Is Kate Middleton wearing a blonde WIG?

Saw pictures today of Catherine, The Princess of Wales at the Natural History Museum.

I’m glad to see her back to work and looking happy. I’m also stunned by how different her hair looks. I always admired her amazing brown hair, so the blonde is quite the shock. Maybe it’s the wind and the rain creating the effect, but it almost looks like she is wearing a wig?

Just to clarify, I understand she went through cancer treatment and that can affect the hair in many ways. If she is wearing a wig, I really really don’t see a problem with it. If anything, it would be such a boon to cancer patients and people with alopecia etc who do wear wigs frequently. They could see that even wearing a wig you could look as fabulous as Kate.

Either way what is your verdict, wig or her own hair? Does the blonde suit her or do you prefer her as a brunette?

For the Vote:
You are being unreasonable, Kate's hair is all her own.
You are NOT being unreasonable, it's defiantly a wig.

Also as a side note I love her outfit.

Good Heir Day! Kate returns to duties with blonde post-holiday hair

The Princess of Wales joined her husband Prince William to visit the Natural History Museum in London today as they returned to duties after their summer break.

Please link ( it’s allowed) .

😂

Links are not allowed?! 🤪

I can’t see anything in the TGs that says you can’t link to other threads https://www.mumsnet.com/i/netiquette

@YourBrickTiger

That will be the institution they wanted to be part of ? The institution that gave them the titles they insist on using ?

have you seen how many threads there are about M?
it would take ages to trawl the threads....

just to go back to the conversation about threads about Meghan’s appearance - I agree there have been discussions about her clothes/stylistic choices and that included those critical from a fashion perspective and those who were seeking the dupes on everything the woman wore.

There have been discussions about who copies who from Meghan to Diana, Kate to Diana and just an acknowledgement that for women in the public eye there is a high likelihood of overlap in style and in exact clothing (see the royal style threads for witty comments on the similarities when including all the European royal women.

There have been conversations about feet (mainly Meghan’s) nose and teeth (again I think from memory more Meghan) and hair - including weaves and wigs and an awful lot of chat about length (probably a score draw on that topic)

Kates had more discussion about her weight and build (although Meghan’s ‘thin legs’ have also cropped up) It’s this chat that tends to slide into distinctly more murky territory over eating disorders (see also thread about Kate and plasters with faux naivety)

Meghan and Harry have probably had more chat about appropriateness of hand holding in public whereas Kate and William have been regularly described as not being able to stand each other (including by posters on this thread).

Meghan’s had more discussion about her demeanour - I think but Kate’s had more critical discussion of her public speaking. This has evened out a little bit now as Meghan’s natural confidence in speaking has been undermined by perspectives of those who feel she has a tendency for word salad.

The truly down a rabbit hole conversations about surrogacy have usually been shut down quite sharpish but they’ve not always been removed. The “where’s Kate” threads showed parts of MN to be properly deranged - the coma, the making up bollocks about the Mothers Day post, the Sandringham ambulance ridiculousness etc

I couldn’t be in the public eye the way they’ve been - my self esteem would be in the gutter by 30mins into my first appointment but I think I’d be absolutely terrified if I was Kate and had any inkling of the mania that went on from Jan - Easter that year (I mean I know she’ll know some of it but it must be such a “core of steel” to not let one’s mind entertain it for more than a microsecond.

The point wasn’t about the length of time the task would take. It was checking your assertion that linking was not allowed. If you don’t want to or can’t be bothered to link, fair enough! But don’t dress it up as against TGs

But to assert there is no criticism of Meghan's appearance, apart from her clothes, is actually laughable.

That’s true. Lucky I didn’t really. I said I didn’t remember an equivalent thread about Meghan, solely to criticise her appearance, and invited you to post links to the hundreds that apparently exist.

For the fourth time. I did not say that. I said the criticism of her body face etc is embedded within the hundreds of threads about her
How many times do I have to repeat this?

BemusedAmerican · 24/09/2025 18:04

I disagree. The majority of the comments about M that I have read are that she is very beautiful but doesn't dress for her body type, should wear more colors, and needs an iron and a tailor. People generally feel that she is not dressing to maximize her looks.

jumpingthehighjump · 24/09/2025 19:43

Course you say that 🥺

BemusedAmerican · 24/09/2025 21:02

I think you are confusing MN with Reddit.

jumpingthehighjump · 24/09/2025 21:37

No idea what you are talking about. I am on Mumsnet. I know Mumsnet

I can’t read this whole thread, it’s so nasty. Has it escaped people’s memories that C had abdominal surgery that put her in hospital for a fortnight, followed by a long course of chemotherapy? Just possibly the consequences of that surgery and treatment make digestion and weight gain a bit more challenging. And that’s before you factor in the effects that extreme stress can have on one’s weight.
Honestly, shame on you.

I also think she is the laziest woman in England but that is hardly news. She always has been!

You really are quite nasty aren't you.

Thank you, you have it exactly right on all points.
