Kate & The Middletons

I am currently reading Russsll Myers Catherine & William. Enjoying it but one thing that stands out is how the Middletons have never put a foot wrong.
Carole was not from an aristocratic background nor was Michael but they raised their kids not to put a step wrong. Kate also had embarrassing family members (Uncle Gary) but she still invited him to the wedding which was the right thing to do & it nipped the media scandal in the bud & took the wind out of any sails.. Meghan invited none of her extended family or her dad & it caused massive media speculation.
Kate was born for royal life & is a natural. Very proud of our future queen. Her parents did an amazing job.

Your ad hominem attacks do not paint you in a positive light.

OneLilacHedgehog · 04/10/2026 22:50

Do your and others constant name calling of strangers paint you in a positive light?

Well I'm thoroughly enjoying watching them close ranks to keep Ham well & truly on the outside where they belong!
Long may the ranks stay shut to the "private citizens"!

I genuinely struggle with this sort of sentiment.

I don’t think any of us on these threads knows what goes on inside another family and ultimately on a human level, I hope they all reconcile.

Do you hope Markle reconcile with her poor 82 year old father too & all the rest of her family!
I hope they don't reconcile, Ham along with Andy have done more than enough damage to this generation of the royal family & need to be kept far far away. They made their bed & boarded one way their freedom flight... or so we thought! But they couldn't even tell the truth about that!

Ultimately, on a human level, I think they won’t.

I don’t think it is necessarily a bad thing. It is a valuable example of only accepting so much before you have to go lc or nc.

It is sad but enough is sometimes really enough.

I have never seen her referred to as a Saint.
Perhaps you can provide some links to these articles with positive press, which is "more than she deserves"?
Just to add; you are incorrect with your comparison to the Royals "in their 80s".
You have also possibly forgotten that she was off with treatment for cancer.

Edited

I wasn't talking about you specifically.

I know she's been battling cancer. She's been in remission for 18 months. Unfortunately, regular people, sick or not, still have to get up and work everyday. It's not like she has the hardest of job. She goes on engagements, talk to people, take a few photos and go home. She can easy do one or two every couple of days.

And Kate has always been work shy. There's always excuses for her. First, it was that she needed time to adapt to Royal life (even though the reason we're told William took so long to propose was so that she could be prepared for this life), then it was the new baby, then she wanted to focus on the children until all of them start school,...

Charles is still undergoing cancer treatment and carried out more than 500 engagements last year. If not Kate, you'd think his heir would step up a little more and help his sick father but no. He was outnumbered by Princess Anne and Camilla (both in her late 70s), the Duke of Gloucester (in his 80s)

There is no going back after all the appalling accusations & inaccuracies spouted on Oprah, Netflix & in Spare. The completely sold out the royal family to get as much money as possible & destroyed the Queen & Prince Philip's final years who were also dealing with the Andy scandal

“Unfortunately, regular people, sick or not, still have to get up and work everyday.”

There are plenty of people in this world that do not have to work. Some who have never had cancer, even. Get over it.

It seems like it is a very difficult job. Markle couldn't hack it, didn't have the skills or the ability & then fled back across the Atlantic proving how entirely unsuitable she was.
Not many women could do the position as diligently or as gracefully as Catherine. She is composed, cool , calm & collected

You’re entitled to that opinion, but you’re presenting it as fact without actually providing any evidence….. Saying she’s the “least working royal,” does the “bare minimum,” or isn’t passionate about her work requires more than personal perception. If the numbers really don’t lie, then show the numbers and sources rather than making claims based on how you feel about her
Also a compassionate and unbiased person would acknowledge she’s recovering from cancer.

Counts and tallies of royal engagements are released every year. You can go on Google. Kate has been at the bottom pretty much every year since she married Willian

The job in itself isn't a hard job.

The issue is the heavy scrutiny and the way the media target women who marry into the family

All of them suffered.

TheOvertGardener · 04/10/2026 23:38

One of them wanted to get paid for it.

Catherine handled the pressure so much better than Markle. She is the epitome of calm & serenity, she understands the Royal Family & her place in it. I firmly believe Catherine fulfils her role so well due to her solid, functional & stable upbringing.

I think underneath the beauty & glamour there is a real steeliness & grit in Catheine, I believe she gets this from Carole & no doubt Carol has given Catherine many words of wisdom & encouragement over the years.

Also just to add Markle cashed in on the royal family while still married to Hazbeen.

Chelsy walked away from the Royal Family & never once slated them or said anything derogatory to the press about Harry or his family. She was too good for him & I am so happy she got away & is enjoying her gorgeous life.

As an African woman the Royal Family would have been a massive culture shock to Chelsea but she never batted an eyelid.

Like Catherine Chelsy came from a very supportive loving family. Harry mentions in Spare how much he loved going to Zimbabwe & catching up with Chelsea's parents..

Funny that he has never even met his father in law Mr Markle...

Why can’t you believe it? Remission means the cancer is gone. Cancer survivors (including my sister BTW) have to get straight back to work. That’s the way it is for survivors up and down the country.

Well done you! , slow hand clap .

I'm sure William is heartbroken that his brother ended up being a lying traitor. Did you not see the Oprah interview?

Recklessismymiddlename · 05/10/2026 06:11

@U53rName i think she has colitis or crohns,
her cancer was found during planned surgery, for an existing condition, so I’d guess one of those. I have cousins with both. Floors them.

I haven’t been able to work with my condition for 30 years, whereas others have been. And this year, it’s been back with a vengeance. Everyone is different.

U53rName · 05/10/2026 06:16

fuschiaproudparrot · 04/10/2026 21:26

What's your point with this ?

If you’ll read the quote, Nono said that she’s the least working royal. Fenella replied that it’s because Catherine had cancer. I said that she’s been in remission for over 2 years, which is apparently out of order—how dare I? And I responded that people up and down the country get back to work after cancer.

Your ad hominem attacks do not paint you in a positive light.

It’s a sign of desperation - that’s all they’ve got.
