What more summer shenanigans await us from the Montecito duo?

He's bone idle that's why. I think Paula F said California constantly looking for firefighter volunteers. He could easily do it

He would actually be at some risk while doing this.

I still think he might enjoy working as as physical therapist.

BreadInCaptivity · 20/07/2026 18:55

Well it’s not actually “going on”.

The assessment has been done. The situation remains as was - which is H providing 28 days notice of visits. His security for such visits will be assessed on a case by case basis.

He might get all the bells and whistles, a bemused WPC “guarding” the door or he might get nothing depending on what he’s up to and the intelligence re: threats at the time.

In terms of how long he can keep wanging on about it….well forever as ever….but it won’t change anything unless his circumstances change- such as he (and family) decide to relocate back to the UK.

The key question is what’s his beef?

He spends the vast majority of the time outside of the UK. He has assessed security (if he cares enough about it to give notice) when he and his family visit.

So the options:

  1. its about prestige - he wants the same level of security his father and brother get.
  2. it’s a mental health issue - he’s delusional and paranoid.
  3. it’s about money - he doesn’t want to pay for security in the UK and potentially also think getting 24/7 armed security when visiting also paves the way for IPP status (which he never had btw) in the US saving him an estimated $3m p.a.
  4. its inter family politics - M doesn’t want to visit the Uk and this is a “valid” reason. H is taking her at her word and being a hero.
  5. H is correct and the establishment is against him - there is a credible threat(s) to him and his family and the RF/UK populace/UK govt are hoping they will come to harm.

Note: multiple options may apply.

ETA: other posters welcome to add to the list.

Edited

I firmly believe ( and have said before ) that Harry wants what William has plus he strongly objects to having to pay for his security .

CathyorClaire · 20/07/2026 20:22

I think intentional voluntary deprivation of assets like that would be illegal. You can’t get out of paying a debt because you’ve given your money to someone else.
Yes.

I agree.

Don't know about US law (is it even applicable in this instance?) but I believe UK law allows interested parties to follow the money for up to seven years.

I mean it’s kind of obvious that Charles doesn’t like football. Is anyone genuinely surprised by the revelation? 🤣

Hence why it’s not a big deal! 🫣

Agree.

I think it applies to the 'sport of kings' too which has seen him flogging off various inherited nags.

Lockupyourbiscuits · 20/07/2026 20:32

Regarding security I hope Burnham sends poor liccle Harry packing if he’s back knocking at the door for his limitless security
We all know unfettered he would be royalling around the country undermining 1/ the Monarchy
2/ The Judiciary 3/ our National footie team

The security control is the only way to contain him

I honestly think that's a huge part of it.

He has nothing to do all day long. No purpose in life. No status. No support network. So he's totally fixated on this 'security' nonsense. Good thing he found freedom eh?

I wonder what his kids will end up doing?
Also if they get divorced will he stay in the US with his kids ?

Not renewing the Frogmore Cottage lease was also a smart move.

Exactly. If they got the 24hour security (or whatever it is, I can't keep up), they would be constantly in the UK and it also means they automatically have it abroad. The piss would be taken

He might not be eligible for a visa to do so. Not that we know what visa he's on now.

He won't survive in the US alone. He'd have to return to the UK. When they divorce, I really don't think he'll be in the children's lives much at all. The divorce will be another grievance. What a b^ meg is, etc etc

Oh fhs Harry is not wrong in this instance! England did well to get where they did in the tournament but they rarely start confidently, and once they get ahead they tend to crumble. If that is not a mindset issue, I don’t know what is! Many other commentators have said the same.

You are just grabbing at anything now to criticise Harry.

(Besides which, do you really expect anything reported in the DM now about H to be fair and objective given recent events?)

Erm no.

They started well in their first match. Their game against Mexico was the best of the tournament and they lost in the semi-final due to cheating and corruption (and a poor decision to sit back and defend too early in the match). But they did not come with the wrong mindset.

Their third place game against France was fantastic and they’ve finished the highest they have since 1966.

So again, no.

Indeed - let’s not forget the 5 day royal tour he was asked to do in Nepal (pre-M) was widely considered a big success.

In Spare however he bemoaned the levels of exhaustion etc without afaik referring the causes his visit had highlighted (shades of the orphanage interview).

To be fair I’m sure it’s not all easy, but in comparison to the tours (that took months) his grandmother made at a similar age and even that of his parents when he was a child - he wasn’t exactly being asked to climb a mountain (or even 3 😉) or do anything more (though with less support and in less salubrious surroundings) than I had to as a junior director at his age when doing due diligence in various countries re: potential mergers and acquisitions and working 14 hour days for 10 days or more.

Edited

Let’s remember that on arduous tours Prince Philip kept waking up with a cold right hand. It was out of the covers and he didn’t know why.
He was putting his hand out to shake it in his sleep.

Harry wouldn’t know what hard work is.
Even in the army he was protected and when he was a working royal I don’t remember him doing any three month tours with a few days off at the end.

I think Harry is judging others by his own standards.
He is the one with the poor mindset.

Gangnam Style 😎

Why is it every two years? Most major sporting events are every four years. Olympics, World Cup etc. Why the need for Invictus twice as often?

bluegreygreen · 20/07/2026 22:53

The direct comparison would surely be with the Paralympics.

Paris 2024 had 4400 athletes.
Milano Cortina 2026 had 665 athletes, but there are 79 medal events in the winter Paralympics, compared to 549 medal events in the summer Games.

For the Invictus Games, Dusseldörf 2023 and Toronto 2017 are tied with the highest number of competitors, at 550.

I don't really understand the logic of the Invictus Games. Reading their annual reports, the local work they do seems good, but the games seem a huge expense for a relatively small number of participants. It would make more sense to me to support veterans in their recovery through sport, have local/regional events (similar to the German model), and then provide support for them to attend the Paralympics as competitors.

That is your opinion stated as though it is fact. . Many people disagree with you,

You mention the game against France. Had we been so far down at half time, we would have given up! So yes third place was fantastic, but we only just managed to stay ahead!

So if Netflix aren’t promoting WLM’s Emmy nomination, just who did nominate the show? 🤔
