It’s a long time since I lived in Birmingham but I don’t think MM’s biracial heritage will remotely concern or even interest its residents. It just won’t be on their radar.

Obviously people may know different and I’m happy to be corrected.

ETA forgetting my manners, thanks for the new thread, @OctopusFriend!

Starryfifty · 02/07/2026 20:25

It's like watching a car crash in slow motion isn't it ?

Edited

You're correct, it's an incredibly vibrant and diverse city, many different ethnic groups.

I’m incredulous that the media are falling for the paid-for-by-Harry securidee report that says…shock horror….he should be given what he wants. As opposed to giving weight to an actual security review by those who have access to a far higher level of intelligence

Extraordinary. A report from Harry's security firm, commissioned by him, given to the British press, saying he needs top level security! 🤣
Honestly. Why are people falling for this tripe?

I hope the divorce is during KC lifetime. I really don't think William will accommodate H anywhere tbh

how is that possible?? That's absolutely absurd

Justdancevance · 02/07/2026 20:54

Reddit showed the identity of the authors of the report, looks like a few inexperienced interns on google with a blue sky thinking mindset and a desire to keep their client availing of the Platinum +++ security package

Chris Ship reporting this like it was a MI5 briefing document 🤣🤣

Indeed.

The private security company that has said it can't protect him in the UK because it doesn't have access to the relevant intelligence ...
is now apparently the main source of up-to-date intelligence on risk?

None of it makes the remotest sense whatsoever.

Justdancevance · 02/07/2026 20:57

I can’t imagine that Harry and Meghan wanted to skip July 4th this year in the States as the kids are an age where they will probably remember it and it is a big one.

So just more hot air on Harry’s media what’s app group.

Justdancevance · 02/07/2026 20:58

Imagine when Ravec were given this ‘dossier’ how they must have laughed.

BreadInCaptivity · 02/07/2026 20:58

Quite

bluegreygreen · 02/07/2026 21:03

Wonder what was said on the RAVEC WhatsApp group?

Justdancevance · 02/07/2026 21:04

Perhaps Meghan can star in a remake of the Pelican brief using this dossier 🤣

Dameputtingonabraveface · 02/07/2026 21:04

I dip into these threads. I am not really a royalist, but not a republican either. As I have become older, I realise that I have a lot of respect in many ways for the soft power that the is afforded by the Royal Family. When QE2 died, I felt weirdly un-anchored, for want of a better term. Not so significantly that it impacted my day to day life, but that she had always been there. There were (sometimes considerable) mis-steps, but it is hard to argue that she did not put her duty and loyalty to her role and the British public and empire before everything else. It is a rather dated viewpoint in many ways, but I think one people either openly or on some level grudgingly respected.

I also am quite fond of King Charles. He spent years waiting to take on the job in his 70s, was lampooned for his beliefs in regard to the environment (ahead of his time) and the Princes Trust has achieved some great things (saying this as someone who has worked with vulnerable people for years).

I am old enough to remember the whole Diana fairy tale marriage, the optics during the marriage, the divorce and the early death. Whilst very sad, there has been a lot of poetic re-imagining over the years! I remain perturbed by those who remain anti Camilla to this day. I think she would be the first member of the Royal Family I would like to join for a drink, and is very good for Charles.

So in summary, I thing the British Royal Family is in quite a good place. I came onto the forum to see if there was any discussion about the DoC just wandering about at Wimbledon today and the joyful photos of Louise graduating with her parents, the Edinburgh's being there to support their daughter. The optics are changing which makes HaMs grandiose behavior even more laughable.

I do not hate Harry and Meghan, but I love cleb gossip. This is where they sit in the world now. They are the gift that keeps on giving. Whilst the slimmed down working royals are championing causes such as osteoporosis, the use of rape as a war crime, early years intervention, domestic violence etc I remain confused as to what they do, except their self proclaimed philanthropy and some half arsed crap about the impact of social media on children. This is whilst posting their children constantly on social media. They really do invite it all the criticism they receive.

MouldyCandy · 02/07/2026 21:09

If H&M are in Europe at the moment, they have obviously not been invited to Taylor Swift's wedding - seemingly taking place this weekend in New York. I wonder if W&K were....

Dameputtingonabraveface · 02/07/2026 21:10

Just to add, all the RAVEC stuff which I totally agree with. But I admit to missing the fun stuff about their crazy, rather than your admirable exploration of (non) HRH Harry and his self entitled/deluded/paranoid persistence that he is somehow more entitled than the members of his family who remain in the UK and actually continue to work for the Royal Family!
