Is Kate Middleton wearing a blonde WIG?

Saw pictures today of Catherine, The Princess of Wales at the Natural History Museum.

I’m glad to see her back to work and looking happy. I’m also stunned by how different her hair looks. I always admired her amazing brown hair, so the blonde is quite the shock. Maybe it’s the wind and the rain creating the effect, but it almost looks like she is wearing a wig?

Just to clarify, I understand she went through cancer treatment and that can affect the hair in many ways. If she is wearing a wig, I really really don’t see a problem with it. If anything, it would be such a boon to cancer patients and people with alopecia etc who do wear wigs frequently. They could see that even wearing a wig you could look as fabulous as Kate.

Either way what is your verdict, wig or her own hair? Does the blonde suit her or do you prefer her as a brunette?

Hopefully, having lived through cancer has made her not give a crap what the public thinks and is doing what she wants with her hair.

It looks like a lace u-front wig/piece to me. I feel like I'm in the minority in that I quite like the colour on her!

She most likely needed the change after her treatment, if she had have kept her browns hair, people would be critical of her wrinkles, its hardly platinum blonde.
The hair itself isn't aging, she's been through chemotherapy, she has aged, like everyone does a little in their 40's, even a princess.

No idea if it is a wig or not. I prefer her normal hair colour but I doubt she gives a shit what I think and up to her if she wasn’t to try something new!

I hope it is because I don't like that honey blonde on her. I don't go along with the idea that every woman needs to go lighter just because they are in their 40s. If any woman was born to be a brunette, it's Kate.

Sorry to detract but I do think William looks fab with his beard, very handsome and distinguished!

Kate is a cool summer and looks much better with darker hair. But surely every woman goes through bad hair, experimental phase.

Well it's not blonde is it. It's just a slightly mousier shade of brown than usual. It's amazing how someone who is deliberately as bland as possible style wise can generate so much discussion about fashion.

I think the idea that men improve with age is a myth dreamed up by men to make themselves feel better.

However, William has definitely been looking better in his 40s. He was extremely handsome as a very young man, but losing his hair really impacted on his attractiveness. Now he seems to be growing into his looks again. The beard suits him, and I rarely say that about any man!

Yeah, definitely a defiant wig, singing 'We Shall Not Be Moved' in the V and A.

Don't know if it's a wig or highlights, but what I don't think it is is "sun bleached".

Surely if it is her own hair dyed that's OK?

I don't think it's a wig. I quite like it, although I generally prefer her normal colour. That's possibly just me though, as I always gravitate towards what I am used to. I could get used to it. 😃

She's trying something different, and she has also had cancer. Good for her for being brave and giving it a go (and not giving too much of a crap what too others think).

I like Kate with her dark hair, but everyone likes to play round from time to time. I actually have wondered about Charlotte's hair in a handful of photos, and thought it looked like she'd had a bit of lightener in places.

But so what? Most of the women I know have their hair coloured. She'd be more unusual then not at her age if she didn't.

And if it were a wig, it doesn't take much to connect the dots as to why someone might have a wig after chemo.

She looks well-groomed and elegant and she's out doing a job.
