I'm sorry for starting this when we still have 200 posts to go, but I really should sleep and I'm worried that the previous thread will fill up. Here it is --> www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weather/4481220-Storm-Eunice please fill it, before using this one.

@TokyoSushi

Nothing doing here in Cheshire at the moment.
Just came on to say the same. Nothing. Seems like a normal wind gusts. Unless calm before the storm. Will get dog out for her run early.
OystercatchersPaddling · 18/02/2022 08:21

Fairly windy in the Channel Islands, although quite normal for here.
Hope everyone keeps safe.

@MrsTrumpton

Just woken up to London being in the red zone! It's already very blustery and I'm glad we secured our bins last night, but the proximity of trees and scaffolding on other houses is making me very nervous.
Me too! My neighbour is having the mother of house extensions done (one of those, 'why didn't you just knock the whole house down and start again?' type of extensions) and I'm trying not to envision their scaffolding- and the rest- ending up inside my bedroom.

DS has a swimming lesson at 9:30... 20-minute bike ride on the river and I'm not sure I should do it. I'm in West London. It's blustery but nothing out of the ordinary... yet.

@ATrifleofFun

This is filling up fast. A bit breezy in North Hampshire, not many cars around so everyone must be WFH. More concerned about getting home later!
I'm in north Hampshire and notice that all the schools here have closed/are doing online learning today. It doesn't seem too bad - yet.
feb2022 · 18/02/2022 08:23

North west Lancashire here, nothing for us so far, a little bit of drizzle
We always miss out on the exiting weather up this end

IFinallyJoinedNowWhat · 18/02/2022 08:23

Morning all, I'm in Kent and the wind has definitely picked up since I got up at half five to let the dog out before it got too windy. She insisted that I should go out with her to get soaked too Grin It's really picked up in the last half hour or so - not constant but getting really gusty now. Rain seems to have stopped though.

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 18/02/2022 08:23

@MumbleCrumbs

I'm in the Midlands and the sun is out
Same, West Midlands and blue skies
CaveMum · 18/02/2022 08:24

Worst of the wind still looks to be off South Coast of Ireland.

liveforsummer · 18/02/2022 08:25

@Igneococcus I've just seen the radar and looks like we are outside the snow zone as often is the case (Edinburgh), much to DC's disappointment. It's brightened up here now so just extremely cold

FuzzyPuffling · 18/02/2022 08:25

Woah... suddenly ramped up here. There she blows...😮

LilacPaisley · 18/02/2022 08:26

Happy birthday @Snozzlemaid and @Alrightqueenie 💕

Likewise. Hope you have the right kind of birthday candles!

BarbiesBeaver · 18/02/2022 08:26

North Devon coast - gusts now very powerful.

Hugasauras · 18/02/2022 08:27

@Belle2210

Morning That's the heavy snow started here in North Aberdeenshire.
South Aberdeenshire too! At least we are missing the wind for once.
Furrow · 18/02/2022 08:27

Waves at Cavemum, we are Cambs/Suffolk border too. Wind is picking up now, surrounded by trees and this is our first major it is very noisy.

Cheekypeach · 18/02/2022 08:28

South Devon coast, winds are really strong now. DH pissing me off wanting to take DD to nursery, a drive down a narrow country road lined with tall trees Angry

Vargas · 18/02/2022 08:28

I'm in London. Have left rubbish out for pickup as council says they will pick up this morning before wind gets really bad at noon. Really hoping they do what they say as I don't fancy going out there later if they don't pick up!

Just had the postman deliver something, and then saw him trot away up the road, I hope he's in and safe before it gets bad.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 18/02/2022 08:28

N Wales. A bit blustery and rainy but not too bad. Yet.
All schools and colleges decided yesterday to shut so I have put online learning up for my class and dd is home learning for the last day of term.

But her driving instructor is still expecting her for her lesson at 9. Prepaid so if we cancel now it costs us. Hoping he will cancel instead.

AchillesLastStand · 18/02/2022 08:29

North Staffordshire here and it was very calm and sunny at 7 this morning. Dark skies have now come over and it’s raining, and I can hear the wind. I’m about to take DS to school in the car, we usually walk.

Stay safe everyone.

Sweetpea84 · 18/02/2022 08:30

I’m London and my road is currently one massive road works. Water pipes, broadband the lot are going in you can’t even park on the road. Scared all the gates etc that have been put up to block the road will be flying into my house.

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 18/02/2022 08:30

North Wales coast here. Was woken up by gusty rain (nothing out of the ordinary) at 6am and then it stopped. It's been beautifully calm for over an hour and we have sunshine

Will try to upload some pics of South Wales/ red warning area

BerylStrip · 18/02/2022 08:30

Things have really picked up down here now. It is very windy indeed and I’m very glad I put everything away in the garage yesterday afternoon.

Just started to rain as well.

Predicted peak seems to vary quite a bit depending on who you believe but still about an hour away.

Hope everyone is staying safe, tucked up inside and warm !

(South Cornwall very close to the north coast - so red zone !)

Indoctro · 18/02/2022 08:31

Heavy snow in NE Scotland just away to walk kids to school bus, our school is open

Notonthestairs · 18/02/2022 08:31

Hertfordshire - very wet & blowy until 7.30, now a few gusty winds, brightening skies to the west and the birds are singing!

MrsTrumpton · 18/02/2022 08:32

ChardonnaysPetDragon That's good to know! We've got a massive one at the bottom of our garden (in someone else's garden) that is already swaying a lot!

DoctorSnortles · 18/02/2022 08:32

Getting fairly lively in my bit of Lincolnshire. Fully anticipate that the roof will be in the back garden by 2pm.
