The royal family

Can we allow Harry and Meghan a clean sheet

Just that really.

When they come back should we just judge them by their future behaviour, not the past and try to be positive.

After the events of the last few days with Jason Arday it might help the RF if the media and social media allowed them to get on with things in a positive way. Frankly the only person who should be aggrieved is the Princess of Wales and maybe the King but he clearly want peace now what with his illness.

Let’s see if they can be positive and an asset to the UK and the RF.

Absolutely! If they stop courting the media, press interest will quickly quieten after the initial interest.

Of course they could have done this years ago! If they continue to make a living by selling themselves, sharing pics of their kids, doing press releases etc press interest will remain. It’s up to them really!

People are judged on what the have said, and what they have done.
Harry and Meghan have no exemption on this.
The Jason Arday case was tragic, but very different indeed. No parallels.

Mooselander · 20/08/2026 12:28

Sorry, but no. Actions have consequences.

The world isn’t going to forget their lies or their utter contempt for their families, nor should it.

You can’t behave like that and expect everyone to just move on.

sunflowersintheday · 20/08/2026 12:30

They aren't going to be able to live below the radar. However, the reasons for them coming back to the UK aren't clear. If it's to live quietly and with no publicity, no PR and no SM, I hope that's successful for them.

thenightsky · 20/08/2026 12:30

Maybe when they apologise to the British people for calling us racists.

AuntieBiotics · 20/08/2026 12:32

Trying to draw parallels with the Arday case is very odd.

As a member of the public I don't really care either way where they are living. If I were a member of the Royal Family I would not be impressed and would not be allowing them a clean sheet after they have spent 6 years slagging off the family for financial gain.

You'd be very wary about speaking to either of them at family events as the worry would be every word would be in the next book or Netflix documentary.

Difficult when every charity shop has 100 copies of Spare sitting on the book shelf.

Noras · 20/08/2026 12:34

I guess I drew parallels to the Arday case as there have been allegations that the media hounded Arday ( although he did court the publicity it seems)

Harry believes and there is some evidence that Meghan was hounded as in avocado gate ( both Kate and Meghan eat them but Meghan got accused of destroying the planet).

Do you think they would agree to retracting all the lies they told?

And suppose there are also parallels that both JA and M&H were happy to use lies to destroy the lives and careers of people ?

JSMill · 20/08/2026 12:42

Omg avocado gate? One stupid story eight years ago?! M would have been chosen instead of K because she was the shiny new toy for the media at the time.

Venusunbroken · 20/08/2026 12:42

This feels very personal, do you know them? I can’t imagine anyone being so invested in a strangers life to write like this,

GodIhatethepatriarcy · 20/08/2026 12:43

Er, NFW.

HouseOfGoldandBones · 20/08/2026 12:44

If you live by the sword, you die by the sword

AnitaCam · 20/08/2026 12:45

Definitely no. Throwing away information is foolhardy. They have shown themselves to favour the Blame Game and Victim Scripts. It’s a very manipulative trend.

When people show you who they are, believe them.

OliveMyLove · 20/08/2026 12:47

Good question.

What would that look like for you?

What? You're comparing the Arday case with someone's criticism of Meghan for eating avocados?

BemusedAmerican · 20/08/2026 12:48

Just wait until you have a natural disaster and they schedule another photo op on the ruins of people's lives. Then you will see what we've had to put up with for the last six years. The photo op on the smouldering ruins of the LA fires was the last straw for me. And now Meghan can merch her clothing just like she did at Bondi Beach.

Good luck, UK.

Quite. Some of which were very nasty and very damaging.

Terriblytwee · 20/08/2026 12:58

Absolutely not

Wolfiefan · 20/08/2026 13:01

Is that you Meg?

LlynTegid · 20/08/2026 13:02

Perhaps leaving them in peace and in a way ignoring them should be the best response. Consideration for their children, you do not choose your parents.

chirrupybird · 20/08/2026 13:03

If they just live their lives in private it will be fine, if they want to muscle there way into the limelight all over the place (except when they demand their privacy) it may all kick off again.
