When they come back should we just judge them by their future behaviour, not the past and try to be positive.

After the events of the last few days with Jason Arday it might help the RF if the media and social media allowed them to get on with things in a positive way. Frankly the only person who should be aggrieved is the Princess of Wales and maybe the King but he clearly want peace now what with his illness.

Let’s see if they can be positive and an asset to the UK and the RF.

I liked them both initially, very much. I do remember thinking it was so crass and rude for her to be so sneery about the wedding, essentially insulting everyone who watched it because they felt so much goodwill and pleasure for the couple, and then so fucking stupid to say they had already got married when they hadn't. Yes of course it's a "spectacle". You're marrying a prince! This stupid interview you're doing is also a spectacle!

Absolutely. It was an incredible day, I absolutely loved it, and the crowds came out in force to cheer and wave, it was such a happy occasion. .
Meghan was very sneery about it, you are right, and I thought that was very arrogant, rude and unpleasant. They could have had any wedding they wanted, a low key one would have been fine.
In Spare, Harry said she wanted either Westminster Abbey or St Paul's Cathedral. So, a lot of contradiction going on there.

SHe moaned about the musty smell in the church. Sneered at the £30m wedding and said the it wasn't even her real wedding anyway and they actually got married the day before in a private ceremony. Was rude to the Queen's dresser. Was horrible to Kate and binned her flowers.

I think it would be a mistake to move on and say everything is fine. It's not fine. Why cant she forgive her father and move on. And he did nothing compared to the upset she's caused.

I remember also feeling irrationally irritated that they had supposedly had this little private ceremony so they could have a small, intimate thing that was just them - but it was so important to her that everyone knew about it! "We didn't want this big spectacle, so let me tell Oprah Winfrey in an interview watched by millions all about the tiny private thing so everyone knows how private we are!"

Reminds me of being at school when teachers would say they needed children to be quiet so we'd all start shouting, "I'M QUIET!"

Many decades ago I worked in a day centre for adults with learning disabilities. One service user would come into the busy canteen and say, very loudly "stop looking at me, everyone!"

If they expect to be treated like a celebrity with an entourage of security not funded by themselves - no.

I find a lot of what Harry and Meghan say, does not match their actions.

‘Celebrity’ is the only source of income. They could live off their current assets but income from a few tens of millions doesn’t really buy you a private jet lifestyle these days. They would have to downgrade to first class or even maybe slum it in business class.

The usual practice run for couples who are going to be married in the C of E, as long as there are enough vicars around, but I have known churchwardens run through the service with couples.
Of course it might have meant a lot to her, but it was smaltzy tosh for the American market, a huge piece of rudeness to the Archbishop of Canterbury and an insult to the many people in the UK, who, at that point, wished them both very well. No, I know, not all, but many, many of us.

It was an odd choice to describe the wedding this way in an interview sure to go global. I can see saying it to a friend. But they chose or perhaps even demanded the spectacle then mocked it.

When people demand know why they are disliked it baffles that they don’t see how off-putting and obnoxious they’ve been. They aren’t special, anyone speaking this way would end up offending many people.

Look at Timothée Chalamet’s recent debacle pitting the movies against ballet and opera. He lost public respect with just one little thoughtless remark and those offended will see it as a character defining moment.

Last night my aged father told me he couldn’t stand Frank Sinatra. He doesn’t remember exactly why but said he thought too much of himself.

No reflection. No thinking; "hang on, the taxpayer has subsidised this, people have come out to cheer and wave and wish us well, how touching, how lovely".
Nope. No appreciation whatsoever.
