A shiny new thread to continue the chat on the Sussexes summer shenanigans!

Jumping into your pool cheered on by your friends and family, i can understand- a pool party, cocktails, dc running about. At 45, married with dc and plenty of time, money, big house etc, that i can see being normal in certain circles. Apart from having a professional photographer and posting pics on insta.

Jumping into a pool all on your lonesome and trying to make it look like you are living your best life for a photographer who is paid to be there, not so much. Just seems so odd. I cant imagine the reaction of my dh, dc and friends if i suggested this. Actually i can. Id be on my own:)

I still think she didnt touch the water, the jump was on dry land and photoshopped and its not her in the pool in the corner getting the deflated ballons out.

A friend who is a keen photographer is puzzled by the position of M’s legs and feet . She thinks they are odd given her supposed jump into water . Not quite seeing it myself but another friend agreed .
Anyone ?

One of her feet - the one in front - is definitely photoshopped. It looks really weird.

How do we know there was a paid photographer there though? It could have been H. Actually I think there's a rope swing and she's holding onto that and swinging over the water. Am I the only one seeing that?

For some reason Carrie Johnson popped up on my Instagram suggestions and I had a look.

One the one hand I had the same response i have to MM on Instagram: they both married flawed famous men, they are utilising that to promote themselves, and I don't understand the drive to share their personal lives, and their children's, for what? What do they gain through this self promotion?

BUT

The one big difference was Carrie Johnson made her life look real, full, and aspirational (apart from having to be married to Bozo. ) her photos show days out with the kids, picnics with friends, weekends away, her with girlfriends and other friends with kids, big family lunches at home, drinks with friends, a lovely homely but obviously expensive house and garden etc etc. It looks like a full life.

Whereas Ms Instagram is weird adverts combined with forced looking photos or skits of an empty looking life. She cannot portray a full life of friends and family because presumably she doesn't have one. So we get these weird sad 'here's me being manic on my birthday' posts.

It certainly feels like a pool has been scouted for a 'natural' look. An assistant arranged and brought the balloons. A photographer set up the shot. All highly planned for a birthday photo for Instagram.
I guess they couldn't do multiple takes though!

What would have changed the dynamic was if there were friends standing around the pool laughing. Kids squealing with delight at mum's antics. Additional photos of kids bombing on the balloons. Photo of friends and kids in the pool surrounded by the balloons. Kids playing keepy up with balloons etc etc. Families playing softball with all the kids with evidence of the earlier picnic or bbq. Etc etc.

Something which shows life.

There is just no indication this wasn't a highly produced sterile moment. So that's what it looks like.

I've now seen the rope swing. So not jumping into the pool at all. A carefully constructed picture to look like Diana.l

I think it’s odd that she only has one swimsuit. I jest obviously, but it’s a weird detail. Maybe this was from their alleged holiday in Portugal, taken weeks ago in preparation for ‘spontaneous lols’

The rope is just there she isn’t holding onto it.

Is it possible she photoshopped the balloons in later? She’s not usually very good at photoshop. But in the first picture the rope swing is hanging straight down and in the second it is at an angle towards the pool.
Also I wonder if the pool is on Tanera Mor. It looks like the sort of thing they’d have there, a private plunge pool hidden among the trees. In the second photo on the right you can see a leafless windswept tree at the far side. Since it’s NDA island and none of the other celebs who go there advertise it with pictures there’s no knowing.

Growing up we had a “pool” a bit like that - it was actually a small private reservoir at the top of the hill that supplied the farm but we would swim in it. Fierce biting water boatmen inhabited it.

Lichen covered rocks in the undergrowth.

Having looked closer, I agree with you . That location is far too rustic for it to be Monteshitshow.

I don't think it's Montecito, but I would hazard a guess that Scottish weather is far too chilly for the SoCal girl to dive in to a pool! Even with the recent unseasonably warm weather.

ETA that photo appears to have been taken by a professional and I doubt Ian Wace would have allowed them to come with an 'entourage'. Maybe in Portugal or one of the other locations where they snapped all those other holiday pics?

Yes I agree the photo is too good for Harry (or Archie) to have been the photographer. They definitely won’t have been able to sneak a photographer in among their retinue on the trip to the private island.
I wonder if she feels silenced etc by Ian Wace?

Whilst I do sometimes wonder why these things draw me in, the birthday photos and videos do rather invite comment and scrutiny. They're just so 'off'. If she'd just posted a normal photo of herself on holiday saying thank you for all the happy birthday wishes, who would need to question it?
Instead there's a ton of weirdness reflecting what comes across as a vacuous, child-free, staged, influencer life and we are supposed to find this idyllic.
Even after what appears to have been a lovely summer in Europe, the leaks and whining start. The images are trying to say 'Look how relaxed and fun our life is' but the undercurrent and actual narrative is so tense and angry.

She left grabbing the rope till very late in the setup which is why she’s in the pool still holding on to it and the position of the rope has changed from hanging down straight as in the other photo.

There are some very good pictures online of Tanera Mor prior to the current owner buying it and there’s very few trees growing on it.

These aren’t big trees though. It just takes a scrubby copse. Doing the photo in black and white also makes it harder to identify foliage.

Still pp are probably right, it’ll be somewhere else they’ve visited.

Maybe somewhere in Portugal. Same black swimsuit and the light looks quite bright.
