I am currently reading Russsll Myers Catherine & William. Enjoying it but one thing that stands out is how the Middletons have never put a foot wrong.
Carole was not from an aristocratic background nor was Michael but they raised their kids not to put a step wrong. Kate also had embarrassing family members (Uncle Gary) but she still invited him to the wedding which was the right thing to do & it nipped the media scandal in the bud & took the wind out of any sails.. Meghan invited none of her extended family or her dad & it caused massive media speculation.
Kate was born for royal life & is a natural. Very proud of our future queen. Her parents did an amazing job.

She has three children, of course she works. That’s if you take seriously the job of being a good parent which she seems to do. And presumably her parents did so also.

Yep, I couldn't imagine Kate being so disorganised & chaotic on her children's first day of school.
Remember the poor Queen died the day the Wales children started Lambrook! Kate wisely stayed behind with the kids, comforted them & stayed focused on getting them settled with school.
Cool, calm & collected Catherine.

How do you know M wasn’t cool, calm and collected? Do you know her personally? Are you Carole Middleton?

I don’t think they’ve been a huge asset to the crown at all ! Illness aside ( and this is before she became unwell) Kate could have done an awful lot more to help Meghan who was being bullied by the press - all whilst spearheading an anti bullying campaign ! Oh the irony .. luckily I don’t want to read about them but an asset they clearly are not

You should read the book William & Catherine by Russell Myers.
There is a few very interesting paragraphs about Meghan's former staff accusing her of bullying & the palace not doing enough to help the staff. Kate was very vocal behind closed doors about how the staff were being treated by Mrs Ham. You should read it!

Pulling your kids out of school after two days is the opposite of cool, calm & collected!
It's disorganised & chaotic!

She had a barely job - eventually, from a parent's friend (Jigsaw). But only after the late Queen hinted that she ought to get a job (I don't think the Queen's hints were subtle). Then she and Wills work as little as possible, thinking that all their privilege should be theirs regardless of what they do for King & Country.
Her sister has definitely got the best deal. Married to a very rich man who appears to adore her (and why not?) with no one suggesting she should lift a finger. She can afford staff so she can pursue her sporting endeavours, but can also spend as much time with the children as she wants. Perfect.

I agree with you here , Pippa definitely pulled the better straw. Her life is idyllic. Yet Pippa was also raised the same as Kate & has never done anything to embarrass her sister.

I don’t really understand this thread, of course she would be better behaved, and more classy than the royal family, they are from lines of privilege and entitlement. It isn’t surprising at all that she is more together, composed, and pleasent. I’m not sure what you were getting at.

Do you mind me asking why you care so much about a complete stranger and a random family that decided for themselves a while back they were all special. It's so odd to me that you can just decide you're more important than others, convince enough other people (think: cults) and then suddenly: you're 'royal' (whatever that means).

It's grown ups still playing with real-life barbie dolls. Don't you see it?

Focus on yourself, don't worry about a rich stranger and family we're all funding.

They are not complete random strangers, they are in fact "public figures"!

I'm not surprised. I said I was reading a book in which it highlighted how well raised Kate was & how her family have always been the epitome of discretion.

I think the OP is Russell Myers' mum doing a bit of stealth advertising 🧐

Why does everyone say that she’s lazy?

Does she go to work everyday. She barely does anything

MyManinCaracas · 17/09/2026 20:07

It doesn’t matter that they “never put a foot wrong” whatever that means, because they will never belong in that world. Their uncle Gary, with his scandalous life, actually acts more like a royal than Kate and karol.

PapayaMarmalade · 17/09/2026 20:09

They call her lazy because she and William are highly lazy compared to their elderly relatives.
In 2025 (after her cancer) Kate did 68 engagements. William did 202. Charles did 535 and Anne did 478.

They also do the bare minimum otherwise. Charles learned French and Welsh. William and Kate have not. They talk about wanting to do charity work ‘behind the scenes’ but as non experts their sole value is in bringing visibility and money to a cause.

CurlewKate · 17/09/2026 20:16

Hmm. Thread title Katherine and the Middletons. Actual thread isn’t Meghan awful?

and let’s give a shout out to the Nannie’s and various other servants she uses!

hardly rushed off her feet….

Kate had the maturity & good grace to still invite him to their wedding! Everyone has an embarrassing family member!

Charles & Anne don't have three children to look after!

They BOTH take the entire school holidays off! No other job would allow that and during term time the children are at school all day!
Charles is 77 and has cancer and still works harder. They’re lazy and they pick the engagements they want.

I think actions speak louder than words. Going on Oprah airing your dirty laundry is the opposite of cool, calm & collected. As is pulling your kids out of school after two days...Just my opinion!

Imagine asking to share lipgloss… Team Kate.

JacknDiane · 17/09/2026 20:29

They aren't perfect, dont be daft. Its obvious the sisters have fell out in a big way. Like normal families do.

Obviousquestion · 17/09/2026 20:29

If you join the RF of course you have servants. That’s how it’s set up. She wouldn’t be able to do even 68 engagements (not forgetting ill health) if those arrangements weren’t in place. Apart from easing logistical stress it doesn’t have much to do with actual parenting. Which is work, if you take it seriously.

FancyKitten · 17/09/2026 20:30

I often wonder what Pippa & Vogue chat about at the dinner table in Eden Rock. Probably the kids… Wonder if they get on together?
