Yep. Been to the beach twice today and my 3 year old was in the sea stripped off to his pants. Never seen so many groups of people sea swimming all day on New Year's Eve before. Normally it's a quick dash in and out.

20 degrees and sunny today here in rural France.

Looking at the huge stack of wood we were planning on burning and wondering how long we can make it last...might get through next winter with it at this rate.

Was outside playing with the ddog today in a jumper. No coat, gloves, hat. A warm breeze should not be here in January.

My DH and DDad wear shorts all year round. We are up north in the cold. No man wearing shorts would surprise me 😂

I know...I checked the weather forecast a few days ago and was astonished it was going to be about 16 degrees. Barely a chill. Very strange for this time of year. We haven't put the heating on for days

I totally agree. I am ALWAYS cold and even I have turned off the heating a bit over the last couple of days. I can’t get over it to be honest. It is freaking me out!

I do remember other early Januarys being very mild - I’m talking several years and more ago - people sitting outside cafes and pubs etc., so not getting too wound up.
Mind you we’re in the SE.
It’s forecast to get cold again soon - meanwhile let’s find comfort in the fact that with energy costs soaring, at least mild weather will have saved a bit of the heating bills.

Yea definitely I was super weirded out walking about this morning it could have been June

We had flowers until a few weeks ago, then there was a large dump of snow (rural France.. foot of the Jura Mountains) and now things are starting to bud and our grass is showing new shoots...

14 degrees in Wales but still hammering down with rain all day so I didn't feel too freaked out.

It will be freezing soon enough. Be careful what you wish for. It was a lovely day today, like April but with no leaves on the trees and a strangely low sun.

Why on Earth are people 'freaking out'?

We live on a living planet, temperatures change. Nothing to feel 'weird' or 'freaked out' by.
