I wonder where HAM will go from here now? Another faux royal tour? Is there an appetite for it ?

He’s had that invitation from Israel to inspect the aid corridor arrangements into Gaza. I think that invitation still stands. And Israel is the only recent joiner of the ‘Invictus family’ that Harry hasn’t visited.

Surely he wants a photo op with the Israeli IDF? He was so effusive when they joined.

Maybe he’ll do one in Birmingham.

LemonGrapefruit · Today 14:41

Imagine Hazza cutting a lonely figure trying to make a hollow 'victory' speech from the Buck House forecourt. Yelling against the wind down The Mall bless him, whilst the Band Of The Household Division strike up a loud version of Fleetwood Mac's Little Lies to drown him out 😀

There'll always be tin pot nations with tin pot dictators wearing tin pot medals who might imagine a visit would enhance their status, Starryfifty, but I can't see any reputable ones welcoming them

Those days - like the opportunities - are over

I read that as H inspecting a corridor. That's more his level. Just go inspect some corridors, Harry, preferably far far away from here.

No, I'm sorry. Inspecting a corridor is beyond him. He might see a squirrel outside and forget what he was doing.

Most people wouldn't care to wade into the Israel -Palestine conflict without at least some basic information.
Not Harry! A wild statement about humanitarian aid with no basis in fact! Go Harry!
No wonder the Israelis want to invite him to see for himself. Although he's probably forgotten what it was he said.

Not according to spare!! It’s his nickname, he told us himself.

Harold is his nickname. His real name is Henry

I don't know that they could. Because no one else is in residence at the moment, they probably have a skeleton staff and they'd also have to liaise with the Met over armed security. Harry's team apparently had a clear deadline to respond by Friday and didn't, then sent a letter on Saturday morning formally rejecting the offer to stay. Now he's changed his mind.

If they've plotted this to make it look bad on the King, implying he's got no room for his son, Harry can kiss goodbye to any reconciliation. The Palace has the formal rejection and can leak it.

I reckon Harry was holding out hoping to be offered KP, Windsor or Clarence House .

Lunde · Today 15:09

There is no reason that he couldn't have confirmed accommodation when he gave his 28 day notice. But I think HAM were holding out for a better offer than BP - probably somewhere in the vicinity of the Wales family so that they could "accidently" bump into them on the Windsor estate. He spent all last week trashing the suitability of BP and rejecting it. It was pretty creepy on one of his previous trips that he chose a hotel close to the Wales kids' school 🤔

I think that when it became clear that BP was the only offer - he flounced, probably intending to get a hotel. But guess what... it's the summer, it's Wimbledon and there are likely few hotels with a whole floor available for HAM, the entourage and the security.

So he suddenly decides today to resurrect the "offer" with a few hours notice and Charles is p*ssed off with the HAMateur dramatics and says no ... and Harry runs straight to the press....

BP may also have got wind that Harry was lining up to do post court interviews from inside BP...

This has been a complete clusterfuck from HAM PR - there were many who said, when he was appointed, that hiring Liam's hard-nosed, aggressive PR was a bad move from HAM ... this has become very apparent.

I think he really wanted Windsor - proximity to Charles and the Wales' family

I think KP would have worked as well as he could film outside Diana's old apartment

Ah, yes - another interview at KP. I'm sure we all want to be reminded of the positively toe-curling engagement photos and that interview. [Shudder]

Never mind Harold, inmo he should be called Angry Ginge lol!

Strawberriesandcaviar · Today 15:25

I reckon everyone who says Harry was thinking he could make a "victory" speech on the ANL verdict from Buckingham Palace or another royal residence was right.

I think ideally he wanted Windsor or KP, not BP. Because, reasons and because he figured that outside the UK people would see a) him as supremely Royal and b) the BRF agreeing or congratulating him on his "victory"

Because we all know it will be published tomorrow and if there's even one tiny thing he won on we'll all know about it. I really hope there isn't, I hope he lost all of it.

And obviously the Royal Family / Buckingham Palace / MIGs aren't going to allow that! Why would they?

Previous judgements I’ve been interested in via the FWR board tended to appear at 10am.

All this fake drama and uncertainty and leaving things to the last minute. Harry doesn't seem to know whether he's on his head or his arse. Of course he didn't consider the staff in all this - they are just minions who can be turned on and off like a tap.

If I travel somewhere then I tend to arrange my accommodation there BEFORE getting on the plane. It's part of being an adult.

I think a lot of this fiasco is on account of them not having any/good enough staff. If Harry was genuinely busy, he would have an assistant dealing with his diary. It feels rather like a young teenager attempting to organise a trip by themselves, without an adult giving them pointers or subtly "making suggestions".
I know most of us think he doesn't want to give a month's notice, but I also think he simply isn't organised enough and doesn't have an assistant who could coax plans out of him with proper lead times.
