Hello I thought I'd start a thread where we can build up the excitement for tomorrow 😂

I'm enjoying the English Country/ family vibe I'm getting from the setting and wedding prep.

Fox Gloves in the flowers 💕

I'm looking forward to seeing Harriet's dress, she's a very attractive women, but the flowers are always of special interst to me.

Who do we think will be bridesmaids? Peters P's and Harriet's daughters presumably? Zara's kids?

I read that Philip and Zara have a half sister who will be attending, I didn't kow about her!

I also read that Peters first wedding to Autumn was sold to Hello and criticised for this. Very tacky. It looks like he's learned and is not cashing in this time, so hopefully we'll get a good look at evryone.

I thought Helen Taylor’s dress was beautiful. David Linley’s first wife’s was a sort of homage to her MIL’s wasn’t it? The first Charles Spencer bride was awful for sure.
I wasn’t keen on the dress today.

I was working at the first Charles Spencer wedding - the fur on the dress stank when it got wet.

No she didn't.
Her father died.
Her mother is alive.

Information online refers to her 'late father'.

I agree, that's all I've seen too. It's posters on here who are saying the mother has died (as well?)

@MontyDonsBlueSuit Who was the woman in grey blue that looked very like Carole Middleton’s outfit at Kate and William’s wedding?

I had assumed this was the MoB? I liked what I could get a glimpse of and CM's choice was just right. Best wishes with whatever you go with, anyway.

I liked the bridesmaids dresses but would have let them wear a very small heel. Perhaps however they were nervous about walking in heels in front of an audience. I thought all of their hair looked a bit untidy.

Wasn’t a fan of the brides dress but she’s beaming so who cares!

I quite like Beatrice’s dress but clearly I’m in the minority.

Agree with this. They are a bit old for these shoes. I know adults wear ballet slippers but in this context they didn't seem right.

She looked a bit glam for a country wedding.

Agreed. The point is that an upper class country wedding isn't supposed to be smart, especially as they're all going back to Anne's place which is (allegedly) rather "lived in". You don't have all new, need to be fashionable etc. The difference for Anne at other family weddings was that they were (semi) public or state events, eg Westminster Abbey, so she would be rather more formal.

Eh? Camilla looked completely fab and she-appropriate in her wedding outfit at St George’s. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say otherwise.

Harriet could’ve done something similarly knock-out. Not sure what she was thinking with the full-on young bride look.

Maybe I'm thick, but I don't understand why people think this is a 'young bride look'? It's a long fitted dress with a high neck, since when is that 'young'? And as for the fact that it's white, which long ago may have represented purity, these days most brides aren't virgins, so where's the logic?

Treylime · Today 11:16

Were Louise and James there? Peter has six (royal) cousins but it looks like only three attended.

I really do not like these daft padded headbands that seem to be fashionable, Zara’s dress was lovely but it looks like a pin cushion on her head!

James is in the middle of his A levels. Louise might have exams as well

IcedPurple · Today 11:17

Am I the only one slightly puzzled by all the love for Isabelle whatever her name's outfit? The dress was nice enough but nothing wow. And that clunky white sash around her waist looked awful.

I am also wondering about this. If you start enforcing the rules for who is allowed to wear white very few of us would be able to!

I can’t believe they’ve included Beatrice in that. I thought her dress was hideous.

Also Sophie looked frumpy. Sarah Chatto looked like she’d made no effort, and the young woman was surely wearing a cagoule with her wrinkled skirt. Zara looked nice apart from the nasty headband.

Please, someone, what does "frumpy" mean??? Sophie looked absolutely fine.

Her mother died about 25 years ago.

Her mother is very much alive and looked lovely yesterday .

James was with Sophie and Edward. There’s a clip somewhere of them all getting out of the car but the focus was on Sophie.

A lot of these wedding guests shown in the background of the photos have been what Trinny and Susannah used to call “a victim of the regional boutique”

I hadn't heard that phrase before but it immediately brings a picture to mind.
The shop would be called something like "Foxy Lady", "Something Different", "She Devil"...
We have a classic example in our town and before my DD's wedding DH was always pointing out divine outfits in fuchsia pink or bright turquoise with jackets featuring huge gilt buttons accessorised with feathery fascinators and matching bags with chains and shoes with very high heels and bows.
I was on to a good thing because my hairdresser was friends with the owner (luckily she told me that before I gave my opinion of some of the outfits) and said she'd get me a discount.

Beatrice's is the only dress in that that I like!

Kate overall look is nice but the dress is very boring

PullTheBricksDown · Today 11:56

Harriet's mother is alive and was present according to the BBC (this is the sort of thing they'd check on).

She was mentioned in the engagement announcement quoted in this piece too, whereas Harriet's father is 'the late...'

James might have sat all his A level exams by now. I have a family member in that position.

I actually liked Beatrice's green number! Maybe I'm the target market for Foxy Lady 😬

Harriet Sperling, wearing pearl earrings with a silver drop, a veil and a tiara, smiles. She's wearing a high-necked wedding dress

Royal wedding: Who is Harriet Sperling, the NHS nurse who married Peter Phillips?

Harriet Sperling and Peter Phillips wed with King Charles, Queen Camilla and other royals attending.

I am convinced that Isabelle de la Bruyere’s outfit looked as good as if did because she has that “clothes horse” physique. Super slim and great posture. If I wore that I’d look like I’d come out in my dressing gown.

She was best in show for me.

In only slightly related news I was reading on Threads about an Italian wedding this weekend where the bride posted INCREDIBLY detailed rules about what to where. Down to shoes / bags. And had someone on the door to police it ….

Imagine! I suppose it was a society wedding and people were happy to go along with it but I think I’d decline on principle.
Obviously all planned for the photo shoot so I’m guessing anyone a bit fat or less attractive looking will be carefully positioned on the end of any group photo where they can readily be airbrushed out.

Rubberdoggie · Today 11:57

I really liked Beatrice dress. Sarah Chatto didn’t look great !

dottyaboutstripes · Today 12:05

I’ve looked but can’t find - was the MoB in pale blue? I saw a clip from the back of a lady in a pale blue (silk?) coat

From what I understand - no not a society wedding. The poster is an American living in italy. She was kind of horrified but in the end of course everyone looked very chic & photos great.

Certainly in the UK a society invitation dictating that level of adherence would be deeply non-u.

Even colour codes would be looked down on. Tho I do know one quite posh wedding some years ago that Beatrice attended that specified the chaps wear “novelty” trousers with their morning suits ….

Yes I believe that was MOB, see my post above about her. I really liked her outfit, very sleek and appropriate.

I thought Harriet looked happy and beautiful. I loved the lace, but felt that there was a bit of a disconnect between the square neck and the high collar. Was it a bolero that could be removed afterwards?

Kate and Zara both looked stunning but my favourite dress was Isobel de Bruyere. I also loved Lady Sarah Chatto's Skirt and shirt, she looked very elegant.
