. To be frank, ill-informed wind up merchants always exist. They are best ignored.

@queenrollo it's suspiciously quiet here right now... I'm a couple of miles from the sea but there's nothing but marsh inbetween.

They can't be doing all that much working from home, then.
crumblecrimble · 18/02/2022 13:10

Oh no, we've just lost power. Only electricity for heating and hot water here, so hoping it'll come back today Sad

Yeah. Fuck em.

100 mph winds are unusual, especially in areas which aren't used to very strong wind. Of course people are going to be concerned.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/02/2022 13:10

I seem to be back in the big gusts again. Our upstairs windows are flexing quite nicely.

OP posts:
Xiaoxiong · 18/02/2022 13:11

Still gusty, but coming fewer and further between now on the south coast of Cornwall, I think it's blowing over.

We now have gorgeous sunshine and blue skies so we might brave a walk to see if the car is ok - I want to have a look from the road and see if the slates smashing a few hours ago were from our roof!!
