I'm sorry for starting this when we still have 200 posts to go, but I really should sleep and I'm worried that the previous thread will fill up. Here it is --> www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weather/4481220-Storm-Eunice please fill it, before using this one.

Lots all power, saw a tree fall in my rear view mirror, sadly I have to work and travel a bit during work time. But only doing the essential bits. No power and the eta to get it fixed is 23.00 tomorrow!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/02/2022 11:29

@HillsBesideTheSea it is for ice forming on the road if it is today's warnings. Skies will clear between showers.

@theDudesmummy

Big Jet TV's feed is on the BBC's live page on the storm. Just watched a BA 777 land, glad I wasn't on it, it looked very scary!
Talented pilot that was!
ofwarren · 18/02/2022 11:32

Rain cleared and brightened up again on the fylde coast

Lovemydoggie · 18/02/2022 11:32

Really strong gusts here in Kent now!

Greattimestroubledtimes · 18/02/2022 11:32

Somerset, edge of the red zone. Our garden fence down, and our neighbours and a tree down nearby.

TheSmallAssassin · 18/02/2022 11:32

@nordica I don't think radar will help much as there isn't a lot of precipitation/rain associated with the storm.

Greattimestroubledtimes · 18/02/2022 11:33

Oh and the lights flickering too

BewareTheLibrarians · 18/02/2022 11:33

East Anglia - Thought it was getting a bit gusty, then went outside to get the bins in and wow it is very loud and very windy! The noise from the gusts is incredible.

Our smaller trees are going diagonal, and we only have a few tall girthy trees between us and a lot of empty fen, so we’re relying on those not to fall on us.

As well as the usual wind noise, there’s a kind of low vibration/growly sound. Is anyone else getting that?

RagzRebooted · 18/02/2022 11:33

Well I was wrong about the bins! DH said they'd be OK because of the wind direction and his van being in the way, but they just went over so I've been out and secured them. Now we've got a power cut! (Sussex/Kent border).

IFinallyJoinedNowWhat · 18/02/2022 11:35

@BernardsarenotalwaysSaints pineapple rum is definitely one of your five a day… I just checked 😁

timestheyarechanging · 18/02/2022 11:36

Kent is bright and breezy!
Traffic is dreadful due to Dartford crossing closed (bridge from Essex closed so tunnel contraflow). Glad I'm
Home now! Not seen any damage thankfully

viques · 18/02/2022 11:37

@viques

The metal top of my garden side table has just launched itself off its base. It is getting very windy here, east London.
Just went out to put it in a safer place as I didn’t fancy a metre diameter metal frisbee coming through the window and it is scarey out there! Much noisier than when you are inside and the wind is very strong, you can feel it pushing you. Best wishes to anyone who has to go out. Take care.
HerbertChops · 18/02/2022 11:38

My dh was in Hounslow (near Heathrow) and an advertising sign blew down, missed his car and hit the van parked next to him. He’s home now but was out earlier securing scaffolding as we run a scaffolding company.

OMFG. Watching them coming in and I've got everything clenched.
HerbertChops · 18/02/2022 11:40

We’re getting the low growling noise here in SW London

allflownthenest · 18/02/2022 11:40

We had someone come and fit new vinolay in our bathroom this morning, as he was bringing the marine boarding for the floor he got blown into our pond, poor man. Luckily he is OK and working away upstairs..... I'm in the channel Islands.

Really is :( Everyone loves that tree and people opposite even put their Christmas tree decs on it. Wondering how The Storm Tower on the cliff edge is faring :/[/quote]
vixeyann I reckon there'll be a fair fall of cliff after this. Hope the storm tower is ok, especially as they are making such efforts to move it.

CatBook · 18/02/2022 11:41

The gusts here have been much much worse over the past hour. The house is shaking and we're fairly well protected despite being right on the coast.

itsgettingweird · 18/02/2022 11:42

Some flats in Gosport im Hampshire have lost their roof.

justasking111 · 18/02/2022 11:42

North West Wales it's arrived, went into co-op sunny ten minutes later driving rain and wind howling off the river. Not going out again. Neighbors below us had a brand new fence put in this week 20 odd panels, the eccentric buggers ripped out a fabulous old hedge which had been there for decades, 🙊

Belle2210 · 18/02/2022 11:42

@Mooserp

The live coverage from Heathrow is addictive! I'm meant to be working...
Same!! 😂😂 Would hate to be in one of those planes and even more so be the pilot 🙈.
WreckTangled · 18/02/2022 11:43

Power out here Sussex/Surrey border

Stokey · 18/02/2022 11:44

Just been out in East London. Very blustery now and clouding over. Didn't see any damage yet but quite a few bins have fallen over.

ancientgran · 18/02/2022 11:45

@Piggywaspushed

OK, hands up, who actually still owns torches that are making people rush out to buy batteries??

I don't think I have owned a torch for 15 years...

I've got wind up torches so no worry about batteries. I live on the edge of a town in South Devon and we frequently get power cut so always have candles and torches at strategic places round the house. When we had the kitchen done we had a gas hob so we can have hot food/drinks when the electric is off.
