Hello I thought I'd start a thread where we can build up the excitement for tomorrow 😂

I'm enjoying the English Country/ family vibe I'm getting from the setting and wedding prep.

Fox Gloves in the flowers 💕

I'm looking forward to seeing Harriet's dress, she's a very attractive women, but the flowers are always of special interst to me.

Who do we think will be bridesmaids? Peters P's and Harriet's daughters presumably? Zara's kids?

I read that Philip and Zara have a half sister who will be attending, I didn't kow about her!

I also read that Peters first wedding to Autumn was sold to Hello and criticised for this. Very tacky. It looks like he's learned and is not cashing in this time, so hopefully we'll get a good look at evryone.

I love a wedding. Looking forward to outfits, flowers and of course the bride.
Winder who will be bridesmaids? The Tindalls I expect and Peter’s girls.Charlotte? I think Harriet had a daughter too, plenty to choose from.

gingercat02 · Yesterday 18:30

Oh I love a wedding. I suspect the Philip's girls and Harriet's daughter are too old to want to ve bridesmaids. Maybe Zara's younger two.
I think Anne and Mark probably get on fine, she's very pragmatic. There will be a massive team doing the wedding at Gatcombe, and I hope Harriet is overseeing not Anne

I think I saw some trees being taken into the church (I may be wrong here) . They do seem to be quite the thing at expensive weddings these days. When DH and I got married we were doing it almost on a shoe string , or ,not quite , rather a v. tight budget) Luckily for us our neighbours were getting married the day before in the same church ( they were older and more prosperous than we ) and they said - don't spend money on flowers , we'll leave ours. They did and they were lovely .

William and Kate had trees - I think it started a trend

Hope they plant them somewhere afterwards

Ooh drama ! I am looking forward to the photos

I don't think there is drama disappointingly. Both CMP and Anne remarried. Not sure how many wives he's had now.
Jilly Cooper's Rupert Campbell Black was based on him. (Or was it Andrew Parker Bowles? - who Anne also went out with.)
I read once that Stephanie Phillips lived on the Gatcombe Park E JJstate even! Not sure if that was as a young adult or growing up.

The Wales family and the Edinburghs are going .
” Sources” close to Harry say he blames William for telling PP not to invite him and Meg .
It couldn’t possibly be any other reason !!

I mean when did Harry last ring Peter Phillips? Did he send congratulations when the engagement was announced? Have they even spoken since 2022?

Even when not invited Harry tries to make other people's events all about him!

santamole · Yesterday 18:36

It's not Anne's wedding, she is just loaning her home and grounds for the hoolie. That will be catered and managed by, well a professional outfit you would imagine. Anyway the MOG is right to step away and be busy elsewhere on the eve. I would! She just needs to scoop her hair up in its usual fashion, don a nice outfit she wore for a previous gig and smile for the pics. She's done all this before after all!

DryTerryandJUNE · Yesterday 18:38

I was amazed to see Anne was doing engagements today - if I had dozens of people turning up at my place tomorrow, and my son was getting married
@ajandjjmum I'm 99.9% certain staff will be overseeing everything and that Princess Anne will not be rushing around with a clipboard. I also doubt the reception is in Anne's actual house. There will be a tent up in the grounds.

I'd want a Harry-free wedding too, if I were Harriet. Anne's probably banned him from Gatcombe anyway.

That feather didn't find its way there by accident, just saying.

Nor the candle, remember it!

She is truly amazing.

Hope it's a lovely day for them all - thanks for the thread OP.

Truly amazing 😂

Do you think she’d be running around her house with the vacuum?

It will all be in a fuck off marquee and organised by planners.

She probably happy to get out and leave them to get on with it. Peter is almost 49 so unlikely to need his mum's help

I'll be keeping an eye out for the looks 👀

I think Rupert was based on APB

Mark Phillips continued to live on the Gatcombe Estate after the divorce at Aston Farm where the Tindalls live now. IIRC Mark lives in the US these days

BillyBites · Yesterday 18:54

I seem to recall that people used to feel sorry for APB, being "cuckolded" by Prince Charles but, by all accounts, he was a right go-er.

Overtheatlantic · Yesterday 18:46

What? Have you been reading the daily mail again?

????

Telling your "sources" (usually their PR team) to leak that you wanted an invite to a wedding is really odd if you don't keep in touch.

Things were pretty frosty between the Sussexes and Peter Phillips/Mike Tindall at QEII's jubilee (neither would speak to them) although I don't think it helped Meghan "accidently" managed to get papped with their kids.

Doseofreality · Yesterday 19:00

Is Uncle Nonce attending?

Yes he was supposed to have been a real player. He even dated Princess Anne at one point.

Also APB never asked Camilla to marry him. They had this long on/off relationship until her father, fed up with his refusal to commit, forced their hand and placed an engagement announcement in the Times without their knowledge and to avoid the scandal - they went through with it. But hardly an auspicious start.

Oh please let the weather behave 🙏

What does Peter do to earn a crust?

TurquoiseDress · Yesterday 19:05

Wonder what the bride’s dress will be like

That’s about it really

And the best/worst dressed guests!

Keen as well to see what Princess Anne wears - will it be something (shock) new? Or will she find something from 1983 in her wardrobe that is now back in fashion?

Name changed as it's a bit outing to admit I live in the area.
So I did a drive by today to see what was going on. Lots of police. A handful on photographers on seats directly opposite the Church entrance - I wonder if they are bagging that spot overnight???
As I left and drove past the railway station a platoon of about eight police on motorbikes came along to add to the presence. I expect there will be a rehearsal this evening, probably done and dusted by now.

I'm planning on going along tomorrow morning to see what I can see. The time hasn't been advertised but I'm betting on 11am, then all back to Anne's place for lunch and an evening do later. Charles and Camilla are expected at the Derby later which is at 4.00pm, I assume they'll drop back to Highgrove to change and then perhaps a helicopter?

Weather forecast is lots of rain. I reckon they will all convene at Highgrove and then have a bus. Although there was no sign of it, I wouldn't be surprised if a sort of marquee corridor thing materialised overnight for protection from photographers and rain.

Thanks for the thread, I do love a wedding and gossip, I am all here for some idle chit chat.

me too! Thanks @StrawberryWasp

PlentifulPeoniesPlease · Yesterday 19:20

I will @HoldMyWine
I’ll probably arrive after a massive crowd has convened and see nothing!

On the subject of flowers my favourite garden centre had the most gorgeous display the other week. Peonies and foxgloves. DH told the girl it was ridiculous to spend money going to something like the Chelsea flower show when you could just come to the garden centre and see this.
I have foxgloves in my garden, they self seed. I really wouldn’t worry about their toxicity. I don’t think animals like to eat them. You often see them in the wild where there are ponies and dog walkers.
