Is Kate Middleton wearing a blonde WIG?

Saw pictures today of Catherine, The Princess of Wales at the Natural History Museum.

I’m glad to see her back to work and looking happy. I’m also stunned by how different her hair looks. I always admired her amazing brown hair, so the blonde is quite the shock. Maybe it’s the wind and the rain creating the effect, but it almost looks like she is wearing a wig?

Just to clarify, I understand she went through cancer treatment and that can affect the hair in many ways. If she is wearing a wig, I really really don’t see a problem with it. If anything, it would be such a boon to cancer patients and people with alopecia etc who do wear wigs frequently. They could see that even wearing a wig you could look as fabulous as Kate.

Either way what is your verdict, wig or her own hair? Does the blonde suit her or do you prefer her as a brunette?

For the Vote:
You are being unreasonable, Kate's hair is all her own.
You are NOT being unreasonable, it's defiantly a wig.

Also as a side note I love her outfit.

Good Heir Day! Kate returns to duties with blonde post-holiday hair

The Princess of Wales joined her husband Prince William to visit the Natural History Museum in London today as they returned to duties after their summer break.

She has hair extensions. Loads of people have them now, I have a few in too.

Sidebeforeself · 04/09/2025 13:38

It’s a really weird thread to start especially when you can’t get her name right

Mulledjuice · 04/09/2025 13:39

I don't know if it's a wig but we've all got much blonder over the summer having been outside in the sunshine. She could just have had some balayage

LegoPicnic · 04/09/2025 13:39

YABU to post this shite here rather than on a more appropriate board

HoppingPavlova · 04/09/2025 13:39

I think the colour ages her, but tbf I’m not exactly a fashionable person, so what would I really know.

CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair · 04/09/2025 13:40

I think it’s a half wig or topper, in some of the pics you can see where her natural hair starts. I think it’s too long and doesn’t really suit her and the colour is draining as well. A dark bob would look so much chicer and suit her more.

Dragonflydancer · 04/09/2025 13:40

I'm not slagging kate off because I love her, but i come from a country where only young girls have hair like this and I feel that this kind of "princess hair" coupled witj the lighter shade actually looks ageing

Batstink · 04/09/2025 13:40

Whatever it is, she really is a bona fide stunner. A real class act.

Dragonflydancer · 04/09/2025 13:41

I realise this is a UK thing though

Shitpeas · 04/09/2025 13:41

I reckon she's just decided to dye it blonder because it hides the greys better. It's quite a common thing women do in their 40s.

Spoilsport. Defiantly a wig.

LlynTegid · 04/09/2025 13:43

Leave her alone, let her carry out her public appearances in peace.

Lafufufu · 04/09/2025 13:44

Maybe...?

She's got 3 kids...cancer... and has to go out be photographed by the world's media so I give her a bit of a free pass

If she is...i dont really care

IDontKeepChickensButBelieveTheyExist · 04/09/2025 13:44

Christ alive, give the woman a break.
Maybe she loves her new look.
Care to post a photo of yourself op so we can all give you our opinion?

Belladog1 · 04/09/2025 13:45

I preferred her hair at Wimbledon. A glossy chestnut colour.

Some people suit blonder hair, and the general 'rule' as you get older is to go lighter ... but she looks better as a brunette I think.

However, she would look stunning in a hazmat suit complete with hood up.

JHound · 04/09/2025 13:45

I see what you mean although it looks more like added in extensions. I think the colour ages her though.

DiscoBob · 04/09/2025 13:46

100% that is a syrup, a very nice one. But it looks way to full and bouncy and the hairline...

Nothing wrong with wearing wigs. But if she was asked I'd hope she'd tell the truth. As lots of women do look up to her and her style.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 04/09/2025 13:47

It's refreshing.

Spoilsport. Defiantly a wig.

Is that a typo or do you think she's making some kind of stand about lighter coloured hair?

Wildfairy · 04/09/2025 13:47

It’s clearly not a wig, but her hairdresser hasn’t done her any favours that’s for sure. She looks better brunette in my opinion, and if she wanted to go lighter, then doing it gradually would have been better, i think she’s done it before and went back to brunette fairly quickly.

dairydebris · 04/09/2025 13:47

I think if we stopped constantly going on about other women's appearances then it might go some way towards helping women not constantly get judged on their appearances.

It's not blonde at all. She's still brunette.

A women's hair is often her pride and joy and I don't blame her for extensions or a wig especially after cancer.

HRTQueen · 04/09/2025 13:50

I think she has extensions in

The colour doesn't look great

She has beautiful thick hair, just this colour and style I do not think suits her

I’m sorry but I’ve never heard “syrup” used in this context. What does that mean?

fwiw I think she looks great and if it is a wig or anything else it’s none of my business.
