A shiny new thread to continue the chat on the Sussexes summer shenanigans!

The video of her dancing/shuffling a bit in the kitchen reminded me of Katie Price and her mucky mansion.

Serenster · 05/08/2026 10:14

I find her branding very haphazard. She’s so very “Live, Laugh, Love” these days - which is fine given her movement into the influencer space, but that does noticeably clash with her “Serious humanitarian and one of the most influential women in the world” persona, which she still also promotes herself as.

A photo like this seems jarring for someone aged 45 who is presumably still aiming to be invited to UN forums and to speak to foreign leaders. Showing that you are having fun with your kids would make more sense here - but she’s not, obviously, it’s very much “look at ME being KOOKY and FUN!”.

(and who leaps into a deep pool with sunglasses on?)

My dad met her (and Harry!) back in about 1986 and I still remember him saying all the men (RAF visit so lots of young officers) were saying they'd never wash their hand again having had it shaken by her.

Can't imagine people saying that about MM.

P.S. Thanks for the new thread, @BigWillyLittleTodger !

Edit to add - I must have been 5 when the visit happened, so perhaps he mentioned it some years later which is why I can remember what he said!

Edited

Funnily enough I knew someone who said the same about Catherine. She doesn’t exude the same charisma on camera but in the flesh the servicemen were all a bit bewitched by her.

I think the reverse might be true of MM, she clearly didn’t make too much of an impression in person or her acting career would have taken off sooner but she’s very photogenic. She has lovely dark eyes, by far her best feature I would say.

Cosplaying Diana - again.

Yes she's featured the kids so much it's now like " where are they? " ? Your kids would surely be very much a part of your birthday.

Butteredtoast55 · 05/08/2026 10:25

I've just watched the cringe-worthy birthday video. What on earth is going on with the 'Its Giving Mrs' t shirt?
Is she going to add the Temu link on Shop My or whatever it is she's currently using to flog her questionable fashion choices?

I was thinking that the humanitarian stuff has been very much dropped of late. It was so much a feature of their early branding along with “service”.

I understand that they have to make money to support their lifestyle but that’s rather the point isn’t it? A true humanitarian would live a life that enabled them to pursue their humanitarian work.

She’s a shape shifter chameleon - but not a very good one ! Always ready to exploit every environment or opportunity for $$$.

OMG I've just seen the birthday dancing video. Ewwww.

PlattyCat · 05/08/2026 10:57

Did anyone else post a Happy Birthday message for her? Isn't it standard practice in the z-list world, the world Megz seems keen to break into, to share an over-the-top birthday tribute to your 'pal' on your story and then have the birthday girl repost it?

She did have a go at it on Mother's Day with that rather strange post to Kris.

For someone who needs adoration at all times the silence must be painful

HoldMyWine · 05/08/2026 11:05

I agree with other posters that her and Harold were a few sheets to the wind in the dancing video.

Mylovelygreendress · 05/08/2026 11:10

Where were A and L ??

Fromhere1 · 05/08/2026 11:10

I think the videos are a bit cringe....the 'glimpse' is so contrived. I'm not sure what Harry was serving her but am surprised it wasn't loaded with jam/spread..

I quite like the photo of her jumping into the pool but i'm imagining if I suggested doing that for my birthday... As they say around here..."she must be full of herself "!

Mylovelygreendress · 05/08/2026 11:14

StaySpicy · 05/08/2026 09:42

Well, it's my birthday today and I'm exactly 1 day younger than the ol' Duchess.

I know the world is disappointed not to see me jumping with balloons in a cossie but the pool is undergoing refurbishment...

Happy birthday 🥂

DH poured me a glass but by the time he brought it to the living room I had fallen asleep !
Ho hum .
They go home today .

Is your living room a very long way from your kitchen?!

StartupRepair · 05/08/2026 12:05

I can't really get my head around 'It's giving Mrs'. Just makes me feel old and grumpy.

What does it mean ?? Assume it's something she's trying to sell

savemydrawers · 05/08/2026 12:25

They are t shirts which are usually sold for hen dos and honeymoons .

It essentially means “My aura is wife”.

It's so very declassé.
