Hello I thought I'd start a thread where we can build up the excitement for tomorrow 😂

I'm enjoying the English Country/ family vibe I'm getting from the setting and wedding prep.

Fox Gloves in the flowers 💕

I'm looking forward to seeing Harriet's dress, she's a very attractive women, but the flowers are always of special interst to me.

Who do we think will be bridesmaids? Peters P's and Harriet's daughters presumably? Zara's kids?

I read that Philip and Zara have a half sister who will be attending, I didn't kow about her!

I also read that Peters first wedding to Autumn was sold to Hello and criticised for this. Very tacky. It looks like he's learned and is not cashing in this time, so hopefully we'll get a good look at evryone.

I think I saw some trees being taken into the church (I may be wrong here) . They do seem to be quite the thing at expensive weddings these days. When DH and I got married we were doing it almost on a shoe string , or ,not quite , rather a v. tight budget) Luckily for us our neighbours were getting married the day before in the same church ( they were older and more prosperous than we ) and they said - don't spend money on flowers , we'll leave ours. They did and they were lovely .

That was such a nice thing to do.. I love hearing things like that

Also @PrincessBeatch I say bo-kay too.. my crazy nana (not unlike Mrs Bucket) would def have said "boo-kay" 😆

I like Princess Anne she was involved with an organisation I worked for and she was great when she visited- taking time to talk to people and showing a real interest in them.

William and Kate had trees - I think it started a trend

Hope they plant them somewhere afterwards

I think you're right, W&C was the start of the tree trend , or certainly the first Royal Wedding. I would have loved trees , but they weren't really a thing in my day and frankly even if they were I just couldn't afford it. I think some of those trees were replanted on a farm on a royal estate in Wales. I don't think they were hoiked into a bin lorry round the back of Westminster Cathedral 😂

Those trees at W&K’s wedding look insane 🤣 They’re bloody huge!

I take your point but so is Westminster Abbey (huge)

SlayTheJAway · Yesterday 19:49

But the guests look engulfed, like that gif of Homer Simpson backing into a hedge.

For anyone wanting trees at their wedding, I saw several lorries from a company called Palmbrokers heading into Badminton house one day, they do tons of filming there for various programmes. I wonder if Pippa Middleton got her cherry trees from Palmbrokers? She had a pretty amazing setting.

A florist on instagram posted the most gorgeous country Church decorations ever, I'll see if I can find it. No trees, more cottage garden. Feel a bit cheated that they couldn't post pictures of the bride.

OK, a few small saplings I think. Such a beautiful light church, it’s really glorious.

They look wrong from the angle of the photo as it's from above but IIRC the branches started a considerable way up the trunk so for the guests there would be minimal foliage to obscure sight lines.

Is Uncle Nonce attending?

What do you think?

Here for the frocks.

Keen as well to see what Princess Anne wears - will it be something (shock) new? Or will she find something from 1983 in her wardrobe that is now back in fashion?

How many can fit into clothes they wore years ago?

PrincessBeatch · Yesterday 21:57

No he’s not.

Et pourquois pas, exactement?

FoxandDuck · Yesterday 22:06

It must be so odd being a royal. I’m happily married to DH so no personal
experience of this but when friends’ husbands have re-married the friends have had that do I/don’t I want to know what the wedding was like, what the new wife’s dress was like etc but it can be quite hard to find out. On this occasion, it will be splurged all over the internet. Also, if Tatler is correct, when Mark Phillips’ daughter Stephanie got married, Princess Anne was guest of honour so her own mum was effectively upstaged by her dad’s first wife. I know there are families where everyone gets on very well and the first wife does get invited to all sorts of family events but she’s not usually the guest of honour!

IIRC they were pretty tall, mature trees but the branches and leaves were above the head height of the congregation. But the photos from above made them look even bigger

I loved this article about Anne's recycled outfits - especially the cream with orange trim skirt suit which she wore to Trooping the Colour in 1987 (a very young William in shot) then wore multiple times including Royal Ascot in 2025! ... 38 years later

Not wishing to blow my own trumpet but I can! Bit outing if anyone knows me, but every year I try on a pair of denim shorts that my mum made for me when I was 12, I've tried them on again recently and I can get them on still! True, I had to lie on the bed and poke my stomach in, once zipped up I couldn't cross my legs, breathe or fart but I got them on. I'm in my 60's.

AsparagusSeason · Yesterday 22:37

I saw footage of the wedding party this evening. Peter Phillip’s younger daughter is so pretty. She’ll get loads of press attention.

I mean when did Harry last ring Peter Phillips? Did he send congratulations when the engagement was announced? Have they even spoken since 2022?

Even when not invited Harry tries to make other people's events all about him!

I don’t know, and it’s strange you think any of us, including you, should know this. Perhaps harry has been in regular contact with Peter, he’s certainly stayed in touch with some of the other family members. (If Harry had been in contact regularly with Peter then his upset at not being invited would make more sense.)

FancyBiscuitsLevel · Yesterday 22:43

Annie has been a similar size for years, although some things do seem to have been altered slightly for rewears (so perhaps seems moved if needed). It would be nice if she got something new though.

Yellowpapersun · Yesterday 22:47

A house in my road has a gorgeous white foxglove in the front garden, it would look lovely in a bridal bouquet!
I love a wedding and especially an on the fringes royal one. I'm interested to see what the bride wears.

FancyBiscuitsLevel · Yesterday 22:49

Ok not sure why my phone autocorrected Anne to Annie - not trying to be over familiar! (Although she suits Annie…)

Yes the side royals are often the most fun. Less formal occasions so seem like real family events not state events.
