Kate & The Middletons

I am currently reading Russsll Myers Catherine & William. Enjoying it but one thing that stands out is how the Middletons have never put a foot wrong.
Carole was not from an aristocratic background nor was Michael but they raised their kids not to put a step wrong. Kate also had embarrassing family members (Uncle Gary) but she still invited him to the wedding which was the right thing to do & it nipped the media scandal in the bud & took the wind out of any sails.. Meghan invited none of her extended family or her dad & it caused massive media speculation.
Kate was born for royal life & is a natural. Very proud of our future queen. Her parents did an amazing job.

I see what you're trying to do and who you're encouraging us to criticise.

Tabbytiger122 · 17/09/2026 16:02

I'm not encouraging anyone to criticise anyone. I was merely saying that even though Kate did not grow up aristocratic or royal the royal lifestyle is second nature to her.
Her discretion, her intuition & her consideration is incredible. It would be understandable if she came from an aristocratic background as they close ranks but Kate was outside those circles & is now more royal than the royals themselves.
As I said I am reading Russell Myers book & the Middleton's as a family have been a huge asset to the crown

100% because it didn't even need to be i cluded. The points coild been made without unnecessarily adding the comparison in why is always a competition or a comparison. Situations can be vastly different devil is in the details thsy we don't have access to.

twocornichons · 17/09/2026 17:33

I don’t think they’ve been a huge asset to the crown at all ! Illness aside ( and this is before she became unwell) Kate could have done an awful lot more to help Meghan who was being bullied by the press - all whilst spearheading an anti bullying campaign ! Oh the irony .. luckily I don’t want to read about them but an asset they clearly are not

How could she have helped? Any advice offered by Kate or Sophie was not heeded !!! Also that would be her husband, the Queen & KCs remit, not Kates!
You can only help people who want to be helped!
I for one think we are incredibly lucky to have Kate, she has never publicly embarrassed herself or her family as she was raised so well.

Oh the irony indeed.

I remember Waity Katie being mentioned during the OW interview.

From a woman who makes a song and dance about bullying too. And then threw the vaguest allegation of racism into the ether to create upset and massive press and social media bullying.

If only C had shared her lipgloss and held her hand, it would all have been fine.

Oh, I really feel life is too short to believe the tale of the lipgloss. I am sure that and the other stories Harry told all lies!

Tabbytiger122 · 17/09/2026 18:54

I think Kate is just following the royal protocol of "Never Complain, Never Explain". The Middletons obviously live by this mantra too as their conduct has been exemplary over the past 20 years.
As always nature vs nurture!

William is very fortunate.

The women in that family are stuck up their own arseholes

Kate is also lazy AF!

Better that way round than having someone else stuck up them I should imagine…

Still, it’ll maybe help pay for their own lipgloss.

Oh Meghan, spend time on the class WhatsApp groups and welcome to school run traffic.

Backedoffhackedoff · 17/09/2026 19:14

I can’t understand the surprise- the fact that she’s is relatively normal is why you’re getting all this benefit. Aristocrats aren’t known for their manners or grace or “suitability”- look at Charles Spencer and the king going for it like alley cats.

The aristocracy are uniformly fucked up. A nice normal rich girl was probably always his best bet.

she is lazy as fuck though

Yep, I couldn't imagine Kate being so disorganised & chaotic on her children's first day of school.
Remember the poor Queen died the day the Wales children started Lambrook! Kate wisely stayed behind with the kids, comforted them & stayed focused on getting them settled with school.
Cool, calm & collected Catherine.

And don’t forget your lipgloss, girl!

fantom · 17/09/2026 19:28

What a sycophantic stance OP! I assume the book you're reading is a tad once-sided? I will admit she seems nice and smiley, but bland and inoffensive too. She seems to have a stable and loving family which will have been a huge benefit to Will.

Mistyvale · 17/09/2026 19:30

Why does everyone say that she’s lazy?

RastaMouse99 · 17/09/2026 19:30

They've put lots of feet (foots?) wrong but have sailed onwards, like Britannia herself.

Mistyvale · 17/09/2026 19:30

Because she’s never worked.

RastaMouse99 · 17/09/2026 19:36

Mistyvale · 17/09/2026 19:30

Why does everyone say that she’s lazy?

She had a barely job - eventually, from a parent's friend (Jigsaw). But only after the late Queen hinted that she ought to get a job (I don't think the Queen's hints were subtle). Then she and Wills work as little as possible, thinking that all their privilege should be theirs regardless of what they do for King & Country.
Her sister has definitely got the best deal. Married to a very rich man who appears to adore her (and why not?) with no one suggesting she should lift a finger. She can afford staff so she can pursue her sporting endeavours, but can also spend as much time with the children as she wants. Perfect.

Do you mind me asking why you care so much about a complete stranger and a random family that decided for themselves a while back they were all special. It's so odd to me that you can just decide you're more important than others, convince enough other people (think: cults) and then suddenly: you're 'royal' (whatever that means).

It's grown ups still playing with real-life barbie dolls. Don't you see it?

Focus on yourself, don't worry about a rich stranger and family we're all funding.
