Trouble is the decision they made in June was still a "no", and predictably Harry can't cope with it

I actually believe he will stage some sort of assassination attempt on himself to get what he wants. I would put nothing past him

That wouldn't surprise me at all, Starryfifty, but those who investigate such things are a LOT cleverer than Harry and there's every chance he could be caught out

..... and in other news - King Charles took a helicopter from KP today

• no motorcade - just his car and a Range Rover
• he managed to walk the 10 steps from car to helicopter without 20 bodyguards - just a couple of discreet RPOs
• they didn't need to clear all photographers...

PS I don't Charles is looking very well - the Harry stress cannot be helping.

How long can this go on for ? It goes to show this man child has absolutely nothing else to do

with Harry's level of planning and knowledge there is a risk he might succeed 🙄

I would imagine in light of recent events that Harry’s umpteenth security review is now at the bottom of a very big pile, he isn’t a politician, he isn’t a public servant, he isn’t a diplomat, he doesn’t represent the King or the UK government, he has no royal or government duties to uphold, he has no need whatsoever to be in this country unless by choice, so if he chooses to come over because he fancies a jolly or to visit one of his patronages, then he will have to give the required notice and RAVEC will assess his security needs case by case, he and his family will never get automatic round the clock tax payer funded security for the rest of their lives no matter how much he tantrums.

I think RAVEC is likely inundated at the moment with politicians wanting extra security. I saw an article over the weekend that Farage wants 8 protection officers rather than his current single bodyguard. Also, the world political situation probably means that they are having to increase security at London Embassies as well.

RAVEC are not going to bend over backwards for the petulant prince, whose security was adequate given public indifference and who has no fixed plans to travel to the UK! 🙄🙄

Well it’s not actually “going on”.

The assessment has been done. The situation remains as was - which is H providing 28 days notice of visits. His security for such visits will be assessed on a case by case basis.

He might get all the bells and whistles, a bemused WPC “guarding” the door or he might get nothing depending on what he’s up to and the intelligence re: threats at the time.

In terms of how long he can keep wanging on about it….well forever as ever….but it won’t change anything unless his circumstances change- such as he (and family) decide to relocate back to the UK.

The key question is what’s his beef?

He spends the vast majority of the time outside of the UK. He has assessed security (if he cares enough about it to give notice) when he and his family visit.

So the options:

1. its about prestige - he wants the same level of security his father and brother get.
2. it’s a mental health issue - he’s delusional and paranoid.
3. it’s about money - he doesn’t want to pay for security in the UK and potentially also think getting 24/7 armed security when visiting also paves the way for IPP status (which he never had btw) in the US saving him an estimated $3m p.a.
4. its inter family politics - M doesn’t want to visit the Uk and this is a “valid” reason. H is taking her at her word and being a hero.
5. H is correct and the establishment is against him - there is a credible threat(s) to him and his family and the RF/UK populace/UK govt are hoping they will come to harm.

Note: multiple options may apply.

To be blunt it’s not confusing at all unless you take at face value what HAM brief to the press.

The process/facts are pretty straightforward.

It’s just that HAM’s PR strategy appears to be to constantly cause confusion (as in the Hello article upthread) by failing to point out that the Home Office and RAVEC have done what they promised.

I honestly think that's a huge part of it.

He has nothing to do all day long. No purpose in life. No status. No support network. So he's totally fixated on this 'security' nonsense. Good thing he found freedom eh?

Freedom indeed. Oddly enough, Dan Wootton shared the freedom flight video. The one H wants "wiped from the internet ". It's no surprise as it's an utter embarrassment. He said they were on their way to stay with a good friend, who he had never met 😳

I don't understand why, even as a n/w member of the RF, he doesn't want to help others in a less privileged position than him. I'm a retired nobody but I work twice a week in a charitable position, I deal with the public and do what I can to make their day better, I try and offer practical help and come home a bit chuffed if I've made a difference. He could do this in spades.

That might involve some actual consistent hard work though. If he did knuckle down to it for a prolonged period of time, however , I am sure it would do his public image a world of good (as well as being a good thing to do in itself of course , but I can't help thinking likes the plaudits more than the effort )

Indeed - let’s not forget the 5 day royal tour he was asked to do in Nepal (pre-M) was widely considered a big success.

In Spare however he bemoaned the levels of exhaustion etc without afaik referring the causes his visit had highlighted (shades of the orphanage interview).

To be fair I’m sure it’s not all easy, but in comparison to the tours (that took months) his grandmother made at a similar age and even that of his parents when he was a child - he wasn’t exactly being asked to climb a mountain (or even 3 😉) or do anything more (though with less support and in less salubrious surroundings) than I had to as a junior director at his age when doing due diligence in various countries re: potential mergers and acquisitions and working 14 hour days for 10 days or more.

He could even use his own pool as a water source 😂
