I'm sorry for starting this when we still have 200 posts to go, but I really should sleep and I'm worried that the previous thread will fill up. Here it is --> www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weather/4481220-Storm-Eunice please fill it, before using this one.

@MrsMigginsCat

North Cornwall checking in. We're about 3 miles from the coast as the crow flies. It's windy and seems to be gathering speed here now.
Yep, it's starting to roll in now

Devon here and it's definitely started to ramp up now. I've heard something metal falling but couldn't tell what it was. It's odd as it's still sunny and clear looking, but there is now constant noise.

drybird · 18/02/2022 08:50

I'm on the SE Kent coast... it's getting serious here 😳

SpamhappyTootsie · 18/02/2022 08:50

One heavy rain squall about 7am then mostly blue skies and a bit of rain. Mid Lancs. Dog walked anyway, so that’s that done, fortunately. She can have indoor training games if it gets bad.

itsgettingweird · 18/02/2022 08:52

Hampshire has close its schools.

The council sent an email at 4.30am to headteachers! This is due to the update to red warning.

MarshaBradyo · 18/02/2022 08:52

Not much here yet London, some rain and wind

But Khan issued a stay home

We had half term plans but I guess we’ll cancel them

Dianaofthelakeofshiningwaters · 18/02/2022 08:53

Morning all. Very very windy here, North Cornwall about 5 miles inland. Infact don't think I've seen windier in 20 odd years. Power was off earlier but now back on. Just watching all the trees outside our house and hoping they all stay upright.

DH was called into work at 6am which was probably a blessing as it wasn't so bad. He said Truro not as windy.

Dog went out but back in pretty sharpish.
Stay safe everyone xx

@MrJollyLivesNextDoor

Seems to be picking up and getting gustier here in SE Wales over the last hour..

M4 POW bridge still open though so can't be reaching 80mph yet

Ive heard it's now shut?

We went to Swansea in December and I found the bridge fascinating however quite a scary idea. Was pleased to see how high sided it was - and glad it was dark on our journey both ways!

Back up to Swansea next month and we'll be travelling during daylight this time.

Celendine · 18/02/2022 08:54

South coast of Ireland , it's very bad ..house shaking and neighbour's six foot wall just blew over. Trees down and power gone, worst storm since Ophelia and we're used to gales on the coast.

GoldStorm · 18/02/2022 08:55

Does anyone know when it is supposed to north London?

AlexaIncognito · 18/02/2022 08:55

Cambridgeshire / Fens border here. Windy and drizzling but not excessively so.

Secured everything I can and hoping for the best.

livinthedream1995 · 18/02/2022 08:56

Just been outside for a cigarette, blowy but bearable at the minute. Just tasked my OH with making the bits in the garden as safe as he can, but in the absence of a shed we’re kind of limited where we can put things 😐

Hb12 · 18/02/2022 08:56

Isle of Wight here, Right down south. Wind picking up, occasional bursts of rain.

itsgettingweird · 18/02/2022 08:56

@GoldStorm

Does anyone know when it is supposed to north London?
Think the worst is meant to first hit about 10/11am.

I'm Hampshire and it's saying 10am here so will be heading your way soon after.

claireymrsd · 18/02/2022 08:58

Southampton here and it's not bad yet.
Most of our schools decided to shut last night after advice from the local authority and it being declared a major incident.
We've been upgraded to Red now too with worst period between 1000-1500

FantasticFebruary · 18/02/2022 09:00

@Snozzlemaid

Just woken up in Bath. All quiet here with blue skies at the moment.
@Snozzlemaid

Where did you go to bed?

Alexandra2001 · 18/02/2022 09:01

Cornwall... Big Dougie fir nr by, about 23m tall, it's being blown around like a sampling, luckily it can't reach the house but is v close to high voltage power lines.
Ah as i write the very top has just snapped off!

LilyGlobe · 18/02/2022 09:01

South Hampshire here, we’ve closed work as the flood risk is also too high to risk. I live slightly inland and it was very calm half an hour ago but has picked up massively now.

Husband says metoffice are saying it’s not coming in as far as expected, will just clip the Isle of Wight, and will pass over quicker than expected but I have no idea where he’s reading that. He’s wanting to prove I was wrong to close the business, I think 🙄

MrsTrumpton · 18/02/2022 09:01

@GoldStorm

Does anyone know when it is supposed to north London?
Around 10am, I think, and will continue until 3pm.
Teamill · 18/02/2022 09:02

At the moment it's really not windy at all in my part of South London. The odd gust but nothing I would even notice if we weren't focussed on the weather.

Snozzlemaid · 18/02/2022 09:03

@FantasticFebruary 🤣🤣 In Bath thankfully! Haven't blown here from Cornwall

Jovanka · 18/02/2022 09:05

Just had the postman deliver something, and then saw him trot away up the road, I hope he's in and safe before it gets bad.

We’re in north London. Posties here have been told to deliver parcels only and to be back by 10am.

Bedsheets4knickers · 18/02/2022 09:05

Ooohhhh can I join ? Essex based . V excited about this storm . Not a people getting hurt kinda way Smile

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/02/2022 09:06

For those in the warning areas saying it is quiet - the winds will ramp up pretty quickly. Remember that even in the red warning area, not everyone will see the severest of gusts.

Pthagonal · 18/02/2022 09:07

SE Wales here, just north of the red zone. The wind is picking back up after a lull.
