I'm sorry for starting this when we still have 200 posts to go, but I really should sleep and I'm worried that the previous thread will fill up. Here it is --> www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weather/4481220-Storm-Eunice please fill it, before using this one.

A bit breezy in Dorset, last night was really calm when I went to bed at 11am, then we had a bit of rain and wind picked up a lot by 5am but still not as bad as I thought it would be, I’m guessing it will get worse over the next few hours?

Just seen idiots on the news waking near the sea with their teenagers 😡, how bloody stupid.

Nailsbythesea · 18/02/2022 08:07

South west Bristol was quiet at 4 but a little bit of wind now at 8 but not much

Taffiy · 18/02/2022 08:08

Near Swansea here, bit windy but nothing too bad.

RosesAndHellebores · 18/02/2022 08:08

Wet and windy here in Surrey. Have advised my staff to wfh today. Good call about chargers. Just doing that now. DH has gone to work!

Waves at @OhYouBadBadKitten to derail thread. How's your dd getting along?

Cheekypeach · 18/02/2022 08:08

The winds have really picked up here in Devon so it’s moving in.

Alrightqueenie · 18/02/2022 08:10

Happy birthday @Snozzlemaid its my birthday too! Have a fab time watching the debris flying around the street! 🎂🎁

SparkleWhale · 18/02/2022 08:11

Happy birthday @Snozzlemaid and @Alrightqueenie 💕

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 18/02/2022 08:11

Really raining and breezy in my part of kent at the moment.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 18/02/2022 08:12

Seems to be picking up and getting gustier here in SE Wales over the last hour..

M4 POW bridge still open though so can't be reaching 80mph yet

ATrifleofFun · 18/02/2022 08:12

This is filling up fast. A bit breezy in North Hampshire, not many cars around so everyone must be WFH. More concerned about getting home later!

Snozzlemaid · 18/02/2022 08:12

Thank you. Happy Birthday to you too @Alrightqueenie 🎂🎈

Waxonwaxoff0 · 18/02/2022 08:13

Just left to take DS to school in Derbyshire. Bit windy but nothing out of the ordinary, it's supposed to pick up at lunchtime. Blue sky with the odd rain shower.

Dimensions3 · 18/02/2022 08:13

Happy Birthday @Snozzlemaid and @Alrightqueenie CakeBrew

Hope the day will be memorable for good reasons and not stormy ones. ⛈

Dimensions3 · 18/02/2022 08:15

@Dimensions3

We are in active Amber alert with Red supposed to start at 10:00am. It’s pretty calm here. We are in London and near trees, there’s not much wind and not much debris.
I will not say it’s calm ever again - jinx. Winds have picked up a lot now. Can see airplanes changing route to Heathrow- I would not want to be up there.
MumbleCrumbs · 18/02/2022 08:15

I'm in the Midlands and the sun is out

Igneococcus · 18/02/2022 08:15

@liveforsummer local roadwatch FB page has posts saying there is snow on the roads further inland (pictures from around Tyndrum and a bit further West). Sleeting here at the coast now.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 18/02/2022 08:15

Happy Birthday Snozzle and Queenie 🎉 💨

Belle2210 · 18/02/2022 08:16

Morning That's the heavy snow started here in North Aberdeenshire.

Eesha · 18/02/2022 08:16

placemarking, London here

MrsTrumpton · 18/02/2022 08:16

Just woken up to London being in the red zone! It's already very blustery and I'm glad we secured our bins last night, but the proximity of trees and scaffolding on other houses is making me very nervous.

Ecosralayce · 18/02/2022 08:17

rain has cleared now so blue sky and perfectly calm here in S Yorks. Kids just off to school, I'm off to work. All feels a bit at odds with the predictions but will see what happens later.....
(still stressing about ds in a plane somewhere on route from US to the Netherlands right nown though!)

flowerschocandchampagne · 18/02/2022 08:18

It's pretty windy in Southampton now!

Cuck00soup · 18/02/2022 08:18

Well that’s today’s plans blown apart.

Does anyone know if private companies have any obligations when there are red weather warnings to move bookings to another time?

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 18/02/2022 08:18

The trees are not in leaf yet, so they should be more stable.

I'm NW Essex here, 15 miles south of Cambridge so in the new red zone. I can tell the wind is picking up as DD's window has started making it's funny whistling sound (we're resealing them this weekend). Fortunately dismantled the trampoline the other day and it currently resides in the skip on the drive - just hope the contents of this don't do a runner Wizard of Oz style later.
